Too bad I wasn't able to get pass the annoying scheduler pretending to be a dentist and not having any ability to understand that I am looking for a second opinion not an comprehensive exam for $264. She even wanted to charge me $100 fee ahead of the appointment, on top of the fact that they don't accept any insurances. On the other hand, they would not deduct for the fact that I had all the imaging done, as well and cleaning, and again, that I only wanted a second opinion - WTF? By the way, I am not sure what dentistry makes mercury fillings anymore. My understanding is that those were outdated some time ago. So some of the marketing spin is only that - nothing holistic about it. read more

I do not recommend this dental office, particularly Dr Marder. He is rude to his assistants and recommends as many dental procedures to his patients as he can think of - during a dental surgery, he was so rude and condescending to his assistant (Sue) that she walked out of the cubicle while he was still working on me! She confided to me later that she often does that when he is rude to her. On another note, he recommended I have a crown replaced in case there was a mercury filling beneath it. It wasn't detectable by x-ray. The crown itself was fine; however, he strongly urged me to replace it so I agreed. He was very rough during the removal - it was really secured well. There was no mercury filling. Unfortunately, he killed the tooth/root in the process and about a week later recommended I either have the tooth pulled or get a root canal! The crown cost me $3800! He was very arrogant and said "that's the risk you take when you have multiple procedures on one tooth." He had never discussed such a risk with me - I see it as his taking the risk and my having to live with the consequences. I've tried for months to save the tooth with various ozone treatments, etc, but it will have to be pulled (seeing a different dentist, needless to say). I spent so much money in that dental office on procedures Dr Marder recommended. I wish I hadn't listened to him. That $3800 crown will be pulled next week. Shame on this dental practice. read more

If I could give more stars I would. Dr Marder and his team are really amazing. I came in looking to get some serious dental work done, and they were very attentive to figuring out what exactly what was going on inside my mouth. It was the most through examination I have ever had; they checked my immune system and every single tooth in my mouth. Dr Marder gave me opinion that was best for me, not the most expensive option. He even worked to get me some injections last minute, and was very detailed and through in his examinations. He kept coming back to check on me even when the hygienist was with me. He seems like a truly kind man that cares deeply for his patients. Two of his team members, Sue and Helen were amazing. They gave me so much information and helped me out tremendously. His staff is truly special. Sue went out of her way to make sure I got the best treatment possible, I don't think I would get this kind of care anywhere else. Also, I traveled from Northern California just to see him and will definitely be coming back for follow ups. Lastly, the receptionist team is incredibly nice and understanding. I called multiple times and they fielded each and every one of my calls with care and answered all of my questions. Definitely worth the visit! read more

I was in last week for a teeth cleaning. Rus the hygienist did the cleaning. He was very nice man and explained everything as he cleaned my teeth. I was thrilled to discover there is such a thing as Integrative Dentistry. I have been using the Integrative Medicine approach for my health for 15 years and have not been to a conventional doctor in all that time due to the proactive nature of this approach. There is a proper place and time for both types of medicine in our lives. My visit with Integrative Dentistry, was so refreshing. They showed me evidence of where I stand today with my foundational oral health. They educated me and carved out a plan to bring me back to a place of neutrality in order to accurately assess whether or not I require further intervention. That's what I love and respect about the Integrative approach for overall health care. It's philosophy is grounded in our bodies possessing the natural ability to heal ourselves given the proper tools. I chose this place initially because they're a mercury-free dentistry practice and also see little kiddos. My son (3.5 years old) had his first dentist appointment and upon arriving I was a bit surprised there was no little "kid's section" in the waiting room. Thankfully, I brought some extra toys. The dental hygienist (Sadly I can't remember her name!-kaylie?Kylie?) was wonderful with my son, he was really receptive to her approach. She showed him about the tools and what they do and even counted his teeth. She told us the dentist would be in soon and after waiting around for 10+ minutes, the dentist finally came over. Now while this wouldn't be a problem for an adult, this is an eternity for a 3.5 year old who has already been quite patient in the dental chair for a while. So that was a bit annoying. The dentist was polite and professional, but asked me the same questions the dental hygienist did and recounted my son's teeth- it all felt redundant and, again, my son was just about done with this all. Then the dentist said she was going to clean his teeth (she never asked me how he felt about peppermint flavors), put the cleaning tool with peppermint on it in his mouth, and my son just about lost it. He was completely done at this point. This last situation bothered me the most because she should have checked in about this. I want my son's early dentist experiences to be positive. I think this place could be great for older kiddos and adults, but not so much for young ones. I will say that the toy chest at the end was a saving grace to preventing a full on meltdown. read more

