I needed a couple of other things done also and asked to just keep it and try starting it. After it sat the weekend it finally would not start. It was the fuel injection relay. I believe this shop does sound mechanical work overall, but, as evidenced by my experience and a…read morefew more reviews on Google/Yelp, etc., the employees and owner have the potential to be extremely rude and volatile. Based on my experience and a few others who single out Ted by name in their reviews, I'm willing to bet everything goes swimmingly here until here until they need to compromise or admit a mistake. Then, it's a zero to sixty power play. I had my car serviced here for a timing chain last week and told them the front splash guard was damaged and asked for assessment. Was told that it could not be fixed - which I expected-- and they confirmed that it was not absolutely necessary. So, with my permission they removed it. Consequently, a day after bringing the car home, a smaller, secondary guard farther back under the car that had no damage before came loose at highway speeds. I duct taped it and brought it in to them, asking them to secure it because it had come loose after they finished work (it had not been re-secured as it should have after the larger splashguard had been removed by them--these guards secure at a shared spot). The trouble began at the front desk as Joey, working under assumptions, kept cutting me off as I spoke; he kept referencing the larger splashguard instead of the one I was describing. I repeated that I wasn't talking about that larger guard; I just wanted the smaller one re-secured. Then, after inspecting it on the lift once, they said nothing was wrong and they saw no duct tape. I was frustrated, and I pointed out the piece (covered in tape) when the car was back in the lot. They lifted the car again, and Joey at the front desk told me to go in the garage. In retrospect, I think he was setting me up by doing so. When I got to the car, the mechanic and the owner, Ted, were extremely aggressive, cutting me off repeatedly, telling me the guard was unnecessary and they would just take it off. I could barely get a word in to explain myself except to say that it hadn't been secured before leaving the shop. After saying I'd rather keep it on and secure it as it should have been, Ted, launched into invective--dropping f-bombs and calling me a "sh!@-head trying to blame us." I was stunned. I had countered their claims regarding cause, but I had never raised my voice or cursed at them once. I tried to de-escalate, asking him why he was treating me so disrespectfully, but he simply continued his aggressive tack, repeating"because you're trying to f*%c#ing blame us, sh!@-head." I told them to lower the car and that I was leaving. Ted followed me to the lobby where I was gathering my stuff and started in again. I told him he had no right to treat me this way. At this point, he told me I had to leave or he would call the police--an unbelievably passive-aggressive, gaslighting, cowardly move. Joey and several other employees just stood there sheepishly, as he falsely painted me as some kind of threat. This was, hands down, the most insane, irrational customer experience I've ever had. Something is not right here. Ted's reaction was not anywhere near an accurate or emotionally-stable response to the situation. Upon leaving, I told him that he just lost a customer and that I would be leaving a review; he made it clear he would attempt a rebuttal of my account. I can only hope against hope that it sticks to the objective, factual realm. Take my advice--this was aggressive, petty gaslighting behavior that does not deserve to be rewarded with patronage. To add insult to injury, they took off the duct tape I had applied, so the shield clattered and scraped along the ground the whole way home. Never coming back to this madhouse, and I suggest you avoid it, too. Again, I think they do good work overall, but you run the risk of being one of the few but increasing number of folks who discover that the owner Ted is unreasonable, immature, and highly aggressive when he is called on to act like an adult. Remember, this entire blowup was over the request of three minutes of labor and four clip fasteners
