In my opinion this is Miami's hidden treasure. Located right off of 79th street you could totally pass it, never knowing its there. Just off the cost of the launch point there are three little islands to kayak to. If you go at the right times (during the week) you tend to have the islands to yourself. My fiancé and I only rented the kayak for an hour but still managed to get to the first two islands. The very first one has a little volleyball court and a few picnic tables and charcoal grills to have lunch or a BBQ at. The second was a little smaller but still good for a quick stroll. In other reviews I read the third island takes about 30 min or so to get to so you would have to rent for a little longer if you wanted to hit all three. Its defiantly a great outdoor activity if you have some free time and want to do something a little different. read more

I love paddle boarding and kayaking and go regularly rent boards from other companies. This was the first time with ipaddle and it was the worst experience ever. Usually companies involved with any ocean activities are chill and very pleasant to work with. This was such a terrible experience for me and my friends. One of which was visiting from out of town. Yesterday, a group of friends and I came to do a beach clean up with ocean detox. We each gave a $10. We signed up the morning of the trip. Upon arriving I told him we were unable to pay through the app. I offered him cash but he refused and said it wasn't an option... however his partner apologized for him being rude and accepted our cash. He seemed very overwhelmed and concerned about the amount of people and boards. I told him if they didn't have enough boards for us we understood and could leave. He didn't give us a straight answer so we waited after all this was for a good cause and were trying to be understanding and patient. One hour later we finally proceed to get on the kayaks. He first separates 4 people from the entire group of 12 and try's to explain our plan.(he never again tried to tell the other part of the group the action plan to kayak to the island just us 4) He then launches a dad and daughter who are not experienced kayaker and made pretty clear right away. I told him I was an experienced guide before and got this he didn't have to worry. Manny said "you think you know but you don't " and then from my comment made a sudden decision to prolong my launch for 30mins "you will go later now" Keep in mind at this time the dad and daughter are in the water alone trying to kayak to the island for the beach clean up. Wasn't concerned about them going alone. Second attempt to get on the kayak. Everyone at this point had been waiting for over an 1hr and half to get to the island and clean the beach. We were all patently waiting since this guy seemed extremely agitated. We were all standing with our partners next to our kayaks, by his request. Then he changed his mind and yelled for us to get into a line. We all proceeded to the line. Finally it's our chance to get on the kayak. I sit down and he snaps. "Get off the kayak both of you, your not going anymore. You didn't listen to my instruction of how to sit" I was really confused why he got upset. We were both sitting on the kayak perfectly fine ready to go. So we got off the kayaks, I then asked for a refund since we didn't participate in the event we thought we were doing. He said there was no refund available. Not only did he waste my time but also stole money from all of us. The worst part is this event was for a good cause to clean our ocean from trash that ends up where it shouldn't be. He had such bad energy and I would never recommend kayaking with manny. If you want a pleasant experience with boards and kayak I would recommend Miami Beach paddle boards. They are cheap too! read more

This is a wonderful option for SUP and kayak rental if you want to check out the pelican harbor area of biscayne bay. I happen to live in the area and have been meaning to check them out. They rent by the back western portion of the pelican harbor marina, the park area not the boat ramp. The guys who run this place are not always on site but are close by. Their number is listed on the entrance to the marina. Just give them a jingle and in a few minutes they ll meet you there. They have very nice boards and Kayaks and have water proof cases so you can bring your phone as well as a waterproof bag. Process is easy, they are super friendly and in a few minutes you are off the ramp and heading towards pelican island. From here you can head out towards a 3 island chain that takes you along the haulover marina area. The bay is lovely and filled with sea life sometimes pods of dolphins. You can dock at the islands and explore. You can rent for an hour or more, prices are in line with others in the area. They also do night paddle tours on full moons. Great service, great to support a small local business. Highly recommend. read more

