Well, unlike the previous reviewer I have nothing but amazing things to say about Miss Erin... In fact my experience has been quite the opposite, however I may be able to explain the other reviewers impressions. My 2.5 yr old daughter has been attending Integral Ballet under Miss Erin's instruction (with the help of the lovely Miss Fallon) for just over a month. My first encounter with Miss Erin was via telephone, after exploring the VERY informative and well put together website (compared to other ballet school sites I clicked off of a Google search). I had a few questions and wanted to arrange a trial class for my daughter. Miss Erin was EXTREMELY friendly and helpful, and after chatting for a few minutes I found myself looking forward to meeting her. My daughter took to Miss Erin immediately, and it's fairly evident to me, after 5 weeks of classes, that the other girls in my daughters class (and those that I see in the class before hers) really connect with Miss Erin, and Miss Fallon too! Miss Erin is caring, and has just the right amount of firmness to handle these little girls. As for being unfriendly or dismissive I could only assume that perception came from someone who is seriously self-absorbed. If you take a step back and really look you'll see that Miss Erin is a VERY busy young woman. When we arrive for my daughters class she is just ending a class, and starts another class immediately after my daughters... This girl does not take a second to take a sip of water! But that does not mean she is unattainable. Whenever I have emailed for ANYTHING (albeit in the evenings), she has responded almost immediately, I assume I'd have the same success on the phone, I'm just not much of a phone person. I should also mention that Miss Erin's mom, has also been very helpful and sociable. I feel this is a friendly, warm, and inviting ballet school - I drive 35 minutes from Rockaway Park to bring my daughter here because my husband and I instantly loved Miss Erin, as well as the other parents and kids... It just feels right. I can't really speak to the level of education as I am not, and never was a dancer myself. I do have enough sense to appreciate that even at my daughters young age there is a clear GOAL in each class, proper terms are used, and while the approach is geared down perfectly to my daughters age group it is not dumbed down. Keep up the good work Integral Ballet! read more

I took adult ballet classes with Erin. I enjoyed the company of the other adult students, and the instructor was fabulous! Erin is a certified ballet teacher who danced with the NY Dance Theatre in principal roles. She was an excellent teacher, and I loved the pretty music she played. It was fun, relaxing, and probably good for balance and to strengthen my bones. read more

I will echo the sentiments of other reviews of the rudeness of the owner. I have also been asking for signed agreements since being charged $588 and have not received any read more

My daughter has attended this ballet school for almost 8 years and every year we fall more in love with the artistry of ballet. It takes an extremely patient and passionate artistic director to come up with such innovative ideas to keep young boys and girls engaged to succeed in follow the art. My daughter is enamored by her teachers and the second family we have made here. I applaud Mrs. Erin and her staff for this amazing journey they have taken us on. read more

This place is wonderful. If you're looking for authentic ballet training... You'll love Integral. My daughter, 7, has been with Ms Erin for about 2 mos now and absolutely adores her because she's the perfect amount of stern with a side of nurturing. My ballerina has danced before but nothing as structured as instruction at Integral. The kids are rewarded for doing a good job and are held accountable for their lack of effort. Lessons are affordable and all required items are available for purchase at a fair price. No robbery here and no pressure. I highly recommend a trial class. read more

Ms. Erin and all of the staff at Integral Ballet are kind and talented. My daughters have been going to the studio for several years, and they love attending. We have had a positive experience with all teachers, and our children get a lot out of each class. I can't recommend Integral Ballet highly enough. read more

Terrible customer service! I called to receive information on the school, in which Erin refused to provide basic information over the phone. She rudely stated "everything is on our website." I told her I was driving and unable to access the internet at the moment and I only needed to know if adult ballet classes were offered at an intro level. Erin then responses "well if you don't have access to the internet you won't be able to register here." and continued by telling me I can call back on Saturday (it's Tuesday) and speak with Barry because now aren't her office hours. read more

I am taking an adult beginner class over the summer. I find Miss Erin to be a very skilled teacher who has an excellent background in classical ballet. I am in my 70's and have not studied ballet in more than 60 years. Miss Erin is always patient, friendly, and helpful. I was looking for good instruction, not casual evening adult-ed class in a school cafeteria. I am so glad to have found this school and Miss Erin. read more

I walked in and asked if I could make a purchase from the dance clothing that was displayed, and I was told by this woman that there was no one at the desk(even though I was speaking to her at the desk) and no one would be available for a couple of weeks to assist with a purchase. I said to her that all I wanted to do was pick out something, pay for it and leave. I was rudely told that she is running a dance school and not a clothing store and that was her priority. I won't ever go back there or take any classes there or ever recommend the place to anyone. Why would anyone turn down someone who wanted to spend money in their store and be so rude and obnoxious? Who owns this place anyway? If this was not the owner, someone needs to tell the owner how this woman speaks to customers! read more

Miss Erin has been much more than a dance teacher to my daughter. She has truly been a mentor and has helped shape her into the person she is now. I highly recommend Miss Erin. read more

I am so impressed with the ballet training at Integral Ballet. Growing up around classical training, I can really appreciate the care take here to nurture this timeless discipline. Bravo! read more

I would not send my children to this school. The owner is incredibly rude to the students in class and has zero personality greeting parents and with students into her class. There are many schools that value and appreciate their customers and students, this is not one of them. read more

Decent ballet school, however the attitude of the owner leaves A LOT to be desired! As a patron of any business one can expect to be treated with respect; however because the owner is so "busy" she has, in my experience, a very dismissive manner. If I'm going to pay someone to provide me with a service, I want to be spoken to and dealt with in a gracious manner at all times no matter how busy one feels they are or might be. After all we are all busy, especially parents, and no one's time is more valuable than the next. There are many other ballet schools out there, where the staff is courteous and appreciates their client's business; it's the least one can ask for. read more

My four year old has been dancing with Ms. Erin for a year and a half now, and I can say that my family has found both Ms. Erin and the other staff members warm, great demeanor with the kids and quite professional. I would strongly suggest that anyone who is interested in Integral Ballet sit in on a class and see for themselves. I have seen very little turnover in the time I have been there with my daughter and believe that the other parents also have positive experiences. read more

I have been taking my 2 daughters to Ms. Erin and am shocked over this review. She is a wonderful teacher. She has never been anything but loving to my kids. Professional to all the parents. And if this is who I think it is I had to ask you on a Saturday morning class to stop shouting as you were the one scaring my daughters. Shame on you to try to justify your bad behavior by blaming Ms. Erin. She was all the way on the other side of the room refusing to sink to your level. Because of Ms. Erin my older daughter has been accepted to a prestigious Ballet academy and it was do to and I quote "Your daughter having a wonderful foundation". read more
