I went to see Timur when I had runner's knee and it was so bad I found it hard to even walk. Not only did Timur help fix this but, as he's also a running coach, he taught me how to run correctly to avoid injuries. After months of no workouts, it was truly a blessing to start running again. By becoming more aware of every movement I made as well as of every breath I took, I basically learned to listen to my body while exercising. I had a few other problems too - for instance, an old wrist injury that didn't seem to go away, and that made it difficult for me to do pushups. Timur fixed that too, I couldn't believe it didn't hurt anymore. I couldn't recommend Timur more, he's awesome and really good at his job and I miss being able to see him in the Bay Area. read more

Working with Timur was helpful in many ways, not just for my running. I learned to become more sensitive to my body, feeling and releasing into little tensions to help the whole of my skeletal/muscular/energetic system work cohesively and with more ease. I've had chronic digestive issues for years and also had head injury that resulted in a concussion about a year before starting to work with Timur, and he helped me navigate both of those through bodywork, referrals to other professionals and for other practices, and running coaching. I felt more ease in my body with running as a result of our work together. Timur also met me where I was: I wasn't really sure if I wanted to work on increasing my distance for races or anything like that-- I wanted to just see what was possible for this particular body, to see what felt right, and to keep running while remaining open to increasing distance or speed as it felt right. My main goal was to be more integrated, and Timur helped me so much with that. read more

Timur is a wealth of knowledge related to body movement and mechanics. He not only is able to help you heal through passive massage, but uses an active massage to expedite results. Additionally, his guidance with physical therapy related exercises/movements create a systematic approach to help you heal and more importantly help you learn how to keep your body ailments balanced/maintained. I saw Timur over a period of about 9 months to primarily address affects from an old nerve injury that caused muscle atrophy and resulting muscle imbalances that were causing pain. Within those 9 months, I was able to regain balance and strength between my shoulders which alleviated pain. Timur used a combination of massage and exercise homework to help me regain strength and balance within my body. We also worked on functional range conditioning for my whole body and running mechanics during that time. read more

My experience working with Timur was truly enlightening. I've gone through life a bit like a battering ram, eschewing stretching in general and ignoring my body when it's trying to communicate with me. I admit that I was skeptical at first about exploring the subtle movements of various muscle groups but then things started clicking in my brain and a window was opened into the deep and fascinating world of fascial engagement. Timur is a remarkable teacher and has an impressive ability to explain complex ideas and movements in a ways that make sense, even when our meetings were online instead of in person. He taught me to identify the cause of random aches and pains that pop up when I'm training and resolve them before they progress to major issues. And aside from that he's such a kind, friendly, and peaceful person to be around! read more

Long story short, through injuries (martial arts and cycling), at age 60 I couldn't sit cross-legged for more than a couple of minutes without intense pain. Now, after working with Timur, I can sit cross-legged pain free for 20 minutes. Timur also gave me a couple of stretches I do daily that are further improving things. There are some more subtle results too. Every day I do about two hours of standing qigong and neigong. Being able to stand effortlessly, in the correct posture, correct weight distribution - these are daily topics of practice. Before I worked with Timur when I stood up "straight" about 70% of my weight was on my right foot, and the rest of my posture skewed to the right. Now, automatically, my weight is spread 50-50 between left and right foot. The weight is distributed evenly around the edges of my feet and the weight is correctly balanced heel to toe. I've effortlessly increased the default width of my walking stance. I'm much more in my body, my weight and my energy are more able to 'sink'. I can make better connections between my arms and my spine. I've been a martial artist on and off for almost 40 years, and at different times I've injured my feet, ankles, knees, hips, shoulders, wrists, and spine. I've tried a lot of different kinds of body work. Timur produced some truly impressive results, and I recommend him without reservation. read more

It's a minor miracle. Really. I'm not kidding. I went to see him for my bunions. Now, I'm restoring my body from the streaky onslaught from chronic inflammation. What impresses me the most is that he has the mental and emotional space for us to work TOGETHER intuitively transforming my being. It's hard, it's gentle, it's allowing, it's work. It's the next leg of my journey to being fully alive. There are not enough words for this. Just do it! Exceptional total-person work! It's definitely the next level kind of approach I was looking for in terms of working with my rheumatoid arthritis. read more

I've been a runner since high school but have always struggled with injuries when I've trained for distances longer than 10k. By working with Timur I was able to complete my first half marathon and then my first marathon this year! There is no way this would have been possible without Timur's help and advice. I am incredibly grateful. If you are here considering whether or not to work with Timur, just do yourself a favor and contact him. read more