There was a group of us that paid to go kayaking and they cancelled on us a half an hour before our start time claiming that it was because of the wind, however we were in Miami and it wasn't windy at all. They then said they could only give us in store credit but we were only in Miami for one day and obviously couldn't use it. DON'T use this company they were extremely rude to us and think they can just cancel on you whenever they feel like it so they can steal your money. Horrible service. I made a reservation and paid for two single kayaks, when I spoke to staff on the phone they said they would be open until 8 pm. I drive an hour to the rental location and recieve a text as I am pulling in saying that my reservation was cancelled. I called the staff as I pulled into the marina and he was no longer on site and not available to give me the kayak I had paid for and reserved. When I asked for a refund he refused to give it to me only a credit for use next time but I do not want to use Ipaddle for my next kayak experience. Clean approach to the water. Calm intercoastal areas to explore. Worth taking an Uber from south beach for the location alone, iPaddle is in a super safe area. There is the cove to the south for chillin and privacy, then there are the 3 islands to the north with paddles ranging from 15-20 to the first island or an hour easily round trip to the 3rd island and back (the islands are uninhabited, each has an ideal beachy spot to pull the boards up onto). The islands are unique and each have something to discover. Take the opportunity to get tips from a local, the proprietor Manuel, a genuine and fair person who knows hospitality. Value (price/per hour) and benefits (quality of hours) at this spot make for a Miami experience that will be cherished. Been 3 times, saw a dolphin on 2 occasions. The most recent time it came so close, only a dramatic last-second deep dive, as if to say hi-and-bye, saved the dorsal fin from hitting about 6 inches back from the tip of the paddleboard.. full visual from a few feet away!! Owner lied and This company is an absolute NIGHTMARE!!!! I was excited to try out their full moon tour for our anniversary only to have it cancelled the day before for "overbooking". I immediately contacted the organizer to see if anything could be done (ie. a refund). I was persuaded to consider an alternative date for a regular ipaddle tour or another Saturday which didn't work for our schedule (aside that the purpose for the tour gift was now ruined). I tried contacting them again (now a third time) trying to get a credit (ie. refund resolved) and was told they would make an exception and would issue the refund. I waited over a week and still did not have a credit/refund on my card). I call them, now for a fourth time, and Manny tells me "his" boss changed his mind because "they ended up having to cancel the entire tour due to weather anyway and all the other people got credits so that I could only receive a credit too--and they would no longer give me a refund as promised". A review of public record-- sunbiz corporate registration-- shows that he is the owner and registered agent. Great, now also providing a false statement in order to justify his "boss" no longer wanting to issue a refund. However, public record shows, he is the owner of the company and still giving me a RUN-AROUND for his own scheduling issue. This has been a TOTAL nightmare due to IPaddle's lack of organization-had the tour not been overbooked, I would not be in this ordeal. At this point, all direct texts and emails to Ipaddle are ignored. Then I am finally advised by "Manny" to dispute it with the credit card if I didn't want the credit but that it came from "higher ups and he could no longer offer me a refund". WHY WOULD ANYONE want to deal with them after this and go on a tour??? The latest ......"dispute it through the credit card", and that "he's running a business here" (ie. what he spent the money?!) I even provided an alternative--to return the money through venmo and that too was refused/ignored. This is not how a business is run. You also don't take advantage of a customer after the cancellation was due to THEIR mistake. He also told Eventbrite he "gave me multiple options" (ie. Not that he took back his promise for a refund and now forcing us to take a credit) scam! I am hoping this gets resolved sooner than later BUT avoid yourself the headache I'm having. read more

