I requested an in-person appointment, and set up a date and time that worked. The day before the appointment, I was asked to send measurements. I did so, but was hesitant to. How do they know my measurements will be accurate? The morning of my appointment, they tried to cancel, saying the information I had provided was enough to do an in-depth virtual and phone consultation. I reminded them that I requested an in person appointment, and they tried to push my time back by two hours, saying another client was to blame. I opted to go another route, with a company that was professional and kept their appointment, and didn't have me doing the leg work. The good news is they fixed all the problems ... well, mostly. The bad news is that there were just so many problems, causing endless delays. Staff was not available; planning was improvised and sloppy (requiring work to be redone again and again); work quality was indifferent. In the end I had to finish the clean-up, and I'm still fishing loose steel screws out of the cabinet shelves. Delays turned the promised 3-day job into 8 working days spread over two weeks, leaving us with no kitchen and a house mess for much longer than we planned. In the end, we got our kitchen cabinets resurfaced, and it looks fine. But what a frustrating, amateur road we travelled to get there. Cannot recommend this outfit.

It was hard to find a local company to help us out with this small of a project, but Fernando's company did a great job! We found them on Yelp and called them to get a quote. We sent him a rough drawing to start with. Within a day or two, Fernando came to our property and measured the area (February 14). A couple of days later, he sent us the digital drawing of the kitchen cabinets. We went to the office and its a BIG operation! Dozens of carpenters making cabinets in a huge facility! Fernando and Susana appear to be the ones working with every customer, and their phones were ringing non-stop. They have a very busy operation and a lot going on! While we were there, we approved the design, and they started the project. We weren't too excited about the 5 weeks it would take to finish, but we weren't under a time crunch. We were able to inspect the cabinets (before paint) on March 30, and at that time we realized that they hadn't installed soft-close drawers or cabinets. I didn't realize it was an upgrade when you're ordering custom cabinets (or at least I was expecting to be asked what options I wanted) - but no one ever asked me. They offered to upgrade the cabinets for a small fee and I paid the fee. The cabinets were installed on April 2 unpainted. Unpainted was another thing I wasn't expecting, but in retrospect it makes sense that they would paint them after installation to make a built-in look. A few days later they painted and added the trim pieces. I didn't realize there would be several trips after the installation, so that made coordinating contractors a bit of a challenge. Again, a little more communication and explanation would have been nice. The job was completed on April 5. So it was about a 2 month process from beginning to end. The cabinets look great! Everything fit exactly as expected, and we couldn't be happier with the outcome! The drawers and cabinets all open and close smoothly, and the handles really make the cabinets pop. We are absolutely thrilled with the new kitchen! We are very happy with the design, attention to detail, and quality of work that FM Custom Cabinets performed. Although I wish they would have set the expectations a little more upfront, I think they are generally working with professionals who already know what to expect. Now that I know how the process works, I will definitely use them again for our next property. I recommend!

He and his team produced a high-quality job at a great and competitive pricing. He stayed on schedule and completed the job according to his contract. He was patient with me on the paint colors for the two tones that were used, and let me see various samples. We loved his work so much he also did our walk-in closet and master bathroom vanity. We reached out to Jack, not expecting much different, but were immediately impressed by the time he took to speak with us about our porch and design goals. He walked us through different considerations, proposed different materials, and answered questions to be sure we were all aligned and the integrity of everything would be solid. He then sent us an incredibly detailed recap and proposal of what he would do with itemized pricing, really underscoring his authenticity in wanting to be a true partner. Throughout every step of the project, Jack made sure to consult with us through any decision we needed to make or reconsider based on the actuality of what we were encountering. In construction, the only guarantee is that something will come up, requiring flexibility, and every time it did, Jack had solutions that actually ended up exceeding our original design. He was also incredibly patient whenever we deliberated on different ideas or when we were moving through his workspace. His commitment to our project and work was noticed and remarked on by multiple neighbors, as he and his team worked through long days and some brutal summer heat to get it done before we had family visiting. Whenever it came to the finishing details, like custom balusters and top rails, Jack was quick to be critical of when a piece didn't turn out as well as the rest, pointing it out and starting over. Jack also had to laminate multiple pieces of wood together and seek out a specific machine to achieve the custom rounded top rail we were after for the new railing. By the end of it, Jack delivered us a porch that exceeded our expectations and our initial hopes. Having worked with so many vendors on so many different projects, we taught ourselves to not expect perfection but in this case, Jack delivered the closest to that of anyone, ever. The truth is, there just aren't many craft people like Jack around anymore. And there are even far fewer with customer service as incredible as their talent.
