In 2021 I spent $10,163.00 on 4 new ductless units. Upon completion, none of the units worked. Two were left with visible holes drilled in the wrong place, one unit was obviously not level. One installer told me my ceiling was slanted? I actually had to go to Mark with info on all 4 units showing times, result before he would send a repairman out. No refrigerant in the line to any unit. May 2025 I spent $15,885.00 on a new furnace and heat pump. When installed it did not work properly. Service call two days later, still not working properly. Did not use over the summer. November the service calls started again, until the repairman stopped communicating with me. It took a complaint to the Construction Contractors Board in January, eight and one half months after installation, for Warren to call me. Warren and Brandon came out, hooked up a loose wire, problem solved? I have no faith in the service calls, what I am told, or anything else from SOHAC, so now I must use a different company for maintenance and repairs. Michelle was always friendly and helpful. They were back yesterday to replace the old heat pump with an AC unit this time, and since we now have so much wildfire smoke over the summer, an iWave air purifier too. Extremely happy with the experience. Lee gave us a very competitive bid and patiently answered all of our many questions. The install team -- AJ, Mike, and Julio -- were awesome. Arrived on time, completed the job by 3:30, and left the basement furnace and outdoor AC space spotless. They were even sweet with our very friendly dog. Love working with a local business -- LamAir really cares about their customers.

Lam Heating and Air Installed my York system and we have had yearly maintenance contracts with them…read moreever since. I believe if someone shows up and does reliable service it's worth sticking with them. However, recently, I had a blower motor go out. It was a warranty claim. Given that the unit was intermittently working, I had them send a tech out for a second visit, which I paid for the same rate, who found that things were working perfectly at that time. I accepted that if it's not working consistently, it's worth replacing so I decided to move forward with the repair. We did get a second opinion from another company who said the warranty motor should be covered in the install of that was about a one hour job. It should cost between $375 and $450. Given that we had had all of our service done and the install by lamb Air, I went ahead and chose them given that they were processing the warranty claim even though their quote of 875 was dramatically higher. I will own that it was my fault for assuming, with no HVAC experience, that they accurately had an understanding of how long the install would take and priced it appropriately. I cannot say enough positive things about the tech who did the install Greg Stanton. He has come to our home multiple times over the years and provided exemplary service. Greg was able to replace and complete the job in less than one hour. I paid the full quoted price for the installation of this warranty covered blower motor of $875. I did however, then reach out to the manager of Lam Air and explain to them that while I understood they were a "fixed price company", I had trusted that they adequately estimated job costs based on their professional experience of the time that was required. I feel that $875 for a plug and switch repair like this that took less an hour... $875 was excessive. The manager basically thanked me for my opinion, knowing we were a lifelong customer but said "we are fixed price company... sorry". Lam Heating and Air got my $875... But lost my business going forward. While I feel Lam has excellent technicians I would avoid at all cost a company that does not price their jobs fair, or take into account ACTUAL install times. Unless you're independently wealthy and have no concerns about reasonable pricing I would suggest NEVER using Lam Heating and Air.

I called Caveman in the morning, they went to Medford and picked up an entirely new unit, took out the part I needed, and had it installed the same day so I would not have to wait for the individual part to be ordered. I could not be happier with the great customer service I received. In this case, I don't think a small business owner would have been able to afford to buy an entire unit to use one part. There service was above and beyond my expectations.

Our heat pump went out Sunday afternoon. Temperature was over 100. Looked up HVAC service near by…read more Janhke H&A was local. Website offered 24 hour contact. We texted and explained problem. AI explained that weekend service was available, but it would cost more. We called back Monday at 0800. A technician, Eric arrived within an hour. He covered his shoes and checked our hvac system. He explained that the fan on our 26 year old system froze up and had to be replaced. He explained what replacement would entail and provided an estimate for the repair. Since our hvac is 26-years old we asked him about replacing whole system. Eric said he could only give us information about fixing what was broken and another tech would have to talk to us about whole hvac replacement. Bobby arrived about 2 hours later. We researched CR for recommended whole hvac replacement before Bobby arrived. We knew what CR said about quality and pricing before he arrived. Eric had briefed Bobby and he knew where everything was. He rechecked everything and discussed with us parts and labor. Bobby covered his shoes also. Replacement was expensive. CR recommended getting repairs if you could due to costs, but in our case our hvac was on its last legs. And temps in triple digits were expected. The system was top rated and the cost was reasonable. Veteran's discount were applied. And we got a hospital rated filter too. Next morning at 0800 Zack arrived within two other techs. The covered their shoes, put canvas over all the floors and by 1600 all new systems were in place, inspected and Zack provided tutorials on maintenance and use of thermostat. I recommend Janhke H&A 110% . I could not imagine more professional and considerate service. 0% financing is also available.

When the Alpha Technician arrived, he said the compressor was no longer operational and since the system was so old the whole thing would have to be replaced. They quoted $9600 for a completely new unit. I called another heating and air company to verify replacement was really necessary. The technician found a disconnected wire on the compressor. Upon reconnection, the system started right up and is still working. After speaking with the office manager at Alpha Heating and Air, she apologized for the mistake of a inexperienced technician that left the ac unit inoperable from the disconnected wire. Alpha Heating and Air will compensate my distress with a full refund of the cost for this routine service call.
