History

Established in 1984.

Inter-State Aviation, Inc. started with one Super Cub and business college student in 1974. Doug Gadwa was a little older U of Idaho student that thought he would practice what they were preaching in class. and started a aircraft rental and instruction company with the one aircraft and soon created a small corporation to finance other aircraft. With some airplane lovers on board the company Inter-State Air was formed operating out of a small airfield call Staley Field. Soon the location was out grown and Doug bought into the operation at the Pullman Moscow Airport and partnered with Craig Fountain to form Inter-State Aviation, Inc. in 1984 with six aircraft and $700. in the bank the Spring flying season ahead made slow growth to what the business is today with 14 aircraft and 14 employees. Inter-State is the Region 1 Forest Service's Fixed Wing Contractor with the most aircraft and pilots. ISA is also a UPS contractor flying freight daily between Lewiston and Grangeville Idaho.

Meet the Manager: Doug G.

From Sumner,WA moved to Moscow, ID in 1974 to attend U of I and started a flying business in college. Married with two grown children. His wife helps at the business and he says she is the hardest working employee the company has. Started flying at age 18 and got his CFI in 1984. Still enjoys flying after 40 year in the business. Sometimes finds time to do things like riding a snow mobile.
