Colleen and the Redbird team quickly helped us create a new floor plan to maximize space in our primary bathroom, plus pull and replace designs for two more bathrooms. They got to know our personal style, created design concepts that we loved, connected us with a contractor, and helped us navigate supply chain issues. The result: bathrooms that are beautiful, functional, easy to clean, and within budget.

She has a great eye for design and color and is easy to talk to and personable-- this was especially important to me since I wanted to work with someone that I can "click" with. There are tons of design options out there and I can easily spend multiple days just trying to pick out a single piece of furniture, let alone trying to make it look good and work with an entire room, so Colleen's services are invaluable. I just let her and her team do the hard work of putting together color palettes, layouts and mood boards and I tweak little details to my liking if I want. My entire house now looks instagrammable (can't help but notice how good rooms look in the background when I take pictures of the kids around the house) and I'm enjoying its looks as well as function every single day thanks to Colleen and RedBird!

My husband and I were excited to work with Debbie, initially. The $500 seemed steep for just a 2…read morehour consult, but we had just bought our first townhouse and were at a loss as to were to start in the design process. Positives: During our 2 hour visit Debbie there were a couple of helpful suggestions she shared with us (lighting, window treatments). After the visit Debbie also did return some of our emails that had follow-up questions. Overall, however, there were 4 things that just didn't cut it for us. 1. Debbie PUSHED her slobproof brand of furniture on us strongly. We were not interested in the styles that she was showing us in her catalog, and mentioned to her a couple of other brands that may work in the space (i.e. crate and barrel, west elm)...but she was dead set on trying to sell her OWN stuff. 2. We spent a LONG time talking about and looking for RUGS on line. She said that this is the first thing you need to tie the room together. Well many months later, we have fabulous living room (thank you Lydia from Arhaus in VA!) with a very subtle simple cream rug. 3. Her communication style was more of a monologue than a dialogue. I know 2 hours isn't a long time, but we felt that our style, needs, and habits weren't really being taken into consideration. #4: Angel W.'s previous comment reminded me of this: Lastly, Debbie did offer to come back at the Groupon price that was coming out soon thereafter. However a few weeks later she reneged on this promise stating in an email that she was only planning on returning because she was under the impression that we would be selecting fabrics for "a Slobproof! Sectional, chairs and some of the other items we discussed." Tying the upcoming visit to to our buying slobpoof furniture was erroneous on its face. We did not have another visit, nor did we purchase any of her furniture. We hope these insights can help improve the customer experience for the next guy.

I purchased a Groupon for some design services. On the day the Groupon went on sale, I contacted…read morethe owner to set up an appointment. She mentioned that she was overwhelmed by the Groupon sales and could not take appointments at that time. She said she would call everyone back individually to set appointment times. I never received a call. I always schedule appointments right away and put the date on my calendar. My life is busy and that system works for me. Because the owner never callled me, I forgot about the service. Time passed and the Groupon expired. I have been known to let Groupons expire and am totally fine with it so long as I choose to let it expire. I did not choose to let this one expire. I paid $100 for the service so I was not simply going to let it go, especially since the staff never reached out to me as promised. At this later date, I placed a call to Designing Solutions to get this cleared up. I was promised a phone call that once again never came. The two star rating is solely for poor customer service and lack of follow through. I have worked with many design consultants in the past, all of whom I would give 5 stars. My sister has actually used Designing Solutions and mentioned that their design skills are mediocre so perhaps I lucked out. Groupon (who provides amazing customer service btw), refunded me the money, so this review has nothing to do with me being bitter about the money. I just think it's important for potential clients to realize that they may have to put some effort into getting the attention of the Designing Solutions staff.

Bitarchitects provided a prompt response, prompt call phone consultation & next steps. Within 1 week of contact I was able to discuss my concerns, the engineer completed a thorough walk through of my home & gave me ample amount of time view discuss my concerns. More importantly they didn't drag out the walkthrough for hours!! I appreciate the honest responses to help distinguish between normal settlement & items that are concerning. I'm waiting on the written report (inspection was completed one business day before writing this review) to proceed with the fixes. I strongly urge spending time & money on an inspection from a structural engineer before spending $$$$ for repairs that aren't needed. Prior to contacting I had 2 vendors try to sell me solutions for problems I didn't have. The price I paid for the inspection literally saved me $$,$$$. My selection of Bitarchitects was because they heard my initial concern, were quick to provide service, & provided communication from initial inquiry to the day of service.

Terry Bitar and her team were great to work with every step of the project. They handled things large and small to successfully complete the project. It was easy to communicate with the team, both on big picture issues and on smaller logistical issues. Bitarchitects listened to us and provided us with options and expertise to navigate the task of structural reinforcements for our 100-year old DC home. I also appreciated that, in addition to talking through things, they neatly put things in writing so there was a clear documentation of the project. -- We had an urgent concern with a structural issue in our old house so we reached out to Bitarchitects based on their good reviews here. We received a prompt response and soon had an engineer evaluating our house. The engineer was thorough, helpful, and went above and beyond. He provided a lot of valuable insight both on site and then in a comprehensive written report. I also appreciate that Bitarchitects is able to help me find vendors to complete the work recommended in the engineering report. I have had a great experience from the start and would recommend Bitarchitects to other homeowners.
