Loved the location of this Love's Truck Stop - since joining the "Diesel Club" after purchasing my…read moreRV I think my perspective had changed somewhat of these roadside truck stops. Love's operates two completely different businesses out of the same building with only a partial wall separating the two - one side is dedicated to provide gasoline and low flow diesel pumps for the four wheelers on the road, the other which is normally on the back of the property are the DEF and high flow diesel nozzles. The diesel islands can be a quite a mess at a lot of the truck stops no matter the brand but that wasn't the case here they had a crew power washing the concrete around the fuel islands, inside of the store was equally maintained so I give all the credit to the employees and management team. There are few things I don't like about the overall business plan, one is unless you have a business account with these truck stops there is no "pay at the pump" option at the diesel fuel isle, you must estimate the total amount you plan to pump then pre-pay before dispensing. Example I estimated I could pump $400 worth of diesel so I swiped my card inside for that amount, I actually only pumped $375.98 so that was the actual amount charged to my card but I had to go back inside to picked up my receipt from the corresponding slot at the fuel counter, my pump was #21 so my receipt was in slot 21 of course, requiring two trips inside isn't very efficient. If you want a full tank it's better to tell them a higher number or get really good knowing how much fuel you have when the gauge reads a half a tank or what ever the fuel indicator shows and do the math taking into consideration the fuel price per gallon, my rig gets a little over 7 miles to the gallon so I want to fill the tank each time I stop to eliminate the fueling frequency. Being most trucks are buying hundreds of gallons there are no 10 minute fuel stops a lot of these truckers take their mandatory 30 minute break so traffic through the pumps can be slow. The staff here was very friendly they have just about anything you could ever want including "public showers" thankfully I have never had to take advantage of this perk. All in all this place does a lot of things right and I'll gladly stop in again when necessary and in the area...

The parking lot is super clean with ample parking locations in case you don't need gas. Upon walking in the location is Ty clean as well. I had to visit the restroom and was surprised when I walked in and it was spotless. I'm talking true TLC. The floors, stalls, and sink area were clean and there wasn't the lingering smell of "rest stop restroom" odor. Lastly, I decided on McDonalds for my food break. Walking over from the store side I was able to see Subway, which was also super clean. This McDonalds offers the kiosk which connect to your McDonalds app, so if you're like me and love the app, you can place your order and just head in for pick up. The staff was very nice and welcoming. My order didn't take long and everything in the bag was fresh... If you know me, you know my undying love for Sweet Tea and this brew did not fail me. My husband and I speculated about it for a while and today decided to check it out. There's a bunch of truckers and a single young woman behind the counter with a little grilling area. The menu is a bit grimy to touch, but otherwise looks like your usual Mexican. We got two tacos, chicken and beef, and a carne asada torta. The meat was well cooked and surprisingly flavorful. Very simple, not alot of ingredients, but very tasty. The bread for the torta was soft and there wasnt alot of grisle-y bits. We were disappointed we hadn't gotten more to try. Overall, the service was friendly, food was well priced, simple, and solid. After searching for good mexican in my area, I'm surprised that the most promising place is a run down truck stop. Give it a try...but I suggest taking it to go.

Park at your own risk. Ive stayed there twice. The second time- I was woken up by the tow company in the middle of the night: pay $1500 to not get towed - or $9,000 to get towed. Thats a hostage situation. not: go inside and sign a paper and here's your ticket (it's free) - but here you have to pay $1500. I spoke with several drivers afterwards that said they also didn't see any signs, several of them walked inside to get a ticket- after seeing what happened to me. I was targetted because I drive for a big company. Absolutely horrendous to maliciously target a company and hold them hostage. And absolutely the store who contracted out is getting a cut of that money. otherwise, why not post signs outside in the yard? No, they target big carriers because they'll pay. and that is why you should avoid this place.

It was inexpensive fuel and would have been cheaper except that the pump wouldn't let me enter my discount. There was an error that the phone number was attached to more than one account. Frustrating! The buttons on the pump were so work off that there was no way to press the "Yes" or "No." This needs to be solved as does the receipt printer that made it's printing sound but nothing came out. And for whatever reason, they were not properly segregating the RVs/cars from the trucks in the front area. I'm all for truckers having a rest stop and this is aa good one, but I don't want to be dodging truckers as I'm getting fuel. As well, I'm sure they don't want "four wheelers" zipping around as they're getting set up. I won't choose this station again and I'm going to have to figure out the account issue or they'll be moving down the list of fuel stops in my travels. Having not enough time to finish all the jobs I had in the area. I decided to find a loves near by. Gas up. Grabbed a coffee and parked my van in the parking lot and would wake up and utilize their showers in the morning before hitting my final job. Decided to do this as on this day we will be expecting ice storms VS driving back up from Charlotte and potentially get caught in said storm. At 6am-ish William (Richard) the shift manager who seems to be in a NON LOVING CUSTOMER APPRECIATION kids mood is banging on my vehicle to wake me up. No when I walk in to loves truck stop I am greeted with "welcome to loves!" Well I believe that all goes to the side lines for its shift manager William. With the attitude of someone deprived of attention as a child and now as a man child. Informes me there is no over night parking and I need to leave before he calls the police. Shocked at the amount of attitude he has tells me it's his job and that there are signs in the parking lot stating so. Which NOT ONE SIGN did I see from where I was parked nor when I got gas and coffee the night before. If Williams job is to be unprofessional when he approaches people and customers as an employee of Loves. He needs a raise. And if loves travel shop doesn't allow parking for NON TRUCKERS then it needs to have signage properly installed. Even as i left I saw no signs stating no over night parking. Before leaving I returned my coffee and removed the loves app from my phone. Wondering to myself if William feels as unloved as I do at this particular Loves travel shop when he goes home. This review was written at Sheetz. Cause why the Sheetz not when you get No Love at Loves travel shop in Newton NC. William thought I would complain to corporate, just what a man child would think. Infantile. I went to Yelp so corporate, you, and anyone potentially thinking about going to your location can hear how rude and unprofessional you are to customers. Lack of signage and attitude got you and your employer an internet tattoo. Thanks William for being a Richard. I found my way back to Sheetz for Life!!!

I went back inside to ask the older cashier lady who helped me what was happening. She then proceeded to check the register, etc She had put my gas on the wrong pump. She then said she was going to talk to her manager, Tim, I think his name is. She came out and said there was nothing they could do, and in order for me to get gas, I would have to repay. She said that I said pump 3 to her and that I was in a hurry when I came in; she was blaming me for her mistake. I then asked to speak to the manager, Tim, because no way I was going to pay another 20 when I already did. He came out, and I explained that I said pump 5, and she put it in pump 3. Why should I repay when your cashier made the mistake? Right off the bat, he came off as very rude and mean. He then proceeded to call me a liar and said Who would I believe, a stranger (me) or a person who does this every day (the older cashier), That's when I started to get upset because He was speaking to me very crazy manner. After speaking to him and seeing it was going to get me nowhere, I said, Let's ask the other cashier who was up there when I was paying, He goes up to his other cashier, a younger lady, very sweet, and asks her, "What pump number did she say?". The younger cashier then says to him, Pump 5, she said Pump 5. He then says, "Write her up," and that was the end of it. Yes, at the end of it, I got my gas and didn't have to repay, but I got no sorry after the way I was spoken to, and I don't know, I was expecting more after being called a liar and having the older cashier who helped me lie on me to the manager to save her own ass. Thank god that the younger cashier was there and said I was telling the truth, but the manager and that older cashier lady were so beyond mean, rude, and unhelpful.
