I went for my first dance lesson last week and it was absolutely fabulous. The instructors are patient. They don't call you out, but they will fix your steps. This place is great for all levels. read more

This dance studio is very clean and modern looking in a quiet neighborhood. I use to take lessons for my wedding at a different dance studio which was too dated, and then found this cool spot as they teach you modern moves and they don't pressure you in buying a package. Our dance instructor Kyle was really awesome and cool! He has a martial arts background and is really good in teaching forms and was able to work with your pace. After our first lesson, we felt a lot more confident in dancing and not memorize choreography. Therefore, we have signed up for more classes since they are so fun! I showed a YouTube dance clip to Kyle which we wanted to replicate but what he taught us was so much better! I definitely recommend this dance studio and give it 5 stars! read more

My fiancee (now wife) recommended dance lessons for our wedding, which I was hesitant about, but she insisted I didn't look like a "schlub" during our first dance. While waiting outside the studio for our first lesson, we noticed a more experienced couple dancing extremely well, doing dips, lifts and the whole 9 yards. I looked at my fiancee and said "no way in hell will I be able to do that". Cut to a few months later, and I am the guy in the pictures below. Not exactly sure how that happened, but I do know that none of it would be possible without Kyle and Dance Reverie. Kyle is extremely patient and not only helps you physically for the dance, but prepares you mentally as well. For someone with two left feet like myself, Kyle not only made me look competent on the dance floor, but good enough for one engaged couple at our wedding to ask ME for lessons!? Could not recommend Kyle and Dance Reverie enough!! read more

So we came in for our free dance lesson, because we wanted our first dance to be something more. Our instructor was Kyle and that man has a gift. Me and my now wife went from two left feet to a dance that everyone at the wedding can't stop talking about. Kyle was engaging, entertaining and knows how to teach dance. He made the hour long sessions breeze by. I can't thank him enough for the progress we made. Even though he drove my wife crazy by correcting her posture lol. I'm very happy we took the 7 dance lessons and it was an overall fun experience. This can be a bonding experience and something a couple can have fun with amidst all the other stresses of planning a wedding. Definitely was for us! Kyle is the best. read more

My husband and I were hesitant about dance lessons, especially after a bad lesson in NYC. We decided as our wedding finally approached, we needed to give it another shot. Thank god we did because we found Kyle who is the best in the business. Kyle doesn't teach you a cookie cutter routine for your wedding day, he truly teaches you how to dance! Kyle breaks down the fundamentals and teaches you how to build upon them so you know how to dance for all events not just your wedding. Dance lessons went from a dread to the highlight of our week and the entire planning process! We had so much fun laughing and learning with Kyle each week, it was truly a blast. The day of our wedding people were shocked at how amazing our first dance was - we still receive compliments weeks later! Kyle and his team are true professionals and booking with them is the best decision you will make! read more

Overall experience: My now-wife and I found Dance Reverie simply to learn a dance routine for our wedding. We had Kari as our private instructor, who went above and beyond what we expected from our dance lessons. She not only taught us a wonderful choreography that amazed our wedding guests and ourselves, but she also taught us a few bread-and-butter dances so that we could dance all the different songs in our wedding. Kari was very patient and flexible with our busy work schedule. She was also very receptive on how quick we were learning the steps, and pushed us to learn more advanced maneuvers to add more enjoyment in our dance! Since we enjoyed the private lessons so much, we decided to add on some group lessons, which were a blast. We were invited to join a Friday social, during which members of all ages and experience levels came to dance a variety of styles and showcase a few routines that we have been practicing. It was great to just practice what steps we already knew, as well as learn from other more seasoned dancers. During the social, I decided to bring my parents and siblings over for my mom's bday - everyone was very welcoming to them, and my whole family had such a great time! We initially came to mark off a check box in our wedding checklist, but what we got out of it was a new hobby. We we definitely be returning once our schedule frees up again! Location: It's located along a fairly busy two-way street. There is no parking lot, but street parking is pretty plentiful and easy to get. It is also easily accessible by public transportation. Venue: Basic and not flashy - the focus really is on the dancing. The doors are very sound proof and the walls facing the outside - although glass, is very well tinted so that outsiders cannot peer into the dance studio. Inside is very spacious with two supporting beams in the middle of the room. Two opposing walls are covered from floor to ceiling in mirrors, while the other opposing walls have a few seats. There is two rest rooms at the back. I believe there also may be a basement - though we did not practice there. read more

Kyle is an amazing instructor, I walked in shy, tense, unskilled and walked confident and skilled! Not to mention I developed toned arms, killer legs and thighs(an added bonus). Our dance lessons each week was our favorite part of wedding planning. We took 12 lessons and had 2 dances, a waltz that transitioned into a swing dance (which my fiancé now husband really wanted). It may seem pricey at first but it is totally worth it, you won't regret it! read more

Great place to learn to dance father daughter or bride and groom. My daughter and I had fun with Jessica and she made us feel relaxed .

