In the midst of my evening delirium from caring for our infant son after a long day of chasing…read morearound our toddler, I noticed a couple of dark spots on our second floor ceiling. A bone-chilling thought occurred: We might have a leaky roof! We contacted Bone Dry Roofing, and I received a prompt call back. We were able to schedule to have someone come out to do a free estimate within a couple of days. John arrived on time and was very respectful of our home and our napping kids. He went in to the attic to take a look at spots where I reported possible leaks. I also asked him to take a look at our chimney since Bone Dry Roofing has masons on staff as well. After taking his time to thoroughly check out our attic, including taking pictures of all locations of interest, John went on to our roof to further inspect everything. The end result? He told me that the moisture I noticed is actually very fluky, because we set our inside humidity level a little too high and our attic isn't very well-ventilated. As a result, significant ice build-up during the recent string of week-long below-freezing temperature suddenly melted during a couple of warm days, that, normally our insulation would be enough to absorb the moisture but in this case the ice build-up was too much. He reported that our roof is actually in good shape, even if our attic isn't well-ventilated. At the end, he gave me basically four options. Option 1 is to simply not do anything and turn our inside humidity way down during exceptionally cold days (15%). Option 2 is to spend a few hundred dollars to add a couple of more vents to allow moisture to escape. Option 3 would be the biggest job, spending a couple of thousand to add a state-of-the-art full attic ventilation system. We very much appreciated the comprehensive list of options, and John did not try to make a hard sell on any of the options that actually would cost us money. It's quite apparent that Bone Dry is a very honest company and not out to squeeze a buck out of every home visit. When we do decide to do something about our attic, we will definitely go with Bone Dry's options without contacting another contractor.

This company states they give a 5 year guarantee on their work. My parents had their roof replaced…read moreand since they did, the roof leaks every time it rains and in different spots. The owner who did the sale has not been back to the house, and refuses to talk to my parents. His workers has been out a couple times but not every time my parents call to complain. They have a log home, so water leaking onto the house will eventually destroy the house. It has not been 5 years, and they don't have the money to just go to another company to have it repaired and that would void the warranty that Brown's gave. DO NOT USE BROWN'S ROOFING, unless you want more problems then you started with

We had our roof replaced in march by brown's roofing. it wasstarted in the beginning of march, and…read moreended 4 weeks later with them still not completing all that was agreeed upon, here is a list of what was promised and what was not completed. The Contractor proposes to furnish all listed material and labor necessary for the completion of the following job specifications: 1. Removal of existing shingles on house and garage. Including front and rear porch.""All was removed except- pieces of felt, shinglesand nails left on the ground"" 2. Installation of felt paper on roof. ""(( installed ))"" 3. Installation of 35 year dimensional shingles on roof.""(( installed--but the edges were not cleanly cut and looked very sloppy, had to call them to come out and fix it. ))"" 4. Re-work all step and chimney flashing on roof.""((done--removed a loose brick on my chiminey and did not put it back. ))"" 5. Installation of new box vents on roof.""(( installed ))"" 6. Installation of pipe boots on roof.""(( intalled ))"" 7. Installation of ridge cap on roof.""(( installed ))"" 8. Repair drywall in kitchen area.""((looks like crap, when the guy sanded it he didn't put down a drop cloth and did a terrible job cleaning afterwards))"" 9. Clean and service entire gutter system on home.""((There are still nails and pieces of shingle in the gutters))"" 10. Clean up and haul away all debris. ""((Took 3 weeks to come back and finish cleaning- there were cigarrette butts on the ground, they plugged in their compressor to my power outlet on the side of the house and tripped the breaker, there were oil spots on my driveway and my neighbors driveway from their truck leaking, an empty gas can was left in front of the house and there were nails every where.))"" --One terrible thing about this company is the owner Ron Brown will talk the talk but he did not stick true to his word. he stated that the job would be completed in 2-3 days. nobody showed up the 3rd day, and it took 4 weeks total to complete the job. Nobody answers the phone when you call and they did not show up when they promised several times. they had excuses like their kid got into some trouble and natural disasters like high winds came to our area so they had to go take care of new customers. i understand those people that had their roofs torn off needed help but at least send one guy to finish the job, call back and let your existing customers know that you are at least trying to send someone and above all, do what you say you're gonna do. I took it upon myself to deduct the bill $25 each time they said they were gonna show up and didn't.
