I went to Dr. James, and he was great! He took the time to actually read my *entire* intake form,…read moreand we got started right away since I was running late. He spends all of his time on you, and it's a 1-1 personal treatment. At first I was concerned about the cost since it's not covered by insurance, but you do get what you pay for. He is extremely thorough, as well as a down-to-earth guy. Unlike other PT places where you keep coming back week after week and someone watches you do exercises, he gives you a comprehensive plan that you can implement as soon as you leave. You can come back for a follow-up session at a discount, but in my case, since mine wasn't a full blown injury, it won't be necessary for a long time. He'll guide you through the exercises and show the proper form for them, along with explanations for what those exercises train for. In the long run, it's a higher cost up front, but I think I'm saving *more* money (and time) than had I gone to a regular PT place week after week; plus, they wouldn't know what to do with my fingers. He's a climber so he understands what pains and aches you have! The office I went to was inside the First Ascent Avondale gym - super convenient to us climbers!

I followed the plan for the prescribed time and I felt significantly better! Through the plan he helped me work on my crimping technique and I now have far more tools available when I get out to the crag. Highly recommend seeing him for all your climbing PT needs!

My shoulder surgeon from Midwest Ortho was so impressed on the advanced range of motion I achieved, he wanted to know where I went for my PT. Absolute professionalism and your goals in mind, they begin with review of your injury alongside your doctor's PT order and put a personalized plan in place and are explained with client/patient. As you move through your stages of exercises, the therapist explains what muscles you need to engage, how and it's importance to your recovery. After working closely with therapy team, in time you move into doing your exercises somewhat on your own. You may think the therapist isn't watching closely, but any wrong move, you'll here a voice correcting your movements/tips on how you need to improve from the team. There front desk is welcoming and helpful with insurance and appointments working closely with the therapist who ensures your progress keeps moving forward. Your recovery and best health is the teams main goal for you to reach before you graduate and exit their doors as you say your goodbyes. So very greatful for all of their knowledge and encouragement in pushing me through each and every time I required PT. I wouldn't go anywhere else for my PT!

They also provide cupping and dry needle acupuncture. One of my favorite part is the soft tissue massage. Jessica is amazing with the soft tissue. I originally went due to a pulled muscle which eventually got worse and had a bulged disc. Long story short, I had a hard time walking and in constant pain and left with almost no pain. Some places may have asked to continue coming back because of good insurance coverage but Adam said you should be good to go and left on my last day with exercise equipment and printout of exercises that I can do from home. Liz started working half way through my visit and she is a great addition. One day I'm going to be able to do as many planks as her. Thanks Adam, Jessica and Liz.

Nicole also has a great personality so it was actually enjoyable to come to PT. As you progress in your journey, the exercises do get more challenging. Nicole is a great trainer of form which would make her an incredible personal trainer. The rest of the staff is also personable and professional. The front office staff is so nice and friendly but this is where the one star was lost. They do not have a good system for billing. They "forgot" to bill $120 worth of sessions. They owned the mistake but it was still annoying. My husband also had this happen to him at this location. They would be better office having the patient run the card each trip instead of having a card on file. They just need a better system. Past that, it's a great place with great people. If you can get past the weird billing inefficiencies, you will improve physically.

Well, because I'm so clumsy and accident prone, Omer has worked on almost every part of my body. Nora at the front desk is super helpful and friendly. Highly recommend this practice!

Marathon miracle worker!…read more I worked with Omer for the first time before the 2015 NYC marathon. I'm including a photo of a review I wrote after that (briefly, I was 90% positive I wouldn't be able to run it because my knee pain but after seeing Omer, I finished and felt awesome!) Fast forward to 2019, I was signed up for the Chicago marathon and having major muscle issues during training. I had already seen a different PT but it hadn't helped and I reached out to Omer about a month out from the race. At this point I could only run 4 miles straight without stopping. Long story short, after just a few appointments with Omer, I was able to run 20 miles straight (!!) and then later on finished the marathon (which I had been pretty set on deferring.) Other than just performing miracles, the thing that really is amazing about Omer is that he is so thoughtful and thorough about finding the problem and then finding the best, most effective ways to help. (Something I felt was lacking when I had seen other physical therapists.) Omer is one of the nicest, most welcoming people I've met in the health care field. He is easy to talk to, truly takes an interest in his patients and their lives, and is invested in helping them reach whatever PT goals they have. I could not recommend Omer higher for any type of physical therapy!!! I know if I run another marathon, I'm going to him first :)

I was here for for help with a joint problem. First 5 sessions were okay; made some progress…read more During the 6th session my therapist demonstrated a new stretch, then went back to his other patient. I put my limb in the position and was immediately in excruciating pain. When I informed the therapist, he told me only I should only stretch to the limit without pain. I do not think he understood what I was telling him, or he was too busy to pay attention. He then went back to his other patient. This meant my limb was no where near the same position for the stretch when I tried it again. When I was done, I stood there waiting for him to be done with his other patient. He then demonstrated another activity and went back to his other patient. I tried but was unable to do the activity in one position without excruciating pain. I told him that I could not do this. He told be to do the reverse set. When I finished, I waited again. He sent me to the other side of the room to perform other exercises that I had previously performed without serious pain. I was able to do them, but with some throbbing pain. The next day I was in quite of bit of pain, even in a resting state (this was not the case before). I called to cancel my next appointment. When asked why, I explained that I was in quite a bit of pain from the previous. When I say "pain", I do not mean "a bit sore from the workout", I mean pain that felt like I had been stabbed and the knife was twisted. This set me back to the beginning when my issue started. I played phone tag with the therapists, eventually I spoke to a Erin, who suggested that something could be done for my pain if I was able come in that day. I chose to go in with the lure of pain relief. When I arrived, it was clear that the therapist was there to do an evaluation to dismiss me from their services, not to relieve my pain, We both agreed there was not point in coming back, and I should contact my doctor for further evaluation (I had already made this decision right after the previous appointment). I indicated that I had been told there was something that might be done for the pain. The pain relief offered was tissue massage that had been performed prior, and a hot or cold pack. I can do heat or cold at home. The previous massage, while not painful, was never particularly pleasant, so I skipped all this and went home to use my own ice pack. Clearly that last visit that lasted 15 - 20 minutes was a waste of my time, and just an opportunity for ATI to close out the file. I do not blame the therapist for the specific activity that caused the excruciating pain, but I do blame him for being to busy to comprehend what I was telling him. Over 25 years I have been in physical therapy 3 other times (never ATI). I had always had positive experience, even when sent back to my doctor for further evaluation. I have never been to a facility where there therapist is too busy to pay attention to the needs of the patient.

If I have a lot of walking or stairs I feel pain before going in, and then after I have PT and exercises it feels so much better. I'd think after I got beat up with stability work and deep tissue massage it would be worse, but it's not. I'm happy I came here. The feeling and general mood of the whole place is very positive and upbeat. I've been to PT's elsewhere and it's like a morgue. Patients talk and laugh together here. It's great to keep your mind off of the pain and gives you something else to think about.
