Summary: ICI / Nick is great. Look no further. I'm serious. Stop reading. Call him. Details: My Camaro is from 2002, which means it was designed during the Reagan Presidency in the 80's, when Hulk Hogan was selling out Madison Square Garden. Smoking packages were standard equipment. Amazon was a rain forest. Honestly, the car has been very reliable. I'm the original owner and I like to keep it nice, and I mostly have. The problem is one man can only keep a questionable Camaro (poor man with kids Corvette) so nice. You see, with a fine Camaro of this vintage, women are like "No shirt, no shoes, marry me. I have unruly kids. Is this a 350?" The only "Bluetooth" in this car is something sketchy you might find under the floor mat. "DO NOT EAT whatever you just found under the seat" has been commanded in this car on various occasions in uncomfortable circumstances. Still, I have persisted and have kept the car in decent condition. However, an older vehicle can only tolerate so much driving around, either alone or with strangers. A couple of years ago, the leather driver's seat began to crack and separate where my spine contacts the seat. You don't have to touch much in a car, but the driver's side seat is being touched like 80% of the time when the car is moving, except sometimes if you're getting sweet air over train tracks or that bump by Meemaw's old house where she grew up. I have very little body fat, so my spine "is a real looker" as my Meemaw would say about my ex girlfriend. That and "She's one of the jammiest bits of jam," which confused me and made my ex girlfriend cry and then she got mad when I didn't confront Meemaw about it, but you don't mess with Meemaw. Anyway, over the course of a couple of years, the spine-leather separated and gave an unsightly view of the bright yellow foam behind the grey seat. It was time for action. Nick evaluated the situation and suggested a few different options. You may be thinking "Replace the whole seat cover, dummy," but I have the *fancy* questionable Camaro with graphic stitching on the way-too-low-to-not-kill-you-in-an-accident headrests. All of Nick's options included preserving the stitching, which is good, because that stitching tells people that the manufacture of that seat went through an *additional process*. Yep. I'm that guy. Nick was extremely transparent about the pricing and the work involved. He showed me cracking toward the base of the seat that I was unaware of, which helped me pick the best option to make this car seat great again. Nick obtained the appropriate materials. The day to make my car slight-less-sketchy arrived. Nick worked with my schedule and kept me updated. I picked the car up and the whole seat is now cushy on my tushy and back. I had not realized that the new materials would make the car feel much newer and it's improved the overall experience of driving the car. My only regret is not calling Nick sooner. He clearly understands that car owners are often attached to their cars and he in no way tried to tell me what to do. He presented the options and alternatives without bias and in specific detail. He's a craftsman and an artist. I finally took a real drive in my car tonight since the repair. The fit, color, and comfort are perfect and the car truly feels 10 years newer. My experience at this shop was not that different from Mr Town's experience (different review, please see). I visited the shop 3 times and not once was the owner available, this in itself would not be a problem but since only the owner can give an estimate (so I was told) it makes it nearly impossible to get one. Beyond this, on the second visit I dropped off my headliner thinking this would make it easier to get an estimate and was assured I would get one at some point that day when the owner got in but that didn't happen. I called the following day to see if I could get the estimate but got voice mail, I left a message and waited all day for a call back to no avail as I was never called back. It was after this (the following day) that I finally decided to pick up my headliner and try another shop, which I did. I'm in no position to tell someone how to run their business but if the customer is not a priority I don't see how you can be successful? I can't honestly give a review on their work, though from what I seen when I was at this shop the work looked good but I wonder how long it took for these jobs to get started or done or even quoted especially given my experience. To be sure this is not a review out of anger, this is simply an honest description of my experience with Interstate Upholstery. I hope that anyone else doing business with Interstate Upholstery has a better experience than I and Mr Town's did and that our's were just outliers... Good day to all. read more

We had Nick repair a leather seat a year ago and he did a great job. I have a 98 Ford truck I'm working on fixing up. Liner shredded, carpet stained. Nick replaced lined and carpet, looks much better. We also had him repair a torn seat on another truck and repair a head liner on a third vehicle. He does great work and is reasonable. Completely Restored Mach 1 Seats for my 69' Mustang. I was referred to Interstate by Drew Brothers Custom Paint and boy did they send me to the right place! I had seats that were worse than Junk Yard Condition needing to be stripped down to the Springs. Nick got them stripped down within a day or so and I picked up the Springs and took them to Arizona Powder Coat (Washington Street/Phoenix) to be media blasted and powder coated. Got them back and brought them back to Nick with all new hardware, upholstery and cushions. . Nick and his team got them assembled and they Look Better than New. I attached a picture, there is some missing hardware on the side of the seat, because I failed to drop off the screws. This is the 2nd set of seats we had Nick and his team restore and both results are just unbelievably awesome! Highly Recommend them ** Fast Turnaround too (4 days). read more
