I find all the Auto stores pretty much the same. They have similar inventory and brands, I guess…read morethe main issue is location and convenience. I was in the area and I wanted to check on some seat covers. This store had a good selection of them and the prices were not bad compared to a discount big box store. The good thing I like about many of these Auto stores is that they let you browse and take your time, without being bombarded by salespeople. Advanced Auto parts was founded in 1932 in Roanoke, VA. Terrible experience here! I stopped in on a Saturday for an inspection sticker. The shady man doing…read morethe sticker told me that I needed to replace one of my directionally signals and that he could do change the light for $15. A few minutes later he told me he was too busy to do it since he had a line of cars waiting for stickers so I got a safety rejection. Understandable. I went to replace the bulb later on only to discover the entire socket was missing. It's not a piece that just falls out on its own and I'm assuming if I needed the socket replaced he'd have told me that instead of saying it was just the bulb. I ended up having to buy a replacement bulb on Amazon and then went back first thing Monday morning to replace it. Before they even assessed the situation, the same mechanic told me it wouldn't be an easy or cheap job. He tried to tell me that the wiring was burnt out and they needed to check the entire wiring before they could replace the light. I adamantly told him that was BS and made them take a look at my car. The actual mechanic confirmed that I had the correct parts and told me "whoever tried to change your light took out the socket, it's not something that just falls out." When I told him that the light worked the week before and they were the only people to look at it, they were silent. After about 15 minutes of tinkering under my hood they told me I had the wrong part for my car which was a total lie. My dad ended up putting in the light and I passed inspection elsewhere without any issues. These guys are crooks and shady businessmen.

At times, there have been multiple repairs that have to be made, and they are amazing at prioritizing the order of repairs for us. The shop itself is no frills, efficient, and we have had no issues at all with customer service. We have always left feeling like we got a great deal on parts and work performed. They have a cool computer system that will list the work needed, and you can accept or decline through text. Additionally, the repairs have always been completed in the specified time frame, and as far as I can tell, it is pretty quick. We have had cars inspected there as well. If you are looking for a fair, reasonably priced mechanic, give Hassells a try!

An example of their trustworthiness is when I first brought my car to them. I was having a major issue with the electronics in the car. I had no idea what was wrong with the car and thought it would be thousands of dollars to fix. I got a call later in the day saying that the car was ready to be picked up. It was an issue with a fuse that cost less than a dollar to replace. They didn't know me, could have gouged me but didn't. This is just one example of trustworthiness. I have experienced several more as have others. When Manny was transferred to another location further away we choose to bring our car there. In speaking with friends they did the same. It was such a blessing when he moved back to this location. But their greatness extends beyond just trust. They do outstanding work and provide excellent customer service.
