My leather couch needed worn leather areas repaired after 10 years of loving use. Stephanie and Victor (owners) offered full repair with a custom new leather hide ordered from their samples which matched perfectly. While only 2 of 4 seat cushions needed repair the pricing was well worth doing all four - now all good for another 10 years! Quality materials, quality work and fair prices. My couch cushions were getting flat so what's a guy like me to do? Stuff them myself with old newspapers? Yeah right, but I did think of that. They knew exactly what the problem was and the proper way to stuff them. They are actually better than new. He tufted correctly by sewing all pieces rather than pulling the fabric - all which was priced similarly to those whom planned to only pull the fabric. What a terrible experience. I booked my appointment a month in advance and stressed needing first thing in the AM as I have newborn babies & plan around their naps. The owner assured me her son would be here first thing. Originally 8am. Then changed to 830. Then I called at 850, to be told he's on his way. A lie. 930-called again. "Hes 15 minutes away I can't control traffic" I'm told. No apology, no sorry we're over an hour late, nothing. 15 minutes was a lie. He showed up at exactly 10am. I expressed how unprofessional an unacceptable it was that he was so late. I then emailed the company and advised why I would not be paying and bill, and was told "we choose not to do business with people who berate our employees." No one was berated. I was lied to, 3x, and expressed my frustration. Guess being 2 hours late to a job is acceptable in their book. And somehow I'm the bad guy. Worst experience ever. And he didn't even fix my couch!!! read more

I just got my chairs back from Chair A Medic and all I can say is WOW!!! These were dining room chairs that had worn fabric on the seats. They are custom order Kindel chairs, from many years ago. Very expensive, and I didn't want to discard the chairs. I called Chair A Medic and after sending some photos to them, I got a quote and went ahead with the work. I had some original fabric in great condition. They came and picked up the chairs and fabric. The chairs were delivered back to me today and they honestly look as good as the day I bought them. Beautiful work was done with prior companies on the East coast. This experience, not the best. Not horrible, just ok. Some of the furniture character was lost with this work. I'm giving this business one star for at least being cooperative about giving me my money back. I have a leather sofa that was originally plump and cushy, but the seat cushions had been squished out of shape by years of use. After reading the reviews on Yelp, I took the cushions to Chair-A-Medic be refurbished. When I got them back, they were relatively flat on top rather than overstuffed. I took them home and sat on them and they were as hard as a board. After one evening, I went to bed with aching hips. Chair-A-Medic had also sewed a tear in the fabric side of one of cushions, and that was already visibly failing to hold. I returned with the cushions and talked to Bob, the owner. I even took a cushion off our loveseat, which had little wear, to show him what the original was like. He said he'd try re-doing one cushion to see if he could get it the way I wanted. When I got that one back, it not only was nearly as hard, but it was so far from filled out that the leather sagged in front. I took that one back and Bob told me he didn't know what I wanted and that I wouldn't be able to find what I wanted. I said, "Oh, I think I will." He did refund my money, and asked for the foam cores back. I took the cushions to an upholstery business where the owner took great care to order the softer foam I wanted and to get the overstuffed look of the original. He also fixed the tear. Now that I've returned the cores, I would never go back to Chair-A-Medic as it seems to me that 1) they don't know what they're doing, or 2) they use inferior materials to save money, or 3) both of the above. read more

My experience with Chair Medic can only be summed up as disappointed. I contacted this company in August and made and appointment to discuss the project of refinishing my dining room set, reupholsters for the couch, and recliner. After speaking with Lisa about the project we made an appointment for the crew to come to our home on Sept 2nd, to see, the furniture and finalize fabrics. The crew reviewed the order, assured me they can complete the job by Thanksgiving then left. The following week was Labor Day so I did not expect to hear from the company with the final estimate using the fabrics selected and refinishing cost. I waited until Sept 10th to send an email inquiring when we will start the project and what are the final estimates. To date I have not heard from Chair-A-Medic. I did however have the job done by Phoenix Custom Upholstery who will be getting a 5 star rating. read more

Got this company's name from To-Fix-It. I thought all would be well since they recommend them. I completed the questionnaire on To-Fix-It and waited to hear back from Chair-A-Medic (which is supposed to be within 2 days). Five days later I got a call. They asked me to send pictures of the sofa that I wanted repaired, and I got a quote back the next day (for 30% more than other quotes I got). When I emailed back asking about specials they might be running and what the guarantee would be I never heard back. Thinking there must be a quality reason for this price difference, I persisted and called a week later leaving a message asking for info on the guarantee. Nothing. A week later I called back again and asked for Bob (owner), and explained that I had not heard back from Lisa (office manager). He told me she had been out and would call me on Monday. We inherited a sideboard/wine cabinet from my mother--she bought it at a garage sale about 25 years ago for $75 (!!!!), and it was always in our foyer growing up. My dad hated the thing (art deco is apparently not his style!), so my mom gave it to my husband and me. We didn't have anywhere to put it, so it languished in our garage, collecting dust and being subjected to the super-dry desert climate. We recently moved and have the perfect spot for it, so my husband surprised me by taking it to Chair-a-medic for restoration, and I have one word: WOW. They did an incredible job. I don't even know what to say. It brought my mother to tears... in a good way. They obviously put a lot of care and love into the restoration, and they preserved the original hardware and wood, and it looks absolutely amazing. They tried to find a maker's mark to help us age and identify it, but no luck. No matter--it's just a wonderful piece of our family history, and now it's something that can be passed on to my daughter and generations beyond. And it looks fantastic in our great room! I called, explained the problem with my father's lift chair and my made an appointment to evaluate a lift chair with Lisa. She was helpful and pleasant. I explained my parents live at a sr. community and they're following Covid-19 protocols so the repairman Zac should ask for the executive director Breann Kelly during the registrations process so he could be escorted to my parent's apartment. Unfortunately Zac did not ask for Breann and when told by the receptionist he could not enter the property without prior approval (which I cleared with Breann) he behaved rudely and left the premises. When we called me to explain he had an altercation with the reception staff, I told him he was supposed to request Breann but he said he wasn't aware of that and would call Lisa to see if he could go back to the facility to evaluate my Dad's chair. Instead, about 30 seconds later he called me back and said he just wasn't going to "put up" with the staff at LivGenerations, was rude to me and refused the follow through with the job, leaving me in a lurch as we had waited a week for the appointment and the broken chair was a safety issue. Zac was unprofessional and needs to learn customer service. Chair-A-Medic was recommended by a sales rep at AmeriGlide Accessibility Solutions. I've shared this experience with AmeriGlide and recommended not to send any of their clients to this company. read more

They had a variety of different materials for me to match to my couch. The turn around time for the repair was much quicker than quoted too.
