Passive-aggressive landscaping at its finest...err, worst…read more Contracted with them after damage from Hurricane Sandy (prices written on the back of a business card 'We don't use contracts'...but I needed the work done ASAP so I ignored my inner warning bells). Turns out that in phase 2 of the job they had an internal communication error about the scope of the work (remember...no contract?). If there was any part of this that was amusing (well, more pathetic than amusing), it was that the owner called his wife on the phone to call me, rather than talk to me directly 30 feet away. I wouldn't agree to pay any more (nothing worse than being nickled and dimed at the end of a $1500.00 job that was priced on the high side to begin with)...so she hung up on me, called him, they yanked their trees and left--all without a word to me, and all over a relative pittance. Avoid them at all costs; hire someone with a modicum of professionalism..and ALWAYS get a contract with the scope of work clearly delineated.

No, absolutely not. I selected this company last spring to grade, seed and re-seed the yard at my…read morejust built home. I was given a date they would come out (Mid-late May 2022). Once June came and they didn't show up, I started the emails to find a new date (mind you, they had already 50% of the fee as a deposit). At that point, I was told to go ahead and put in my front garden that they wouldn't blow the seed into the garden (I had 8 rose bushes that have been in pots for almost 2 years at that point. I graded, primed the area and added the landscape fabric along with the bushes). I continue to email through June and July and when emails did come in they were excuses and the next projected time they could come out. They never showed up until early August and then started to press me for the remainder of the balance before they even did the final seed (which was supposed to be a month later!) I waited a little more than a month and in September, I had to email to find out when they were coming back for the final seed. It took them a month to get back to me, they showed up end of October, walked around for about 5 minutes and left (I was home, I was watching!). My yard looks AWFUL. They DID get grass seed in my garden (when they said they would avoid it. I am currently pulling out the grass that was "planted" last year on my landscape fabric that is strangling my roses. I have a patch where my dogs go to the bathroom that is lush and green (because of their natural fertilizer). My sand mound contains 75-95% weeds. The rest of the yard is patchy and hardly the "amazing grass" we were promised. As for grading, we have a growing pond in the front yard, a stream from one side of the yard to the other that collects in a long pond in the back yard. I walk the grounds and kick up stones and fall in ditches that aren't animal made. What a waste of money! Avoid at all costs!

I called just about every shop in the area that works on diesel and all of them told me that they didn't want to work on it, a few people even laughed at me, said "no thanks" and hung up on me. Dave was very kind and helpful on the phone and said that if I could get it to their shop they'd look at it first thing in the morning. We managed to limp the bus over to the shop. Dave was still there when we arrived (it was evening) and he was kind enough to give us a ride to our motel. Aaron had the bus fixed by noon the next day. We had another complication as we drove another 30 miles up the road, and Aaron arrived as quickly as he could and jumped through hoops to get us back on the road. After that last hiccup, we made it back to CT safe and sound and the bus drove wonderfully. I've never had such a pleasant experience with a mechanic shop. These folks know what they're doing and they care. Dave even called us after we left to wish us safe travels. The competence and the kindness were truly overwhelming. It's one of those experiences that makes you feel better about humanity.