Nice spot for an afternoon of paddle boarding with the family. Manny was informative with his instructions so we knew what to expect from the current & winds. (not bad though) & if you are a newby like me, the quick lesson was extremely easy & I did great! They're actually a couple of destinations to stop & explore like Pelican Island & another two neighboring islands a little further out. They also supply you with some water proof bags if you need them for your personal things. They have kayaks too if that's more your thing. Very safe area & water was quite calm. This is the worst kayaking experience I have ever had. Manny, the owner, made us put a deposit over the phone and we agreed to since he was recommended by a good friend. Im truly so disappointed about my experience here. My husband and I were really excited to go paddle boarding here and left really bummed. Let me start off by saying that if you book a groupon you will just be inconvenienced until you give in and pay full price. Let me save you the trouble...just pay the full price or go somewhere else. A friend of ours gifted us a groupon for paddle boarding. I emailed them and made the appointment. We are about an hour away from the location and on the day of, we caught bad traffic on our trip. We called manny an hour before our appointment and told him that we would likely be about 25 min late so we wanted to know what would happen. He said there was no guarantee he could service us after 20 minutes of our appointment time. We told him we were on our way and would try to make it. We figured we would have to go out at a later time or pay an extra fee which we totally understood was our responsibility since we were late. However when we arrived 7 min past the 20 min he wasn't there! We called to see if we were at the right place and he said he left! He had our information and knew we were on our way and wasn't even professional or courteous enough to let us know. We asked if we could use our groupon or be credited and he refused. The Groupon terms do not say that the scheduling is final. He only offered us some extra time after we paid full price on our next booking. IPaddleMiami and manny, my advice is that you treat your groupon customers with the same respect as anyone else and that you at least let us know that you will not be at the location at all if we are late. We wouldn't have bothered to make the trip had we known. We would love to paddle board to pelican island but we're still unsure wether I will return or not. I truly feel they were unprofessional and am in the process of filing a complaint with groupon. read more

Long time Miami resident; first time kayak renter; first time Yelp reviewer. Secured a kayak rental for a Saturday afternoon through iPaddleMiami. Drove over 40 minutes to the Deering Point rental location to kayak with two of my buddies who own personal kayaks. Upon arriving at the rental location, the company was no where to be seen. After calling, I was informed iPaddleMiami made the decision to not open that day. However, I did not receive any communication from the company sharing this decision. I was told "communications are done individually so we must have overlooked your booking" and "we do not issue refunds but given the circumstances we will make an exception." However, the refund was not processed so I contacted my credit card company to reverse the charge. Lastly and most irritating, the company made no attempt to further remedy the situation. Given the 80 minutes round trip drive, gas expense, and inability to be on the water that day, I would have appreciated some type of offer for a discounted price on a future rental. Customer service and customer retention 101; hence why I am now writing my first review. read more

My girlfriends and I from Wisconsin visited Miami last week and were beyond impressed with iPaddleMiami! We called early one morning asking about delivery to middle beach and Mike and his brother delivered 4 paddleboards in 2 hours right to where we were staying on the beach. Manny/Manuel whatever his name was, treated us like garbage, they have on the website that they are open 24/7 but as soon as you book in the early morning like 5/6am apparently they get mad because its "too early", since the moment we got there the guy was having an attitude apparently because he woke up too early, I was patient the whole time but at one point he crossed the line by treating my wife like she was nothing and I got mad and had a discussion with him, he wanted to cancel the whole reservation just because he was mad, that's not how you treat a business, little boy, If someone pays for a service you have to give it to them no matter what, it wasn't our fault that you didn't have enough sleep, we just wanted to have a good time, I feel like kayaking its a great thing to do in the early morning but he ruined the whole experience with that attitude, he even said that he didn't have the time to have his coffee so neither do we, like, what? You can rent kayaks 24/7, paddle out at sunset, early morning, on the weekend, or under the full moon to a 10 acre private island complete with picnic tables, volleyball courts, and gazebos ... but no crowds? Wait, what? Yes, this is in Miami. And yes, I struggled internally about whether or not to even review iPaddle because I'd like it to stay the amazing gem that it is. The confirmation e-mail clearly stated the address of the location, but when we arrived no one was there! The owner called, expecting us at a different location, which was far away. There was no way to make our appointment, and he would not refund our purchase, even though it was clearly not our fault.