My wife and I used Dance Reverie for our wedding and are so happy we got to work with Kyle. He is funny, patient, knowledgeable, and really cares about teaching you how to dance - not just teaching you a routine. You can tell how passionate he is about his craft. We had so much fun during our lessons and felt comfortable the entire time. In fact, we will probably go back just for fun and it's an incredible bonding experience with your partner! We received so many compliments from our guests on our first dance and we both felt extremely confident going in after working with Kyle. We couldn't recommend him enough. Megan & Lawrence read more

Kyle is really good at his job! My husband has no sense of rhythm and cannot move for the life of him but Kyle made it possible. He taught us so well that my guests were beyond impressed. I would recommend him to anyone who wants to make their first dance a special one. He is very accommodating with scheduling. Like many other reviewers, he will point out some tips here and there to make you look better at dancing. read more

We had so much fun learning the waltz for our wedding song from Kyle at Dance Reverie in Mineola. He is very patient with beginners and has a way of explaining and showing the basics of dancing that really helps you understand how the body moves and all the mechanics of dancing. And even more than that, he is very flexible and understanding with all the craziness of wedding preparations and he worked with our schedule and needs. He even met with us very late at night two days prior to our wedding. Even though at times we didn't practice as much as we should have or learned a little slowly he was super patient and thorough in everything he worked with us. Always smiling and having a laugh, we really had a great time working with Kyle during the 6 lessons we had over the past few months. And our first dance came out great during out wedding! It was what made our wedding stand out. Thank you Kyle, we will be back to learn tango! read more

My wife and I had a great experience with Kyle at Dance Reverie. In just 7 lessons, we were able to learn how to dance the Viennese Waltz for our wedding. The result was better than we could have imagined. We learned how to really dance, rather than just learn a choreographed dance. His teaching was amazing. I would recommend Kyle and his studio to anyone looking to learn how to dance, whether for fun or for a wedding as we did. read more

My husband and I came into Dance Reverie with zero formal dance experience, and were looking to learn how to perform a great first dance. Kyle was patient and helpful from the first time we walked in the studio, and was very easy to work with when it came to scheduling lessons that fit in with our busy schedules. After nine lessons, we received many compliments for our first dance on our wedding day. Not only was the end result excellent, but the whole process was enjoyable. Kyle is the absolute best instructor. The now husband and I took dancing classes at Dance Reverie with Kyle for our first dance and it was our favorite part of the entire wedding planning process. Kyle was patient and so sweet. Hubby and I both looked forward to our weekly lessons and the dance was a hit! So many guests told us at the end of the reception that our dance was the best they've seen at a wedding so far. You will not go wrong with Dance Reverie! read more

Kyle was absolutely fantastic in preparing us for our first dance. We have never taken dance lessons before and the moves seemed intimidating at first but Kyle did a great job breaking everything down and making each segment simple to follow. He is very accommodating to your songs and preferences and is an amazingly talented dancer and instructor. We highly recommend the 5 lesson package with additional lessons as needed. Even though we began preparing pretty late (1 month before our wedding), Kyle made sure that we were prepared for our entire song well before the big day. He went above and beyond in professionalism and took extraordinary care to make sure that we got the most out of each lesson. The dance that he taught us was not just simple choreography meant for a specific song but rather an interchangeable skill-set that we've been able to use in other songs and at other occasions as well! There is absolutely no end to the positive things that we can say about Dance Reverie and the only way to understand it is to go in and see for yourself! read more

