Such is the case with Thai Classic where we are always served by the same adorable non-English speaking waitress who consistently drops things on or around us but still manages to be polite and endearing while doing so. For mains we shared a classic Thai beef salad, which - be warned - packs a serious chilli punch! However it was balanced out by the fresh mint and tangy dressing - a really great salad. We finished with a red duck curry, which was served atop a single tealight candle - unnecessary but a gorgeous way of serving the dish! It had some incredible flavour and really hit the spot, however a dash more duck and a splash less liquid would have made it an "I'm ordering this every time" kinda dish. There wasn't as much flavour to the dish as I'd hoped but was still enjoyable. Service was quick and friendly. The restaurant itself was very busy for mid week (always a good sign) and I loved the Photos of Thailand on the walls. Loved the sign in the toilet door too (see photo). The food was okay (though I forgot to spice it up) but the one dish that really caught my attention was the one that my friend bought. I can't remember its name but it was a curry with bamboo shoots in it and it reeked. I thought it was just me until a number of other objections also began to float up from the table, so I decided to hold my nose until we ended up leaving.

I just happened to drive pass, the name is so catchy Som Tam which is Papaya Salad in Thai so I stop for lunch. All those vintage elements are still there blending in with the modern decor. The long dining table at the back Courtyard is stunning.