I found Timur at the end of my marathon training but wish I had his coaching from the beginning. He was recommended to me 6 weeks before the Paris marathon. I was overtrained, disenchanted, and my injuries were settling into chronic conditions. We only had half the time he dedicates to a standard coaching schedule. One aspect I most appreciate about working with Timur is his flexibility and adaptability to respond to his clients unique needs. He introduced me to a mediative pre-run flow practice. He provided a personalized training schedule to support where I was mentally and emotionally. And he coached me on race day strategy and tactics. The two most impactful aspects were the reposturing bodywork, which alleviated the shin splints and lower back pain, and helping me become emotionally unstuck. I fell in love with running again just in time for the marathon! read more

Timur is a miracle-worker! I had been experiencing severe carpal tunnel-type pain in both arms for months, and after trying a variety of treatments, I was referred by a friend to see Timur. After about four sessions, the pain in my wrists had completely disappeared, but I kept seeing Timur because we had tapped into some major posturing and hip issues that were the root of a lot of my body pain. I recently moved to NYC and haven't been able to find anyone to replace exactly what Timur did since he combines so many types of healing therapies and knowledge. I would highly recommend a consultation with Timur before turning to Western therapies. I had a coworker with similar carpal tunnel issues and ended up getting surgery because that's what her doctor recommended. She has been in extreme pain ever since and has relied on pain medication as a remedy. And after all the medical expenses, it turned out to be the more expensive route as well! read more

Timur is a truly gifted body worker. I contacted him when I realized the entire left side of my body felt heavy and tight when walking. Over a series of sessions, he not only manually helped to free up the tension, but also taught me invaluable exercises to do on my own, and truly helped me understand what I was doing with each movement. He is intuitive, extremely knowledgeable, and a kind man. I highly recommend him. read more

Timur is extremely knowledgeable about the body, and he has worked with me to design exercises and bodywork tailored to my particular problems. I love the way he thinks like a scientist and is always learning. If he tries something with me and I don't see improvement, he concludes that we need to try something different, and I love this. (Other experts typically tell me I need to keep doing their recommendation for a longer period of time: if at first it doesn't succeed, try harder.) Timur has a wealth of knowledge about the biomechanics of muscles and fascia, and he has put it to good use for me. He's helped me relieve serious pain in my neck and in my low back. Now we are working on my ankles, which is helping me a lot with problems in my hips. read more

Timur's innovative approach to pain management and recovery following sports-related trauma or surgery will absolutely change your perspective on how you deal with these injuries! Say goodbye to expensive physical therapy treatments or treatments that rely heavily on medication. read more

I second the review that mentions Timur's lowkey but powerful tools. I worked with him to set up a running regimen, but it became quickly apparent to me through great conversations that I needed to process my labor and delivery experience before I could start to really heal and get stronger. It took months before I was ready to lace up my running shoes, but now I have the confidence to stick to a plan. If you are looking for someone who will kick your butt, he can do that, but for me, it was moving away from A-type goal setting, coming to terms with the fact that it's not about the end-result, and working with the mind/body body to create a lifelong process. read more

I honestly do not even really know how to put it into words what Timur does. Timur's work is great for any athlete. I am a swimmer. I also have had some traumatic body stuff. He told me he could help with my movement in general. Timur has some pretty subtle yet powerful tools in his toolbox. He has a background in psychology, was a competitive runner (he won the US Half Marathon in 2011 and the 2012 LA Marathon open division), studied movement under a martial art master and has a TON of abstract body working techniques that he incorporates in the way he works with his clients. After working with him, I am connected to my body in a new and different way. I move with more ease and understand how to leverage all the muscles, tendons, breath and organs in a way that is efficient and makes me feel graceful. Please just reach out to him! he does an free initial moving session with you so you can get to know him and he can get to know you better- take him up on it! I promise, you will learn at least one new thing from him. read more

Can't say enough about Intensional Running!! I'm pretty active and have run into a few minor injuries here and there and Timur was unbelievably thorough and attentive to my needs. His knowledge about the body is unlike any healer I've encountered, and the pairing with energy work alongside is SO important. As with any injury I've had, there's always mental stuff attached and Timur is GREAT at addressing the physical and mental needs that got me back to running my best pace in no time! I can't recommend Timur enough for a holistic approach to getting your whole self up and moving in its best way! read more

