The scary part if it took this long to do something simple on my little dinky 4 cylinder econo box vehicle, how long would they take to do something complicated on a car that is more robust. My wife and I will never return. I know our little dollars we spend for car repairs will not hurt them but I feel as a consumer I have a right to fair and honest service, if it was going take longer and they were short staff, I should have been informed. I schedule the appointment with the basis that there would be more than one person working and that was not the case. I am still in the need for a better auto mechanic service and will continue my search. You live and learn.

Fortunately for…read moreme, unfortunately for my kid, I knew all about these wanna-be mechanics from a few years back. Long story short - their head mechanic didn't know how to check oil properly on her Nissan crossover? (name escapes me) Three times in the shop and they tell her the oil is over full. I go in, act dumb and ask if they could show me how to check the oil since I got blamed for it anyway "your dad is over filling it" Stooge pulls dip stick and proclaims "see overfill again by twice" Me - "flip that dip stick over" Dude had no words because the other side had NOTHING on it because they drained 5 quarts the day before because "it was overfilled" I promptly asked the gentleman "if you toss a stick in a bucket of oil, is it possible to only get oil on one side of said stick?" Note: these cars/engines have an oil drain back hole directly above the dip stick which covers it with oil several inches up the stick, on one side. Even a moron knows to wipe the stick and reinstall to check and look at both sides. A not-so-certified village idiot should know these cars are best checked after they have sat awhile, regardless this poor village idiot was happy to run out 5 minutes after we arrived and check it without ever having a towel in mind. Way to go imbecile. Needless to say, it never left the place and the motor was hammering because they told her to run it and I want putting oil in it again for them to blame me for overfilling. A few days later we stopped in and find in an attempt to get the warranty co to pay for a motor, they blew it up. The one lucky actually told us what they were doing. Obviously totally oblivious to the fact he was saying they were trying to commit insurance fraud. Good luck if you go here or if, like my kid, AutoMax sends you here because their shop is backed up. These geniuses will fix your vehicle right up like Dewey, Cheatum & Howe, attorneys at law would fix you up on legal issues. Well, that statement isn't fair. The 3 stooges deserve more credit than that when it comes to being lawyers.

My family (parents and grandparents) have been customers of this garage for decades. Instead of…read moregoing to my normal inspection station, I decided to give this place a try. When I arrived in the morning, a man standing randomly within the garage first ignored me. After a few moments, he walked up to me and said "cards" and extended his hand. No other words were exchanged. After realizing he was asking for my proof of insurance and registration, I gave him the documents. Then he said: where are the keys?" I handed him the keys and he walked off. No sooner did I realize he was gone, I realized my car was also gone. For about 5 minutes I was seriously concerned that some random person may have just stolen my car. Eventually, after returning from what must have been a test drive (didn't realize that was normal practice) the inspection began. Communication was nonexistent until the owner told me that I would need 4 new rotors and brake pads. The grand total was quoted as being $381. I knew for a fact that the rotors were passable, so I asked to take a look. The mechanic that inspected my car showed me the rear brake pads, which I agreed needed changing. He then showed me the rotors and said: "the rotors are definately passable". When I returned to the waiting area, I asked the owner how long it would take if I did get everything replaced and if I would need to have someone pick me up. He responded by telling me he had already ordered the parts and that they would be delivered within the hour. So while the service was timely, I am annoyed that I was given two different stories and pressured into paying for repairs the person conducting my inspection said I didn't need. This may have been a fluke attributable to poor communication, but next year, I wil definately go back to my normal guy.
