I've been training with Andrew at Diakadi for 2 months and have already noticed functional strength improvements after a month of training with him. I wasn't able to do a single pull-up before and can now do two in row with the hardest grip position. As a trainer, he's really professional and knows his stuff. He's very responsive and communicative over text and flexible around scheduling! You can tell Andrew is passionate about what he does, he's interested in developing himself, and takes a holistic approach to health and wellness. He has certifications in P-DTR, which has really transformed my workouts as I'm able to keep going and get slight corrections. Before training with Andrew, I was already fairly active and I still take a lot of various small group classes at boutique fitness studios. I've dabbled in weightlifting before but I decided to work out with a trainer to build confidence with lifts and nail my form. I also had strength goals of building the requisite upper body strength for needed to execute aerial skills. With Andrew's help, I finally learned how to engage my back muscles properly (hello lats and rhomboids!) and strengthened my weaker accessory muscles and imbalances. Andrew is very receptive to my feedback. He adjusts the program to my goals and where I'm at fitness wise, never condescending or slow-tracking me (I'm not a complete newb) and not over-indexing on weight loss goals - though I did have slightly better composition as a side effect. After the initial assessment, he quickly got me started on a personalized strength building program. He continually adjusted my program based on where he was able to pinpoint weaknesses during our sessions. His coaching is also technical, provides good instructions on cleaning up form. I worked out with Andrew for almost a year until I moved out of San Francisco. I first joined his group class and found them fun and productive. After that I wanted a more tailored workout for my core strength and flexibility, so I bought his 1to1 sessions at a private gym. I noticed an impressive improvement in my body after the first month, and from there it only got better. Andrew is a very professional trainer, very knowledgeable and dedicated. He was always there for me when I needed to workout, with a big smile and amazing attitude. He also made me push a bit more in every session and at the end of road my physical performance was so much better than the day I started! I workout regularly at the gym but the core area is always a challenge unless you know very well what you're doing or have somebody to motivate you. For that reason I prefer trained sessions. Andrew manages to give you a good workout without making it feel like drudgery, because, while he emphasizes good form and function, he leavens it with humor and an upbeat attitude. He genuinely enjoys working out and working with clients, and his enthusiasm is contagious. At age 51, after working with Andrew for two years, I'm now in better shape in many respects than I was in my 20's, especially my abs. He tailored my workouts for the areas where I need the most help, like core strength, flexibility, and balance. I started working out with Andrew about 1 /12 years ago and I have to say, he's given me a true love for fitness. He's very knowledgable and driven in his work, yet connects well with everyone, takes the time to listen to you and walk you through each exercise and truly cares about your well being as a whole person. Andrew has been with me every step of the way in pushing my endurance, challenging my strength and working on my cardio. I also highly recommend his boot camps which he has from time to time on weekends. This is a fantastic way to jump start your weekend, connect with others, and get an incredible workout in that is fun, motivating and challenging!
