Located in downtown…read moreEagle off State St, a small plaza of businesses, the parking lot was already pretty full when I arrived on a Wednesday before 11 am. Fortunately, another vehicle was pulling out and I found a nice spot with a bonus of a little bit of shade. Upon entering the office, which was modern and clean, I was immediately checked in by the front office receptionist. I was called in almost precisely at 11 am, my appointment time. Stormy took care of me. She was very nice, knowledgeable, and did a great job of explaining everything. My audiology exam was more thorough than I've ever had. Once the exam was over, Stormy began to talk to me about my options. My hearing loss, especially on the left, is profound, as she showed me on the exam results. She explained that I did have hearing aid insurance benefits, and said that they would be less expensive, but in her opinion, I needed a custom hearing aid to maximize my ability to follow conversations, especially in public , like restaurants, where the noise level is significant. She then explained that, if I wanted to go private and deal with their office, they had three levels of hearing aids. I did not feel pressured at all, but I felt that I needed the best hearing aid to improve my quality of life. I did not want to try and save money and compromise my ability to understand others' communication, and participate in conversations out in public. Even watching TV requires closed captioning, which my wife does not necessarily appreciate. Stormy took molds of my ears, and I am to return in two weeks to be fitted with my hearing aids. I will have one week to decide if they are worth it before committing to purchase. I am looking forward to receiving my new hearing aids, and will be updating this review once I try them out and see how much I benefit from them.

Tosha reviewed how important it is to wear hearing aids because it will diminish the exposure to dementia. There was so much helpful information she shared that I didn't receive when I first was issued hearing aids five years ago. I was provided temporary hearing aids which were awesome. I went to Trader Joe's after my appointment with temporary hearing aids. I could hear conversations from the next aisle. It was crazy overload but cool. I think my first hearing aids never worked correctly. When my new hearing aids arrived, I was provided information how to use them in detail. Within days though, my hearing aids would go off and on so I returned to the office. Tosha made some tech adjustments on my cell. FYI, each cell is different so be patient and tinker with it. Overall experience is a FIVE star plus!! I'm so happy I can hear now and I wear them all day. Thank you.

For those who have cochlear implants: Dr Strickland wants to charge hundreds extra for services…read morethat are billed to insurance with codes that insurance will not cover. This equates to HUNDREDS out of pocket for the patient. My son has cochlear implants and she is the only doctor that will reprogram them for pediatric patients in the treasure valley so her office literally told me "she wants to be paid for her extra training" in this procedure. What I have learned: Even if it is out-of-network, you can have the office contact your insurance for a "network deficiency" form and the insurance company will allow your out-of-network provider be billed as in-network. We went to Luke's by doing that and everything was covered by insurance.

Elise was assigned to my wife and she was exceptional. Very professional, caring, thorough, and empathetic. She listened to my wife's issues and needs and immediately begun some exercises to help. What we really like is that explained everything. Why was my wife feeling the way she did, and what these exercises were going to do to help. The exercises were great and helped my wife from the beginning and we only needed one more session with Elise. The following week, Elise, called my wife to check on her to see how she was doing. Elise deserves all the credit for caring helping hands.

I was seen by James Crawford in 08-09 when I was still in the Navy. He was an ent at Madigan Army…read moreMedical Center. I was newly diagnosed with meniere's and was sent to him to try to get the vertigo under control so I could stay in the Navy. I was first operated on in 08 with an endolymphatic sac shunt to equalize the pressure in my inner ear. The surgery failed and made my vertigo worse. Second surgery was performed in 09, Vestibular nerve Section, sever the balance nerve to my bad ear at the ear and brain stem. It fixed my vertigo but during the surgery they caused a stroke which left me with short term memory problems and impaired cognitive function and the most damaging was damage to my fifth cranial nerve. After the surgery I started having excruciating pain in my head, at a follow up appt my wife told them about how I had changed because of the stroke and about the debilitating pain. His resident said "we didn't cause it". I continue to have this pain to this day, because he caused that damage my Navy career ended at 17 years, three years short of retirement. He caused me to have trigeminal neuralgia. He destroyed my life, never let this butcher touch you. Unfortunately I can't sue for malpractice since at that time military couldn't and now it's outside the three year window. But if I could......

The audiologist who help me I believe her name was Larissa she was very knowledgeable and professional, and very friendly. She made me feel at ease through the whole process of the hearing test. I was able to get the results right away. I highly recommend the Idaho Elks hearing and balance center. I have had other hearing evaluation's and nothing came close to the one I had today. It was very thorough and they checked everything. I was very satisfied.
