I was shopping for a client with midcentury taste who likes pieces with a story behind them, and this was the perfect stop. It's a great mix of time periods and style. I received help from various people working here, and all were kind and generous with their time, even as they let me circle the store for an hour figuring out which pieces I wanted to get. Any question I had was met with an enthusiastic response. The store has an incredible and eclectic selection of lighting, home decor, art, and furniture... and it all ranges from antique, to mid-century, right up to today's contemporary trends. I saw so many great things while I was there that it's hard to re-cap and I know that on my next visit there will be plenty of new offerings. The layout is open, everyone is very friendly, and the artists are promoted both in the store and on their website. I, at first, thought I was in a soap store, Candlefish is at the north end of Ponce City Market close to the parking lot. It's a nice, open, bright space, with welcoming and friendly employees. After I realized that it was multiple various candle scents that I was smelling at the same time, a smiling employee came to me, and told me to let her know if I needed any help and if she could help me find anything. I told her that I was just looking. After picking up a variety of candles, such as mimosa, pina colada, Bloody Mary, and others, and smelling each of them, the candles started smelling similar. Not that they actually did smell similar, it's just that the scents throughout the store were just overwhelming me. This was my queue to leave. I will most likely be back to take a closer look at what Candlefish has. The store smelled really nice.

Asked to speak to management, spoke with Nicholas A., he didn't know why the fabric hadn't been delivered, found out there was a delay. This began a continuous communication where I contacted him every two weeks, and he assured me it would be sent to me soon. In May (!) he said they found out there was an issue with the manufacturer, but although they couldn't understand why there was a delay, they would continue to work on it. In June I saw Ballard online was guaranteeing new shipments within 3 days, contacted Nicholas and he assured me my shipment would go out by June 18. It is now June 23 and my order is still "in process" and no shipping target. I love the fabric, but my open house has come and gone, my family has visited and left, and I still don't have the fabric for my new dining room chairs. An altogether disappointing experience