THIS IS THE BEST WEDDING DANCE CLASS EVER! If you are looking to have a fun and yet useful wedding dance class, this is the place! Kyle is the best instructor I could ever asked for. My husband and I decided on learning tango for our first dance and we started taking classes about three and a half month before the wedding. We took about 14 private lessons and our performance at the wedding was absolutely stunning. We got so many great compliments about our first dance and a lot of the guests were interested in going to this place as well! Kyle was very professional, patient and paid great attention to every detail of the dance to make sure we would put on a great show. Both my husband and I had no prior experience in dancing, and yet we could perform a 4min tango show at our wedding, which was truly amazing! Kyle was also very flexible about the schedule. He has studios in two locations, one in FH and the other on LI. He could always accommodate our schedule, especially the couple of weeks leading up to the wedding. We also learned the father daughter dance and mother son dance with Kyle and Kari. Both my parents and my husband's were very happy with the dance. They took about 2 private lessons and every guest at the wedding thought they took at least 5 lessons. In all, our dances are absolutely the best thing at our wedding!!! I highly recommend Kyle and Kari if you want to amaze your guests!! read more

We found this studio through Groupon and I'm so glad we picked this studio when there are so many out there! They have 1 studio in Forest Hills and 1 in Mineola, and we mainly had our private lessons in the Mineola location since we live in Long Island. The studio is bright, huge, and clean, and we really enjoyed each of our lessons. My husband and I don't have dance backgrounds at all, but under our instructor, Kyle's patient guidance, we already got the basics in our first dance lesson! My husband and I felt so comfortable with Kyle's teaching that we scheduled our next lesson right after class. Kyle has martial arts background, and therefore, he has lots of "tricks" that can help us perfect the more advanced dance moves such as dip and lift. We only took 6 lessons total, but everyone was amazed at our first dance and how much we could achieve in such a short period of time. The best thing is Kyle taught us variation of steps, so whatever we learned can also be applied on any other ballads, unlike choreographed dance that can only be used on that certain song. We also wouldn't have to worry about missing a step because it can be easily fixed since we know the basics. The studio also has variation of skirts that they will provide you to wear in your last 1-2 lessons, so you can get a sense of how it would feel like during your first dance on your wedding day. We had a really memorable wedding and I believe our first dance is definitely one of the reasons that made the wedding special. I will definitely recommend Dance Reverie to any couples that are getting married. read more

TL;DR Kyle is an amazing instructor who makes you feel comfortable dancing. Our guests were impressed at how amazing our first dance was. What we paid was priceless when you factor in the memories we will always cherish. I highly recommend the 10 lesson package and that you start wearing the shoes you will be dancing in as soon as possible. Now for the wall of text. I want to preface this review with the fact that I hate having to do research for wedding "stuff." I'm a typical groom I guess and just wanted my bride to tell me how much it costs and where I need to be. I knew however, that I wanted dance lessons so we wouldn't look like we're dancing at prom. She found a place that was highly reviewed and close by so we went for our introductory lesson. The place itself is fairly large with a huge dance floor with mirrors on three sides of the room so you can see how good/bad you are doing. Kyle played our song and immediately went to work. He quickly showed us a basic waltz which already was better than we could have hoped for. My wife and I have decent rhythm but the main problem was the fact that I didn't know how to properly "lead" when dancing. He showed me how to lead by example, dancing with my wife, and a general idea of what our dance would be like in our first lesson. It seemed easy enough. It's what he called the "basics." We did that for the rest of the lesson which made the hour fly by. Once we were done we decided the 10 lesson package was the best deal for us and in the end was worth the memories. The 10 lesson package looks like it might be expensive but when you compare it to the rest of the wedding expenses it's actually the best bargain. Kyle is also very flexible with scheduling which was a huge plus. Ten lessons were also necessary because we were advised to not practice on our own till maybe after the sixth lesson because if you practice something wrong Kyle has to correct all your mistakes at the next lesson. This was fine because I needed the time to relearn some of the steps due to my forgetfulness. It's important to note that Kyle teaches you to dance and will not teach you a routine. I say this because what did we do when we started to practice on our own? We practiced a routine! He knew it when we showed up for the next lesson which was maybe lesson 8 or 9 because when we messed up we started blaming each other. Once he "fixed" us he made us dance for one of his group lessons to make sure there was no stage fright or any issues. We practiced twice during the cocktail hour because my wife was afraid that her dress would prevent her from dancing well. Those practice sessions were just ok. I felt we were a little rough but one of our photographer's assistants said it was the best first dance she'd seen. We were both nervous as hell before the dance because obviously there was a huge crowd and the uncertainty because of her dress. I remembered what Kyle had taught us which was essentially to "have fun and dance!" We didn't do a routine but managed to do everything he taught us with the exception of one lift. Our guests were constantly clapping with some of them in tears. We've seen some cell phone video of our dance and to be honest we view it often not just to watch us (which usually makes us tear up with happiness) but to look at the expressions on our friends and families faces. What we paid was truly nothing compared to the memories. We can't thank Kyle enough for all his help and we look forward to taking group lessons for fun in the future. A video of our performance should be available soon when we get the footage from our videographer. read more

