The only reason I'm giving it a two star, is because I've had a previous experience here that was…read moredecent. I came in to mail off a small package. It was already in a prepaid envelope. This one post office worker(He was the slightly older Asian guy) was the most unprofessional and rudest person I've met in a long time. I literally just want to know where I can drop off the packages. Instead of showing me, you continuously asked if I was sure the postage was enough. It's not even my package. I told him to not worry about it, and I'm sure the post it was enough, as a company sent me a prepaid envelope. But he refused to just show me where the drop off location was. He continuously harassed me to let him check the postage. And when I told him "no it's OK, I'm sure it's enough." He goes "if it's not enough it will just be returned to you. If you don't want it, do you want me to throw away in the trash?" Then he went to the trashcan and opened it and looked at me as if he was waiting for me to walk over and throw the packages away into the waste container. Like seriously? After he repeatedly said those extremely unprofessional things (mind you, in a belittling and snarky manner) I went with him to get the postage value check. Just because I wanted to finish my business and get out of there. And stop talking to this obnoxious and unbelievable man. And lo and behold, the postage stamp was more than enough. All I needed, the entire time, was to be pointed in the direction of the drop off ("exit the shop, to the right"). (Yes, I know, I was being blind because i had walked right by it). I had almost considered just walking away in his mid sentence and look for the drop off place by myself, but no, that would be rude.

We recently placed a mail hold while we were out of town for two weeks. We did this online, with…read moreconfirmation that all of our mail would be delivered on April 24. On April 24, we received 3-4 pieces of mail. Knowing this could not be possible for the duration we were gone, I attempted to contact this post office on April 25, to see where our mail was. Per my cell phone log, I called the post office between 10 AM and 2 PM TWELVE times and every time the phone rang until it went to voice mail. Not one employee picked up the phone in 4 hours. The held mail was delivered on April 25, only a day later than the requested date, but what is so hard about getting it right? This is not the first time this has happened to us. Not to mention other poor service from this post office (full mail bins, mail returned as "undeliverable," non-working kiosks, etc.). And not one person could pick up the phone? I hope the ringing drove the employees crazy. Typical government entity. Any entity w/little to no competition is a recipe for poor service because they don't have to improve. And the employees act like they don't care. But keep raising those postage prices! I've been using UPS for sending packages as I want to give the post office as little business as possible. Do yourself a favor and avoid this post office if you can.

Really quaint farm with the historical homestead on site for self guided tours. We went for a fall…read morefest and there were fun family oriented activities including vendors, food trucks, wagon rides, the Cheyenne mobile zoo, marshmallow roasting and even a mini pumpkin patch. I was glad we brought our wagon to haul the pumpkins home (and our daughter around). Parking for the event is a little bit of a trek but they offered rides to those in need via golf cart. Considering this event is free, put on by the city of Lone Tree, I was super impressed! It wasn't too busy/crowded and food and pumpkin prices were reasonable while all else was free! I highly recommend Schweiger Ranch for an event and/or a visit outside of an event.

I chose to because it's fun and the path down to the ranch is muddy. He walked. I headed to the line for horse carriage rides. They had two carriages and took 10 people each time. So fun! I love horse carriages. The horses are gorgeous. It was so fun. Then we walked around the vendors. And ended up at the handmade bratwurst sandwich stand. I don't eat a lot of meat but the elk brats were delicious. So lean and tasty. And they had well done ones in addition to the regular ones. Some sauerkraut, spicy mustard and ketchup. It was cold but we sat at an outdoor table and ate our lunch. Visited the reindeer pen. Adorable. They have children's crafts and you can visit the historical buildings and see the goats. An enclosed tent where performers are and also Santa ! It's not a large event but made me happy to finally have a carriage ride for the holidays. I tipped the carriage rides company - they take cash or Venmo. And the vendors take cash or Venmo as well.

I spent time in douglas county between november 20th 2025 to april 30th 2026. Im giving them 4…read morestars because its by far the cleanest jail ive ever been to. Meals are decent. guards are generally polite unless provoked. but DCSO cannot really be reviewed as one entity. There are so many moving parts that makes that machine work. I did not get along with the nurses at all, but i did take part in JBBS (jail based behavioral services) ran by Jennifer Cordova. She was great, it was the very first time i went to jail and felt like the guards, nurses, judges, and public-defenders were working at the rehabilitation of inmates. Not just punish them. Lets be real. nobody likes to go to jail. but of the jails ive been to, this is by far the cleanest with the most polite staff, after i left i was told that that my four prescriptions would be in my property in the form of a voucher. But this ended up being a lie or a mistake. I had vital meds that i must take daily to remain healthy, i give nurse mindy alone a 2/5 stars.

Aside from 2 very professional traffic ("alleged" speeding) pull overs, I've yet to be on the "other side" of these fine officers. The same can't be said regarding one particular relative, but that's a long bar conversation and a walk home. However, I do try to convince my Wife that I'm a "Bad Boy" at heart, but she's not buying it. Here's a few other experiences I've had with the Douglas County Sheriff's Department: 1. Free prescription meds drop off at the main HQ. The box is just beyond Security and the folks there have been most helpful in getting that job done. 2. Genoa Candy Dance and Western Heritage Days (including Horse Parade). Again very professional. 3. I'm a contributor to the The Douglas County Sheriff's Advisory Council. Other Comments 1. I'm a graduate of the Carson City Sheriff's Citizen's Academy and hope to do the same in Douglas County. This is a great learning opportunity. 2. Carson City Sherriff Ken Furlong is a master (in my opinion) at maintaining a nonpartisan approach to law enforcement and public outreach. I trust that our Sheriff has a similar line of action. 3. I'm on the Board of Temple Bat Yam in South Lake Tahoe and very much appreciate the Security efforts of the El Dorado County Sheriff's Office, which is just across the State Line from Douglas County.
