His sessions have been deeply healing, noticeably improving my sleep and helping me feel more at home in my own body. Andy's approach to Trager and Esalen massage is so different from traditional deep-tissue work. It's gentle, intuitive, and focused on deep relaxation, presence, and mind-body awareness. The extended sessions give you enough time to truly settle in, while the gentle rocking, shaking, flowing strokes, calming music, and atmosphere create a wonderful sense of safety and relaxation. Working with Andy has helped me breathe through physical activations, process emotions, and connect more deeply with the body awareness I'm developing in therapy. He truly listens--not just to your words, but to your body. If you're looking for a massage therapist who takes a holistic approach and creates space for genuine relaxation and healing, I highly recommend Andy. He's a gift.

I have heard about Esalen over the years and have always dreamed of going to the Esalen Institute Spa in Big Sur, California but have never had the opportunity so I felt so fortunate to find an Esalen trained practioner here in Atlanta! The techniques is different from other massage techniques as the strokes are long and fluid. There are gentle rocking techniques added that aid the body to relax and let itself unfold naturally, rather than being manipulated and forced to relax. This style is extremely relaxing and effective. I had muscle releases that I physically felt and going into the massage I was not even aware that I was holding tension there! Andy is very professional. His studio was very clean and comfortable as was the bathroom. His studio is located in a sweet, residential neighborhood so parking was not an issue. I highly recommend Atlanta Esalen Massage :)

So…read morealthough you get the candles and mood music, the rest of the decor is decidedly "doctor office" feel to it. Which is alright by me because the massage was better than those lame massages you get at places like Massage Envy. The technicians at HWC have gone beyond regular massage training to understand the body at a deeper level. So if you don't get massages for fear of the masseuse effecting an injury or prior surgery, this is your place. If you just like getting massages and having the masseuse be able to actually work out a not or a sore spot, this is your place. Even how they drape the body is more to the point. Why waste time with sheets that have to be moved and adjusted, just cover the private parts and get to the real work of making pain go away and creating a truly relaxed state.

It took some time for me to actually book my appointment with Rite Touch. Booking was easy though. I simply went to their website and selected the service and the massage therapist. Their availability was a few weeks out and I was also trying to book the appointment between the time I took lunch at work. My appointment was a month out due to those factors. Getting to the business was not very difficult. However, I will warn that their name is not on the marquee for the plaza and their located on the second level so it was a little difficult to spot them at first. When I went inside it was very warm and welcoming. After a couple minutes the massage therapist greeted me but he did not tell me his name. Prior to starting my massage he asked if I had any problem areas and warned that he is heavy handed and to let him know if he needs to adjust the pressure. Overall, it was a nice massage. I was very relaxed and felt that some of the tension was removed from my body.
