The selection is as superb as I'd remembered, and I had a wonderful conversation with the young woman working there.

I am floored by the amount of books, in every single category imaginable. Yes, they have a large children's section. There is a giant plush figure standing near a black pole in front of the children's books. I checked out each floor. I'm a sucker for novelty items, which they have plenty of. They sell multiple models of Polaroid cameras and film. Tons of calendars in different formats. Their vinyl room is on the ground floor, in the back. The store is sleek, clean, and organized. If you're in Berlin, I recommend visiting this store.

Beyond an insane collection of books, they also have tons of very unique novelty items that make great gifts or, something for yourself-- something that you never knew you needed. This shop is a multilevel business. They have multiple floors with books and other items on every floor. Plus, it is just stuffed full with an insane amount of books covering all varieties to quench your reading experience. As mentioned, they are much more than just an incredible bookstore. They also have a great selection of vinyl. So, for all of you vinyl enthusiasts, this is a great place to go and find that unique piece of music that you've wanted either very recently or all the way back to when you were young. It's really hard to explain just how much this store offers. I mean, if you're looking for a specific book, it's more than likely they will have. And, if they don't, they can most likely get it for you. Dussmann's great places to sit around and take a look at that book you may be interested in purchasing. Or, you can go there and have interesting discussions with your friends or family about literature and/or anything else. This is truly a great shop! But they have a pretty good selection! I went specifically for English books which I think is all they have. There was a German section though if that's what you're looking for. I didn't order any food or coffee so I can't speak on it but we went later in the evening and they still had a few cakes and stuff to choose from. They don't allow laptops on Saturday's (to save space and stop people from staying too long I assume) which is fine in my opinion. I'd definitely go back with a book or a notebook and sip on a coffee for a few hours.

Berlin has many bookstores, but only one, Shakespeare and Sons, is located on a busy wide Strasse in the former East Berlin. You can see tables on the sidewalk with many uber-cool young people talking away, eating fresh New York bagels and coffee. The interior is dark, brooding, and narrow but comforting. We ordered breakfast bagels with coffee and sat outside with many narratives walking back and forth. The bagels are very well crafted and the shmeers and fresh tomatoes and onions are tasty. The coffees were well made. It was fun to travel there. If you are still hungry, there is a bespoke donut place next door. Highly recommend this place.

I had to refrain myself from buying a few because I did not have the extra space for them unfortunately in my luggage. Customer service is very friendly and professional. It's definitely worth a visit, if you would like to purchase something good to read in English or step up your book collection.

Most of the books here are related to design and some creative and fun books. It's quite good for people who is interested at art or design to pay a visit. I got to know this place because of my colleagues. The shop is actually bigger than I expected. Besides books, half of the shop was full of cool clothes and accessiories. I did find some cool stuff, but again quite pricey. Close to the entrance at the back I found something books on sale. I was there for about an hour, was looking something. So I basically looked thought most the books here. It was a bit let down, there weren't so many cool collectable figures or toys in the shop. So if you are looking for some cool toys, this might not be the right place. But they have quite cool collection of books.
