I had been having an extra tense day and as soon as I walked into the office my stress began to dissipate. The greeting area & waiting room is beautiful, hot tea waits and soothing aromas filled the air. I sat down on their cozy couch & listened to the chimes in the small founding gently sing. Todd greeted me & guided me back to the treatment room, again, beautiful space, and spoke with me for a bit about what had been happening & why I had come. I told him I was nervous about the needles & had been having a rough time lately. There was such a wisdom & gentleness about him & he reassured me he would work to ease my stress. Within minutes of laying on the table (fully clothed) he began to apply the non evasive/non puncturing needles. It felt like warm pressure being applied & then began to feel like warm tingles in the places he was placing the needles. I started to really melt into an altered state of consciousness, feeling super relaxed. By the end of the session, by the time I sat up, I felt like I was a different person from when I walked in. I was truly amazed that such a transformation had taken place. After the treatment he talked with me about how I felt and I told him how much I was impressed. He then shared with me one of his specialties is melting the stress from he refers to as the "Tired but Wired" phenomenon. He also shared he'd written an article about it & I of course checked it out, it's all so true. I've had several session with Dr. Maya as well to help me with some hip/neck issue. The front desk staff takes your temperature before you sign in and they sanitize the pens/high touch surface frequently. I've never had any issues with them that is inaccessible to my deafness. The facility is beautiful inside and out. I have not had to wait more than 5 minutes to be seen after getting check in as soon as I walk in. They are a little flexible with their appointments - I was scheduled to work one day I had an early appointment set && they had no problem changing my appointment to later in the day. So convenient. (Mind you, they do have a fee for cancelation within 24hours OR no shows, so idk if they always approve the switches on such short notice.) The clinic told me what it would cost without insurance and I told them it was more than I could afford at that time. They said they understood and would check on my insurance coverage for me and let me know, so I gave them all my info and left them to it. When I didn't get a call back, I didn't think much of it (I was busy...lots of medical stuff going on) and assumed all was okay. I showed up for my appointment and they had me complete all their forms, but said nothing about any lack of coverage. As soon as I finished with my appointment, the front desk person informed me that my insurance wasn't going to cover anything and I had to pay the originally quoted price (the same amount that I told them I couldn't afford...it included a large "new patient" fee in addition to the treatment amount). They clearly knew this before my appointment and just neglected to tell me. When I told them about my previous phone conversation with their staff, their response was "we don't know who you spoke with" and "we've had a lot of turnover recently" (in less than 2 weeks since making the appointment?? Really?) and blamed me for not calling my insurance directly. I left feeling totally scammed and broke (down about 5 weeks' worth of grocery money).
