I emailed two potential handymen about a simple set of jobs -- we needed the TV mounted, curtain rods hung, shelves put up, a tapestry hung. We had to emergency move and didn't have time to do those tasks ourselves -- it all would have been put off. Jeff responded right away through Yelp and then when I reached out he answered the phone and told me it would be no problem, just tell him when and where to show up. He was on time and basically told us to point at what we wanted and where -- it was amazing. In an hour, Jeff hung up two floating shelves, a tapestry, three long curtain rods and mounted our TV -- it took us 2 hours just to do the TV, so we were over the moon! He is fast, doesn't waste time and he does great work. Multiple times in the past couple of weeks, anytime we even a nail in the wall or tried to fix anything, we were like "we should have called JEFF!"

When Cory came out to see the place, we had a great conversation. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly eager to do good work. That eagerness turned out to be exactly what we needed -- we had a growing list of repairs and no one to call. We've since hired them for two small projects -- and I say "them" because Cory and Mary-Kate are a team, a package deal. Both jobs were done quickly, done well, and at a fair rate. Mary-Kate handles the advertising, booking, and invoicing, and she communicates clearly and warmly throughout the whole process. If you're looking for reliable local handyman services, I'd strongly suggest getting on their calendar while you can -- we'll be regulars on their schedule while we fix up our own old house!

Given Chris' performance on this project I highly recommend Chris Hurley and sons. Alex

The original masonry project was for $500. This included the contractor paying for materials (the…read moreconcrete and the "parge" materials). I then asked him if he can do a railing with the understanding since it is not his expertise that I was buying the railing and the screws. This project was originally quoted over a phone call for $300 which he then tried to ask for more and I told him if he was not sticking to his word that he could take the railing project out and continue on with work on the chimney only. The remainder of the chimney (his expertise so materials like the first job should have been included in the job quote) was to be $500. He stated he would stick to his quote to complete the requested job (railing and chimney) for $850 the 50 extra for the concrete screws needed to complete the install of the railing. Once he completed the railing he requested to be paid $500 now $300 for the chimney. I agreed to this with the understanding that the chimney would then be knocked down to 300. He then back tracked multiple times trying to get more money for the chimney by sending materials costs to me (which any contractor should already have factored this into the quote and like was previously factored into the original quote). I then declined services after calling out the inconsistencies. He then proceeded to text me again to apologize for not sticking to his word and "being a good guy" would complete the project as originally stated. Which I then refused again. He proceeded to send a long message trying to justify all his actions and lack of sticking to his word. I would never hire this company again as they clearly are not professionals with quoting out jobs and blaming the consumer that they didn't do things properly.