When I started with Timur I could barely run a block without gasping for breath. In just a couple sessions I started to move my whole body differently, with more ease and strength at the same time. He knows the small adjustments that make a big difference. Timur is great at coaching the mechanics of running, but it's just as much about the inner game. I'm not just running better and more easily (and without gasping), but (literally and figuratively) moving through my life differently. It's been completely transformational. read more

Wow! Some very good work happening here, folks. Not only am I a runner, but I'm also a acupuncturist and have done my fair share of Qi Gong/energy work. Timur is an amazing practitioner. He helps you get in tune with your energy and applies that masterfully into running. I feel like I have a whole new level of awareness, strength, and endurance in my exercise regime. He makes running into an energetic art form. Thank you, Timur! Highly recommend. read more

Timur has honestly been a game changer in my life. I was very skeptical and didn't have high expectations since I didn't know much about repostural bodywork. I was still nursing an 6 month old sprained ankle injury that wast healing. On my first session he connected all the dots and explained how all my other previous injuries hadn't healed properly in my body. I had been so many physical therapist and I wasn't getting anywhere. I just wanted answers to why I was dealing with so many random issues. He blew my mind when I learned they were all connected. I am a chef and I learned to just deal with all the chronic pain that came with that line of work. He started knocking out one by one and before I knew it he had addressed my scoliosis, hip pain, IT band scar tissue, jaw pain and sprained ankle. In the process, he explained how my body works and taught me stretching exercises that will help me avoid further injuries. It's easy to forget about pain when it disappears but I'm still amazed and very grateful. Thank You. read more

My body is so much happier and healthier because of my sessions with Timur. As a former ballet dancer and currently very active person, he immediately honed in on what I needed. In our Clean Slate and Reposturing sessions, I received intensional movement training. Timur fixed my chronic shoulder pain with reposturing bodywork; he also recommended correctional stretches that addressed chronic alignment issues. We kept my shoulder pain happy with some fascial training - specifically working on maintaining a wrist-ankle connection during running. It helped me think of my body as a whole - one, effortless moving entity. I never realized I could bend my elbows while running! In addition to all of the body-focused work, Timur maintained a beautiful awareness of and responsiveness to any emotional and psychological factors that impacted sessions. This multidimensional approach helped me explore what running and movement meant to me in each session and overall in my life. Timur is an excellent guide, coach, and mentor in the art of intensional running. read more

Timor is a healer. He listens. He observes. He uses his hands to realign the body for optimal health. I was feeling pretty depleted and highly disappointed after a 8 month cancer treatment spell. I kept thinking that the world of Health Care should be referred to as Health Care Less. Then I had a new set of issues and the physical therapist and I collectively decided that together we were not making any headway on my neck injury. I remember he referred me to Timor. I came well prepared for my first meeting with MRI scans and all my printouts from doctors and PT notes. He gently asked me to put those papers on the chair and walk towards him. He asked me to walk away. He asked me to do a few other things. Then he set out to work. He fixed my neck pain and the radiating tingling that came along with it. Then he fixed the plantar faciliatis that I had for years. He broke up scar tissue that had formed from my cancer surgery that prevented full arm motion. I loved my time with Timor. If he didn't move to Portland - I do believe that he would have fixed all of me. I am an active person who loves to be outside enjoying my sports. Timor gave me the joy of that back. I think he is amazing. You will too. read more

I was referred to Timur by my chiropractor to help improve my running skills. Unfortunately, I did not heed my chiropractor's advise and a year later I come limping in to seek Timur's help with a horrible case of planters fasciitis. With reposturing bodywork, fascial training, stretching, techniques to improve running, mental awareness and body work, Timur has brought me from pain at a level 10 getting out of bed with constant pain all day to waking up pain free! I am a mindful runner now with the ability to read my body and the tools to take care of my feet, body and mind. Timur is highly knowledgeable and professional with every aspect of my recovery and treatment. I run endurance races and obstacle course races which are very hard on the body. I am so happy to have Timur in my life for all my future body tune-ups. I am a happy runner again!! read more

After many years of running marathons, the miles were starting to take a toll on my body and running just didn't feel good anymore. Specifically a flare up of Plantars Fasciitis was happening on my right foot. I had seen pictures of the work Timur has done with people with bunions and knowing that he had been a professional marathoner made him the right choice to help me reignite my love of running. Timur addressed the muscular imbalances that were causing the PF and gave me exercises to help correct them. During our sessions he worked gently to correct the PF and within a few sessions it had completely disappeared. What was extremely helpful were the prescriptive stretches that he taught me to keep the PF from reoccurring. I've just started a new training cycle and am grateful for the work I've done with Timur as I know that I can now approach running with much more joy and fewer injuries read more
