I can't believe it took me so long to come across this lovely English book shop. I could spend an good hour in here if it was left to me. There were so many wonderful books to read. I had to refrain myself from buying a few because I did not have the extra space for them unfortunately in my luggage. Customer service is very friendly and professional. Such an amazing place to spend more time than you intended! The staff is amazing, and has pretty much the whole store of floor-to-ceiling bookshelves catalogued in their head. The books are very reasonably priced, and you can find so many good books. Only thing I miss would be better facilities for sitting and reading (with coffee even), but it's a tiny store, so can't really blame them. read more

One of my favorite bookstores in the city. It specializes in English literature. The soul of the place and people working there is Berlin magic. Really tiny place, be ready to dig deep to find what you're looking for. Most of the books are used here and if a finished book returns, the price drops. Keep your receipt, they will buy back books you bought from them. read more

I'm definitely a fan of this (mostly used books) bookshop. A warm atmosphere is a must for any bookstore, and this place has just that. There are places to sit, but the best part is the immense selection, floor-to-ceiling, of books in all varieties and genres/sub-genres. It's well organized. The only flaw, and it is a significant one, is that they don't have the whole collection catalogued - so if you're looking for a particular book, you'll actually need to search to find it. That said, the search in places like these is half the fun. I recommend a visit. Massive English-language collection. Don't know if they carry much (or any) in German. The pricing, by the way, is very competitive. read more

Wonderful selection of both new and used titles, clearly stocked by people who love to read. Especially good for literary fiction, history, and science, but with an above-average stock of resource/language and travel books as well. Being a dog-eared kind of shop, it's not always easy to navigate, and with the ladders propped by the shelves they mean business. But I've always found the staff super helpful. As a bonus, prices often run close to their Amazonian counterparts; bargains are good enough to make the trip worthwhile. read more

Amazing place!! Not only did I find exactly the book I had been looking for all throughout the US and Europe, but it was significantly cheaper than the list price (less than half)! After helping me to find this book, the man there gave me a recommendation of what to do that evening. He sent me to a great restaurant in Neukoln playing a film. Truly a fantastic place with fantastic people. Worth a visit even if you aren't craving a read. read more

A great selection within many different genre's. Used books are mixed in that are reasonably priced. For example, a used copy of The Picture of Dorian Gray was 2 euros. Some publishers like Penguin seem to be overpriced but it seems to be that way in other bookshops in Berlin. read more

The staff here are absolute dolls; they couldn't be more friendly, interested and willing to help. I've been availing myself of their help since arriving in Berlin in 2006 and although I now shop at German bookstores too (and new, bigger English bookshops have opened), there is nowhere that I feel more comfortable asking for the staff's help and no staff that has been more helpful. Whether I'm buying or selling used books, placing special orders or looking for out-of-print editions, or figuring out which travel guide to get, they've been patient and professional. Add the books a modest number but high turnover and wide variety (used, new, children's, adult, academic, popular) and you've got the reason why this bookshop is, and will hopefully, be going strong! read more

Love this place. The owner and staff are über-friendly, they'll order books they don't have, and the selection, for the size of the shop, is unrivaled. I live in Kreuzberg and make regular trips to Prenzlauer Berg to buy my books from these guys. Every recommendation they've made has been bang-on. But it's also more than a bookshop! They also hold monthly speak-easy sessions and book launches. A gem. read more

Reviews on this place are solid. Best bookstore in Berlin. Most books are also used but in excellent condition yet still prices always under 10 euros, even hardcovers. I picked up some language books here to learn french brand new 2014 editions for 7 Euros. That is like unheard of. Bargins are for sure to be had here. Only thing is if you have issues with tight spaces, and this is because sometimes many people are all looking at once within the store, making it a bit crowded. However, the staff also is very nice and helpful if you need it/do not want to dig around people and just want to know if they have something specific. They also hold language events and book launches so this place is very cool to come to any day of the week. The atmosphere is very chill and they won't annoy you if you wander for hours and take a seat to see if you want to buy a book by skimming it. A must stop for locals or travelers to Berlin who speak english, love to read or just want to pick up some cheaper used but excellent condition books. read more

Probably one of the best bookstores in Berlin. Well curated collection of popular and not so we'll known authors from a large background of literary fiction (there's also trade fiction/pulp in the back). The owner knows his stuff, having read nearly everything in the store, and gives pretty good recommendations to hardcore readers and new readers alike without any pretentious attitude. Also able to track down rare books and order them, which is an extremely useful service for hardcore readers. read more
