I had endless problems with my Outlook email system recently and when the Nerds in Ottawa were super-busy and could not respond immediately, Matthew Kirkland stepped right in and took care of my problems. He also gave me some great advice. Because Microscoft had done 'updates' that had thrown my Outlook set up out of wack, there was extra work to be done to get my Outlook to work properly. He refused to accept extra payment. I have had computer problems over the years and used many other 'computer repair service' companies, but nothing compares to Nerds on Site. They are very reasonably priced, very knowledgeable and very fair. They have my business as long as they want it.

I brought my MacBook that needed its motherboard to be replaced. They told me they can do that and I left it with them. I took it back in 2 days and realized that they put a used motherboard from an older version MacBook. I immediately called them and asked why they did so. They told me that it was a communication error, and apologized, and repaired my old motherboard instead and put it back. However, if I was not knowledgeable enough to check that, they would have gone away with it, and I would get conned. Be very very cautious with this establishment.

This story is long but I'll make it short - after *going back in* multiple times, paying for further parts and service even after the warranty had run out I had a computer that was worse than the laptop I was working on before. Even without the software installed my computer will not operate for more than about 5-6 hours without shutting everything off in the middle of a project and just running the fan indefinitely. I don't know if it's malice or ignorance on their part, but I wish I had never visited this business. *Follow up*: I'm happy to tell you, I went to Staples and spent another pretty penny on a tiny portable laptop that runs super smooth and it's been flawless for about the last year. I'm all for the small businesses, but in this case I'm actually very sad to say that Forest City Computers may take advantage of you if you aren't already a discerning expert on computers. I wrote this a while later looking back and realizing how badly I got scammed, they are quite nice there and I walked away every time feeling like they tried their darn'dest to help, but in the end...
