We had a great time doing the escape room today with our family. Lots of fun, we can't wait to go again. Perfect team building activity!

I've done a couple of Escape Rooms before, but after visiting this place I think I've found one of…read morethe best in Buffalo. Escape Room Adventures is on the top floor of the 62 Webster St. complex. You can enter through Canal Club 62's patio and go right up the stairs. The lobby is super cool in general, a precursor to what you'll face in the rooms themselves. There's a few tables and chairs to hang out in, plus a non-alcoholic drink bar. They have lockers where you can store your stuff before you go into the room (and you can keep the key on your wrist so you don't have to worry about losing track of it somewhere). I did the Stranger Things escape room with a couple of other Yelpers and let me just say, the amount of detail that went into the room itself and how intricate the puzzles were was just incredible! Sometimes I feel like escape room puzzles can be kind of basic, but they made finding the codes for the locks so much fun. They did a really good job of tying a ton of aspects from the show into the puzzle solving, and on top of it the rooms were so incredibly submersive I only wished I could take selfies in there!! At one point I was able to solve a specific puzzle quickly because I'm such a huge fan of the show that I didn't need to consult the clues to figure out the answer. We also got to communicate with walkie-talkies and crawl through a hole, what other escape rooms let you do that? The themes of their other rooms are also very pop-culture, which definitely scores some cool points with the giant nerd that I am. I am really looking forward to returning in the future!

Easily the best Escape Room I've ever done, and they also happen to have dirt cheap wonderful Italian Sodas that you need to try. Who knew that an Escape Room would have some of the better and more interesting, innovative beverages around. The first time I came here, I went in with Robin, Aaron, and the Manchester United loving son and super sweet daughter. They were a great team and we all did really well together. I like to win. We not only escaped, but we set the all time record for the fastest team ever to get out of our "Amityville Horror" room. The 2 most recent times I came here, it was actually for a drink! As my friends and I found out on the day of the event, the Italian sodas here are magnificent. And dirt cheap too. These, alone, are worth 5 stars. The other thing about this escape room, and perhaps most importantly, this place is run and owned by the loveliest family you could ever meet. They lost one of their children to cancer, and this place is dedicated accordingly. It's a beautiful concept, and they are beautiful people.

This place is kind of hard to find, and kinda creepy in the dark. Especially since I turned in too soon, so I went down the alley behind the buildings. If you turn at the sign for Building 3 and go to the right, you should easily find it. It faces University. I wasn't sure if parking was an issue, but at 8pm, there was plenty! There were 8 of us, which I think was a good number. If there were 10, I think some people wouldn't have had enough to do. 6 or 8 is probably perfect. I felt like this room was easier to start. In the other room I did, none of us knew what to do first. Without giving anything away, you could see what you needed to do, which was helpful. This room was a lot bigger than the other one I did, and was sort of split down the middle. Because of this, the other side of the room solved a lot of stuff that I didn't even hear about. In the smaller room, I felt like I missed out less because we were all closer together. You have the employee in the room with you here, and at the other one, they are watching you and can give clues from somewhere outside the room. They are still watching you, but it feels less awkward since you can't see them. Our guide was fun though, so him being in the room wasn't a bad thing either. If you're going for the first time. I suggest you go with at least 1 or 2 people that have done an escape room before. Once you've done one, you have a better understanding of what you need to do. You really don't need to be smart to do one of these rooms. Actually, if you try to be smart about something, you're probably overthinking it. It's more like seeing something that is right in front of your face in a different way, if that makes any sense. I don't want to give anything away, but you get 3 hints, and I think we used all 3. But the last clue we used it on, I don't know how anyone in the world would have come up with that on their own. That happened in the other escape room I did, too. Sometimes there is a link that I just don't understand, and I don't see how any reasonable person would get to it, but you get a hint, so you really don't need to worry about it. :) There were things I liked about both escape room locations. This one was $5 more, so there's that. But they also had a cooler location and more props for your final photo though, which I liked. We escaped, and had like 4 minutes to spare. From their website, it seemed liked very few people escape. so I was afraid we wouldn't get out and not even be close. I was glad we at least got to a point where we knew we were on the final clue, and I really liked the ending of this game. I hope that didn't give anything away, and I hope it made some sense, too. I have to try to speak in code to not spoil the game! :) There are decently clean restrooms here, too, and a place inside the room to put your purse and stuff. I couldn't find that on their website ahead of time, or in other reviews. If it was winter, I'd just wear a hoodie and put your keys and your phone in your pocket if you don't want to leave your purse unattended. You can't use your phone, but it can stay in your pocket. I liked it here and I'd definitely go back. I'd just look over the available rooms and see what one seems the most interesting. Go try it out. You'll probably have fun!

Our guice Sierra did an excellent job and we managed to escape the room in 50 minutes or so. There were 7 of us, which, as other reviewers have mentioned, is probably the correct number. Please note they do not do refunds here but can hold tickets for you to use in the future - as was the case for us since we had two folks unable to attend. They have a fun game room for after your escape and have the classic "take a photo" setup that you'll find at other escape rooms around town. I find $35 to be pretty high for the experience overall but it is a nice way to change things up. I would recommend a stop by if you're looking for a great Escape experience!

Escape City Buffalo sets a high bar for Escape rooms here in WNY. This is one reason I selected it…read morerecently when the teams I work with wanted a little adventure. I first visited Escape City 5 years ago or so, I was working a different job but really enjoyed the experience. In my previous adventure I played the Over the Falls experience and was completely blown away by the game. (We did not get out) Recently I was thinking for ways to get the two teams I work with out of the office and have an adventure. This wasnt about networking, team work, collaboration, etc. This was just about getting out and having fun. So when I saw Escape City launch Jurassic Quest I had to make a suggestion. I am a lifelong dinosaur fan and of course love the Jurassic Park, later World franchises and read the two original books earlier this year. If you are a fan of the movies you will notice MANY incredible details of this room and if you are a dino-finantic you'll easily get through some puzzles. The production value of Escape City is phenomenal as their parent company is Frightworld. You'll find great investment the room(s) you play through. Ive only played Over the Falls and Jurassic Quest, but each room pays incredible attention to detail and great investment in the technology for the room. If youre looking for an incredible escape room experience I highly recommend coming here for a game. My only caution is that this sets the bar high and most other escape rooms are not this produced.

The concept is that you are on a ship that has been taken by Canadian pirates and you have to escape before you go over Niagara Falls. The staff is very helpful and you get unlimited hints that will pop up on the screens throughout if you get stuck. The storyline was really fun and the special effects were awesome! We escaped with 11 minutes to go! We will definitely be back to do the other rooms.
