Pissed customer. Why should a customer be forced to pay a monthly flat fee for grinder pump service through Integra Water. Homeowner beware

I just recently bought my first home and started paying a gas bill, i've previously rented…read moreapartments that didn't use gas. So five months into owning a home, I come home to see a notice that my gas had been cut off. I call Alagasco immediately after realizing I had never received a bill and thus never paid my gas bill. After explaining the situation over the phone the manager realized that they had been sending the bill to either the wrong person or the wrong name. I asked if they could refund the penalties I had acquired which turned my $80 bill into a $250 bill due to the fact that they had never directly notified me of termination. They refused a refund because they had apparently used an automated service to call and notify me of termination. I explained to them that due to the type of work I do, I'm not able to receive phone calls and there was never a voicemail. The managers response to this was "Sir, we understand that we have sent the bills to you in a different name, we also understand that the automated system doesn't leave voice mails and that you never received an email but it is your responsibility to notify us if you aren't recieving bills and due to this we don't think we have any responsibility to refund you anything." And to make matters worse, they refused to turn my gas back on that day, they told me that I had to be there to meet the technician when one arrived and that they couldn't tell me when he would arrive only that he would be there between eight am and five pm which caused me to miss a day of work. Look, I'm not mad about them turning my gas off, the bill wasn't paid, they have the right to terminate my service. I'm mad because they forced me to pay over three times the amount of my bill after admitting fault. I'm also mad that they refused to turn my gas back on that day and they couldn't give me an estimated time of a arrival to meet the technician. So to sum up my experience with Alagasco "customer service" department and customer value; I had to pay three times the amount of gas that I used, had to go over 24 hours without gas in the winter and had to take a day off of work to wait for the technician to arrive. Absolutely repulsive experience, I plan on eliminating all my business with this company after this winter!

Since we couldn't go inside, I decided to walk across the nearby bridge to at least get a view from a distance. When it's closed, there really isn't a way to get much closer, so you're limited to exterior views only. From the photos and reviews others have posted, it looks like a really cool and educational spot, especially if you're interested in industrial history. It seems like the tours give you a great glimpse into what factory life looked like back when it was one of the biggest steel suppliers in the U.S. Knowing it operated for around 90 years before shutting down in 1971 makes it even more fascinating. Even though I didn't get the full experience, the scale of the structures and the history behind the site were still impressive from afar. I'd definitely plan to return on a day they're open to properly explore it -- it looks like a unique and worthwhile stop if you're in town.

AMERIGAS IS A JOKE!!!…read more If anyone looks for a propane supplier avoid AMERIGAS at all costs. The home we purchased already had a 250 lb AmeriGas tank. When we inquired about removing it for another supplier we were told it would cost us around $400. Because we use it as a secondary heat and cooking source in the event electricity goes out we decided it wasn't worth the cost to remove even though the cost is $5.00 per lb due to low usage. In anticipation of the recent cold storm we ordered to fill the tank on Jan 21. We were told delivery would be between Jan 28 and Feb 2. We were provided a delivery date on Jan 23 of Feb 2. Well needless to say they never delivered on Feb 2. Our tank level is now down to 15%. When I called to find out when our missed delivery would be delivered I was on a phone hold for an hour and a half. When I finally reached a supervisor because the rep could tell me I was told that they had suspended emergency deliveries due to the weather. I told them it was an emergency delivery only because they didn't meet their scheduled delivery that I had order over 2 weeks prior. Sorry, no go even though it was their fault. They will deliver within 24 to 48 hours, maybe, depending on the weather and if my driveway doesn't get iced over. What irritates me even more is they then have the gull to say, Thank me for being a valued AmeriGas customer. Yea right, I feel real valued.... I hope our electricity doesn't of out!!!

They let our tank run down to 0 at the coldest time of the year when we were on auto refill. Do not trust them with your home and heat. Would give zero stars if possible. Note local schedulers and managers seem great, but the folks you get when you call the support numbers are at best uninformed, and at worst actively making things harder. An example: I got two confirmations for a service appointment, listing different days. So I got on a chat and asked which day. After 30+ min on the chat they confirmed multiple times that it was "tomorrow". I stayed home from work when we had a service appointment and they were a no show. Also asked to talk to a manager when we were on auto fill and they let us completely run out of propane on the coldest night of the year. They put me on hold for more than 40 min and said the soonest they could come was a week later. House was in the 40s before we sorted it out, Avoid.
