I am *that* person in the class. But you really can modify the workouts and adapt them to what you're capable of. 90% of the floor exercises are literally impossible for me to do correctly at my fitness level, so I just do whatever version of them I'm able to, or I skip to the next one. The coaches may gently correct your form, but they aren't going to hassle you - they respect that everyone in the class is at different levels. Plus, they can see how hard you're trying because everyone's color level (gray, blue, green, orange and red) is displayed on a board on the wall. So in my case, it may look like I'm slacking because I can barely do anything, but all they have to do is look up at the board to see that I'm in the red and am actually dying! It's comforting to have that up there to prove that I'm doing my best. Both classes, I've burned 500-600 calories, and the hour goes by super fast because you're switching pretty quickly between activities. It's great for people like me who usually get extremely bored working out. Afterwards, they email you your workout summary with the calories you burned, splat points you earned, etc. It'll also show up in the app if you have it. This is very helpful if you're trying to lose weight and are a calorie-counter. The unlimited membership is the best deal ($179 per month to go to as many classes as you want.) I signed up for it today and am really excited to start seeing results!

There are various Planet Fitness locations nearby if you like. I just don't like the purple and yellow color scheme honestly. Take the free tour to see the place. Get a three day pass. Staff is friendly and nice, to me. Based on other reviews, looks like your mileage may vary depending on who you talk to. If signing up, ask them to explain in detail ALL the fees that you should expect as a member. If super concerned, make sure to get everything in writing. Most people aren't rating the place based on the gym facilities, which are great to me, but for the pricing, unexpected fees and confusing cancellations process.

Finally, the staff here is fantastic. They genuinely appear to love working there, and they want you to have a positive experience.

I have hired a number of personal trainers in the Danbury CT area over the last 15 years and my experiences have been from disgusted to helpful and good. Some trainers have put me on machines, count reps, while looking at their phone, and telling me to run on a cardio machine for 10 minutes to "warm up" amidst my paid session!....This is not acceptable when I am paying around $60/hr! Other trainers are more engaged, and had me use free weights which are a lot better than machines to burn calories. However, a few of these trainers pushed heavy weights on me which I DID NOT feel comfortable lifting at the risk of getting hurt! I have had a couple good trainers that got me in better cardio condition but I sadly never seemed to lose weight because they didn't talk to to me about my nutrition. I had a 45 minute in depth consultation with the coaches at TFW and then they evaluated by body composition with this fancy machine that even let me know my water weight. Then they explained everything and let me know what I need to improve on, how they can help through both training and especially nutrition and would re-evaluate me monthly to make sure my numbers are going in the right direction and I am happy with my results! I have been coming to TFW 4 days a week for the last 6-1/2 months and I have a training package(without contracts) that has me doing a 1on1 session with the owner Andreas & 3 1-hour group classes with his associate Debra. They both push me & motivate me safely to my potential and I always feel like I got a great workout feeling good and wasn't crushed above my means. The other clients in the groups are really nice, supportive people that I have gotten to know personally and can call them my friends. A great friendly environment where I feel like part of a family. I highly recommend checking out TFW. They have a big, spacious facility where I am not worrying about being to close to others and they truly care for their clients. Sincerely, Susan