Have not had many visits to the clinic fortunately, however, the work that I've had done by Dr. Rubin has been stellar. I have confidence in his assessments and suggestions and the crowns and fillings he has done are solid and match well with my other teeth. I would give Dr. Rubin 5 stars by far. The 3 star rating is with the cleanings. The hygienist needs more training in her bedside manner. If I didn't have a strong background in the medical field and understand what she was saying, I would've left the office afraid that I was going to drop dead from the bacteria in my gut caused from bacteria in my mouth. I felt pressured to purchase the expensive tablets and antibacterial solution to use with my water-pic, which I did and was not told the price until I saw it on the invoice. I don't like those kind of surprises. I think the hygienist was very thorough, however, I would prefer to go somewhere else for a teeth cleaning. read more

I was referred to Dr. Paul Rubin at Integrative Dentistry 2 years ago by my naturopath who said she detected an infection in my tooth (that didn't hurt). My naturopath wanted me to go to Dr. Rubin because he has a 3-D cone beam scan x-ray that can pick up infections that the regular x-rays cannot. Also because Dr. Rubin is a holistic dentist and I won't have to worry about my many chemical sensitivities there. I was quicker to listen to my naturopath this time (about her belief that I needed to have a tooth removed) because a similar thing happened about 5 years before that and my previous dentist was downright shocked to discover a horrific infection that the x-ray didn't detect upon pulling the tooth that my naturopath insisted must be taken out. I learned my lesson that lack of pain doesn't necessarily mean there's no problem. Both tooth sites are root-canaled teeth, something I will never EVER do again! With the 3-D x-ray, Dr. Rubin saw a significant infection at the base of my tooth that had also spread to the molar next to it. He said I needed an extraction of at least one tooth and maybe the other one too. He doesn't do extractions so certainly wasn't making this recommendation for profit. I went to a different holistic dentist to have the extraction done because Dr. Rubin said that I was a very complicated case (especially with my history). It turned out that I had black mold infection deep in my jawbone and the other tooth could not be saved. I now have a huge hole in my jawbone where the mold had to scraped out, but I shudder to think what could have happened if I had relied on typical x-rays and the infection getting worse year by year. Even those of us who brush and floss like we're supposed to tend to take our teeth for granted...until we don't have them. I sincerely appreciated the very competent diagnosis and recommendations by Dr. Rubin. Unfortunately, I hear that he is retiring, but it gave me such peace of mind to have his expertise and compassion when I was in a very bad situation. read more

The new billing staff management is the problem at this company. They are rude, harsh, and impersonal. Good cop bad cop scenario. The dentists are the good cops and the billing staff are just plain rude and impersonal. Going to the dentist is a stressful event already. Their customer empathy is lacking. I also question their billing practices. Over charged me a few times which I only caught later. They assume that you should know things when in fact you don't. In one word rude. read more

The whole team at Integrative Dentistry made me feel welcome. From the aesthetic surroundings to the pleasant front desk and soothing waterfall it was pleasant. The dentistry office is a Biological Dentistry office. This means a holistic approach to your teeth, only non-toxic material is used. They had crystals and paintings of chakras to bring in the right energy. If none of that matters to you then I will say that Dr. Rubin has 30 years of experience with all kinds of dentistry. His partner Dr. Marder does as well. The assistants couldn't be nicer and Jesse the hygienist is thorough and professional. The administrators handled the payments well and although this dental office is out of pocket they do deal with Delta Dental Insurance out of network, as a matter of fact they just called to offer me a refund because insurance paid more than we thought. I found a home here, perhaps you could as well. read more

Ok, 5 stars to Dr. Rubin and his practice before he sold out to the money grubber Dr. Maurder. 2 stars for Dr. Maurder's practice. Fortunately Dr. Rubin still services his existing patients here. Maurder has turned this business into a sales organization, where the poor dental hygenists who have been there forever are forced to try to sell you services like a boiler room. "oh, we found bad bacteria under your gums, we can send a sample off to the lab for $450 and then sell you chewable antibiotics for $200. No? How about some high priced chewable probiotics?" Never mind the former cost-effective solution of using a waterpik with baking soda. The office had/has a good care philosophy, but there is now a used-car salesperson atmosphere. I'm posting this here for honest feedback so they can correct this. Dr. Maurder, you don't need a bigger boat. Your staff needs to deliver the highest quality care without taking advantage of your clients. read more

I am so pleased that I have found such an amazing dental support with Dr. Mitch Marder and Dr. Paul Rubin with Integrative Dentistry, They quickly and thoroughly discovered the serious dental reasons that were impacting my overall systemic health, and provided the most optimum ways to heal from the massive infections, cavitations, and problems I faced from root canals. Dr. Marder listened to me so well and after great research, I found he was the best resource I could find for my cure.