Me and my fiancé went for lessons before our wedding. Kari was our instructor and she is amazing. We could not have asked for someone more professional, talented and patient. Kari taught us everything we needed for our wedding dance. We even changed our song a few weeks before and it went off perfectly, and we totally nailed it. I can not recommend Kari enough. I was a complete beginner going into it and she taught us how to dance for our big night. read more

Kyle is the best teacher!!! Our first dance completely blew our guests away. They all told me we looked so professional and asked if we had been to tons of classes. Generally as a cheap girl I would not pay to get the lessons, however, I am so glad we did. The lessons were worth every penny and they made such a big difference. Kyle is super patient and gave lots of tips... things you can't get from watching YouTube clips to "learn the steps." He went from the basics, to teaching us proper form and mechanics to look good, and taught us fancier movements that impressed our guests. If you want to put on a show, you need to go to Kyle!! read more

We cannot thank Kyle enough for how he transformed us from not being able to dance at all to a full out swing dance. I've taken many lessons across a wide spectrum of activities and I have to say that Kyle's approach to teaching is what sets him apart. He simplifies things in a way that is easy to understand and digest which is crucial. He also focuses the lesson on learning a couple moves so you don't feel overloaded at any time. Apart from his amazing natural ability at teaching, he is super personable and just fun to be around. He makes the whole process just so much fun rather than being a laborious task. We enjoyed every moment learning from him and wish him nothing but the best. There's only one place to go and get dance lessons and that's Dance Reverie! -Darren read more

Getting married in less than a month and needed someone to teach us our first dance. Took lessons from Groupon at another dance studio and it didn't do the job. After looking all over Queens and Long Island, one man came to our rescue... Kyle in the Mineola studio. Overall, he's fun, patient, knowledgeable, and makes a newbie dancer like me look like he knows what he's doing. If you plan on only getting married once in your life, I would recommend any couple to take lessons with Kyle. Well worth the money and you will actually learn to dance to any song instead of just memorizing choreography. If you are getting married, don't look any further. Book lessons with Kyle now and you'll thank yourself later. read more

We can't say enough good things about Kyle! My fiancé and I came in as not knowing a thing about dancing and Kyle was able to teach us at our pace and by the end of the first class we felt so much more confident. On our wedding day everyone was floored with our dance and even the photographer saying he's been doing weddings for 15 years hasn't seen a dance this good! Everyone at the wedding couldn't stop talking about it! Kyle wants every student he has to do their best and feel comfortable doing it. Not only is he a great dance instructor you can tell he loves what he does. We will defiantly be back to learn how to do other dances. read more

Are you looking for a good time? Call Kyle at (516) 418-6434. Seriously, call Kyle at Dance Reverie. My wife and I got married on October 1, 2017 and one of my fears, if not the biggest one, was our first dance. You see, I'm not much of a dancer. I never was. I suggested to my wife that we take dance lessons, so that we could really have a memorable first dance. She looked at several schools online, but Dance Reverie is the one that stood out above all others, namely due to the multiple awesome reviews about Kyle. I called him up and was immediately impressed with the interest he took in wanting to help us create this special moment. We started off taking his first package, which included four lessons. The first lesson is free, but he doesn't treat it as such. The amount of effort that he pours into each class makes you leave each class just saying to yourself, wow. We learned so much in that one class that it sparked a genuine interest to want to learn more and more. Keep in mind, I used to dread dancing because I always felt foolish. However just after a few lessons with Kyle, that insecurity swiftly passed and I was able to fully embrace the moment and enjoy this uncharted experience with my wife. Our first dance ended up being totally awesome. Everyone raved that they have never been to a wedding reception before where they witnessed such an intricate performance. We owe this all to Kyle and we are forever grateful for all his sincere efforts. We loved this experience so much that we plan on continuing classes with him to learn other styles of dancing. So to reiterate my opening phrase, if you're looking for a good time, call Kyle at Dance Reverie. read more
