We…read morewent with them because they could design some areas and spaces that we needed for our office, however, when executed, our designer did not think through that I am not 6 feet tall and I have to stand on my tip toes to reach the door handles to ALL of my upper cabinets (10 total)...would you be satisfied if you paid a large sum of money and you can't reach your door handles and nobody has even followed up with you after your project to see if you are happy with it after a month? I am still missing 2 drawers that they didn't cut right because of the pop-up plug that they didn't account measurements for. My 2 bottom file drawers have major space in between the files - poorly designed, total waste of space. The counter top which is a quartz is very thin and I recall the sample being much thicker. The installers - don't get me started. When I told the sales gal about it, she just gave me this blanket message about passing it along to the install manager. They didn't do anything about it, and the next day they cut in our garage and my daughter who was getting ready to go to college had all of her stuff in there, it had sawdust all over it and we had to wipe everything down because there was sawdust all over everything in our garage. They swept but they didn't account for the layers of sawdust on everything. Inside my office, they left tools all over my office desk, inside the cabinets, they left a ladder on top of my desk with a broom, tools just laying on the cabinets, there was a caulking gun leaking on top of my quartz countertop. There was sawdust all inside my cabinets and on my floors. I had to do so much clean up after they left throughout all the cabinets and my floors and dust everything top to bottom. There's a few issues with some splintering that we have not yet heard back from anyone and it's been a month since they finished. We've paid, A LOT of money for this office, it sure does seem like they took they money and ran. While the cabinets are nice, customer service is the worst I have ever experienced and there were a lot of things that did not get addressed.

For this next chapter in my life, I decided to "start from scratch" which included new home furnishings and accessories. My experience from beginning to end with Brooke Michel Design was splendid. From our initial conversations and my client questionnaire she was able to identify my design style, needs and desired colored palette. She developed two amazing design portfolios for me to review and I was able to pick and choose elements from each to create my final design portfolio. This portfolio served as the blueprint for my interior and exterior design choices. She picked pieces that were cost-conscious based on my pre-established budget and that were available at a variety of local and online retailers. She encouraged me to add my own style by picking a few items out myself (with her stylistic approval) that created a truly one of a kind design. The final product is an amazingly modern, but functional townhome with incredible indoor and outdoor spaces. Brooke and her team went out of their way to make sure that I was comfortable in my new space. I strongly recommend reaching out to her for both your small and large interior design needs.

A few years later, we listed our home for sale, but ultimately decided to take it off the market. That's when I reached back out to Lauren. I originally contacted her to help transform our screened-in porch into a more functional living space, but because she's so easy to talk to, our conversation quickly turned into everything we had hoped to find in our "next" home. As we walked through our house together, we realized that instead of moving, we could create our dream home right where we were. Every idea or wish I mentioned was met with, "We can do that." What started as one project grew into a complete transformation of our home. Lauren designed a beautiful custom kitchen and pantry, remodeled our screened-in porch and second-floor bonus room, and added thoughtful finishing touches throughout the house--from updated window treatments and wall treatments to area rugs and décor that finally made our home feel uniquely "us." One of the biggest challenges was that we lived in the house throughout the entire renovation. Lauren coordinated with every contractor to ensure they understood our situation and worked to keep the project moving while minimizing disruptions to our daily lives. Whenever an unexpected issue came up, Lauren was just a phone call or text away with a solution and a clear plan for moving forward. The project has now been complete for a few months, and we still find ourselves looking around our home in amazement. Lauren saw possibilities we never would have imagined and turned them into reality. Instead of moving, we ended up with a home that feels like it was always meant to be ours. We couldn't be happier with the experience and would recommend Lauren without hesitation.
