We had told them at the outset that this would need to integrate with our CRM, which wasn't settled yet at the time. We decided to go a different direction with the CRM with very little of the netsuite implementation actually done. But Squire billed us over 100% of the initial estimate. We've now spent over a year in good faith trying to get things resolved with them but it's been so bad. Their only rationale was that the billing was progress-billed even though no work was done. I'm not sure how that is an acceptable business practice. We've tried to resolve this with Squire offering 25% of the initial estimate and then 50% of the initial estimate but looks like they prefer to show a large A/R. Unclear how this will get resolved.

I was charged every month for "preparation" and "planning" that were not explained. I was instructed to pay the IRS inordinate amounts of money erroneously putting me in a dire financial position. As a single mother of four, I expressed my deepest concern and asked for clarity. My inquiry was met with confusing conversation, a patronizing attitude and ZERO explanation about their accounting or billing practices. Then he hung up on me. This was the second time he's hung up on me after inquiring about my account. Greg tends to speak in a confusing manner making it near impossible to understand with clarity what he's talking about. If you attempt to advocate for yourself, he won't tolerate frustration and simply hangs up. Please be very careful when dealing with Squire. They do not act as though they care about clients concerns or the relationships that keep them in business. Mismanaged tax issues, refusal to communicate or explain accounting practices. It's been an extremely unsettling and disruptive experience.

What has become of my day-to-day life that I am now giving 5 stars to something related to TAXES???…read more I suppose this is life, and whether a review is about food, a museum, a store or even something that helps you - gasp! - file your taxes, if the service is great, it deserves a shout out. Enter FreeTaxUSA, which I just used for the 4th consecutive year. I always saw the internet ads for these services and thought "why bother, I can file a form by myself:; yes, I can, but navigating the online access to both Federal and State was what my accountant had handled, and after selling my condo, I decided to enter the world of self-filing since some of my deductions and tax-challenges had changed. A friend of mine was faithful to TurboTax for years, but I heard her mention once that she paid $80 or so for it, and thought that was outrageous. Saw an ad for FreeTaxUSA, figured "why not", did a Fed filing in about 15 minutes (time will vary depending on whether you have deductions or not, are organized are not, etc) and it really was FREE. My next option was to file the Mass return with them, and I decided since I was already on their site AND my Federal return info would automatically transfer to the Mass forms, why on earth do I need another aggravation? I lightened my aggravation load by doing the state form with them (these are what they charge for, but doing a Fed return gets you 10% off the state), and after a few clicks, the state return was done. Grand total? About $11.50, a tiny amount to spend to make my life easier. HUGE bonus points to them for the ability to sign into your account, view past transactions, keep up on whether the Fed and/or State has accepted your return or just sign in for the hell of it. This is definitely the way to go, and until the day comes when I buy another home and (maybe) need the accountant back, FreeTax has my yearly business!!
