this was the highlight of our trip to cancun...
my daughter has this love for dolphins ever since we took her to see her first dolphin show at the GA Aquarium... every summer we try to do something for her to go see dolphins, did SeaWorld Orlando and SeaWorld San Antonio just to go see dolphins... so while in Cancun decided to surprise her and my son with doing a package to swim and play with the Dolphins, I heard and read such good reviews with this place I decided to book the Primax 4 at the Interactive Aquarium....
first off this place is in La Isla shopping center, which is in the heart of Hotel Zona... getting there was easy since Delphinus picked us at the hotel, it was quick ride of 5 mins... it's at the center end of the mall... price is high so be warned ahead of time, the 4 of us cost $600 USD if you book ahead, or $159 per person when you buy at the ticket office....
before getting to the where the dolphins are you have to walk thru an aquarium, there isn't much to see but still interesting...
once we got to dolphin area, you are given a brief 10 min instruction on what to do and what not to do... you walk down the stairs change into your swimsuit and take a quick shower...
your given a locker and life vest and then into the water... our Dolphin was male, name was Y, and the instructor again goes over a brief instructions... I forget his name, but he was great...
the whole thing was supposed to be an hour, but we were in the pool for at least an hour and half, we got into the pool at around 2:30 but by the time we changed and washed it was 4:30... so maybe we got lucky who knows...
but the whole experience was amazing, Y took a liking to my daughter, although we were told to just pet and touch the between the blowhole and tail, my daughter was actually hugging him, he would swim away and come back around to be held again, amazing.... didn't like me too much, I only got to pet :(... but amazing none the less.... the high light was when got a push ride from Y.... really fun and amazing...
only complaint was the picture package, it was very expensive but we bought the middle package $200 or so dollars...
I recommend anyone who is visiting Cancun to swim with the dolphins... it will be one of the best experiences in your lifetime... read more
