I was thrilled when I pulled in and saw the parking lot almost completely empty, thinking we had finally picked a quiet time to swim. Unfortunately, those hopes were quickly dashed when we were told we couldn't enter the pool because it was already "at capacity" based on the number of lifeguards on duty. Given the nearly empty parking lot, it seemed to be a staffing issue rather than the pool actually being crowded. Unfortunately, this is just one of several frustrating experiences we've had at this rec center. My 6-year-old's lips turn blue after spending more than about 20 minutes in the main pool because of how cold it is. The only area that is really appropriate for him to practice swimming is adult-only for the majority of the day, with only a very limited window for children--and during that window, we're now being told the pool is at capacity. We've also had multiple negative interactions with both front desk staff and lifeguards who have been unnecessarily rude and unhelpful. A previous reviewer made an assessment that I now completely agree with: if you're an older adult, this rec center may be a great fit, as the programming and pool schedules seem heavily geared toward adults. If you have a young family and are looking for a place to work out and swim with your children, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

I didn't get a chance to explore the whole building, but I did see a workout room and inclusive rest rooms. The overall impression is "basic." Cleanliness and friendly staff earned four stars, although the basketball buzzer is jarring and very loud. The bleacher seats are typical. It's a smaller rec center, but I think it's nice to have in the neighborhood.

We stuck it out for 2 years but we have moved on and sooo thankful that we did. Dance is fun again!! Also children with medical conditions (letters from doctors submitted) are treated as if they don't have loyalty to the program if they have to miss for said medical conditions that were known to all from the beginning. The pool was very clean however it was a little cold for being heated. The diving pool was deeper and somehow way warmer. There was a clock by the lap pool I used as a timer to see how fast I could swim and hold my breath. It was all around a good experience. The jacuzzi was very nice and refreshing after I was done trying out my gear. The only drawback about this place: there is no unisex steam/sauna room. The dry sauna was located in my locker room. My gf and I wanted to enjoy ourselves and use it before we left, but to no avail. The Eastridge and Southridge rec both have a unisex steam/sauna room. Overall a great experience with good parking. In 2025 there was a couple that took over (Greta Walker & Clark Walker). Greta was truly horrible to the residents. The priority for her was to make herself and her staff as comfortable as possible -- and the residents quality of life suffered because of her decisions for comfort and convenience. She cut many activities on and off campus. As of the summer of 2026, Concordia has a new person running the show, and it is not at all apparent that anything has changed. So sad!! It used to be such a wonderful place for the residents to live!!
