I have chronic neck and back pain so my doctor recommended monthly deep-tissue massages to help ease the pain. I found Deborah though my neighborhood association's website. Her office is in Oakhurst, walking distance to me! I decided to give her a call. I cannot tell you how happy I am to have found her. She is amazing. So far, she is the only person who has been able to find the exact spot in my back that pains me on a daily basis. She knows how to release the pain and always uses the right amount of pressure (I like it really deep!). Deborah seriously knows her stuff. Also, because she is a one-woman show, she gets to know you on a personal level and remembers your issues. I've been to places where I feel like just another random client. It took some time for me to actually book my appointment with Rite Touch. Booking was easy though. I simply went to their website and selected the service and the massage therapist. Their availability was a few weeks out and I was also trying to book the appointment between the time I took lunch at work. My appointment was a month out due to those factors. Getting to the business was not very difficult. However, I will warn that their name is not on the marquee for the plaza and their located on the second level so it was a little difficult to spot them at first. When I went inside it was very warm and welcoming. After a couple minutes the massage therapist greeted me but he did not tell me his name. Prior to starting my massage he asked if I had any problem areas and warned that he is heavy handed and to let him know if he needs to adjust the pressure. Overall, it was a nice massage. I was very relaxed and felt that some of the tension was removed from my body.

Starting a year in advance of surgery, I asked her to see me weekly to retrain both of my legs muscles in preparation for my new hip joint. I felt that my 'deformed' walking due to the damaged and painful hip joint should be ready for a new experience after surgery. I heard that I would be instructed to walk only a couple of hours after surgery. My friend, Beth, said that when I walked for the first time across the hospital floor my posture was perfect. My back was straight for the first time in years. And I was completely pain-free! I will again prepare my leg muscles for my other hip replacement! The lady started promptly and throughout I was confused about the methodology as this message is very different than one received at a spa. At one point - the lady got on the table with me. I visit Mitsuko Ito about once a month for massage therapy to help with chronic upper back issues…read moreand sciatica in my left hip. I've received a lot of deep tissue and neuromuscular work over the years and can tell the difference between a therapist who is really tuned into what the body needs therapeutically versus one who has confused "deep tissue" with simply applying a lot of pressure to release trigger points and fascia. Mitsuko's work can be intense, but very precise. I'm impressed in her ability to pick up on areas that require attention, but is mindful to not go beyond your comfort level. I have received both "traditional" massage therapy on the table, as well as her Sokssage work on a cushioned mat on the floor. Both are great, and I really enjoy Sokssage because Mitsuko can easily work on large muscle groups leveraging her feet and legs. (And no, it's not weird having someone use their feet to massage you! She uses her hands for smaller or more sensitive areas.) Mitsuko is a caring and compassionate healer. I appreciate her interest in helping educate me on how to care for myself to maintain optimal functioning, especially since my issues are chronic. Her office is located at Gibson Chiropractic Clinic, which is ideal if you'd like to receive additional holistic care.
