We love working with HomeSense Heating and Cooling. I have been a customer of theirs for over a…read moredecade. I always feel that they are giving us honest information and appreciate all of the communication touch points from booking to when the technician is arriving and follow-up after the visit. We've been lucky enough to have Darren for most of our visits and he always puts my mind at ease. We also are signed up for their annual membership, where they come twice a year to tune up our air conditioner and furnace when the seasons change. It's reasonably priced at $99 and helps keep us on schedule and everything operating smoothly. If you're on the hunt for a heating and cooling business, I highly recommend them.

During the appointment, the technician told me that cleaning the flame sensor would cost extra, even though I believed it was part of the tune-up service. When I questioned it, he then said he would go ahead and clean it at no charge, and the process took only a few minutes. When I called afterward to clarify why this happened, I spoke with the owners. Unfortunately, the conversation was difficult -- I felt talked over, and the responses came across as defensive. I did not feel that my concerns about the service or the upsell attempt were listened to or addressed. Based on my experience, I would recommend that others consider this factor when choosing a service provider.

Routine inspection of my furnace found a capacitor that was starting to show signs of going out of…read morespec. Was told the part was under warranty, but the part would be $280 to install. The technician had the part already in his hand, and it is a plug and play part, which may at most cost $5. This is horrible business practice, and I will no longer be doing business with Plumbing Heating Paramedics. This company promotes pulling a fast one on their customers, as Wayne the tech mentioned to me he knows the part is very inexpensive, yet still chooses to work for this company, and then was attempting to force his religeon on me by saying I would be finding Jesus some day. BEWARE of this company who trains their employees to follow this poor business practice.

A technician came out and inspected it. He said he needed to turn water off to the whole house but probably would run into a problem with the shut off valve, and recommended that be replaced also. The total bill was going to be almost $1000. I wanted to think about it so paid him $85 for a service call and told him I would get back to him in a few days. In the meantime I spoke with a friend who has some plumbing knowledge and he told me how to make the repair. I didn't need to shut off the water at all. It cost me less than $6 and took about 5 minutes. I definitely feel I this technician was trying to swindle me. I called the owner and asked to speak with him to give him a chance to rectify the situation, but after leaving a message because he wasn't available never got a return call. I would avoid these people because now I sincerely questioned their honesty and/or competency.

I received an email at 6:17am on the appointment day. I received a call from the technician at 3:04pm to confirm my appointment and inform me he was on his way. He arrived at 3:49pm and walked into my kitchen without concern for the water he was bringing from his shoes (it was a rainy day). I told him the dishwasher does not clean the dishes. He took the filter out of the dishwasher and as he ran hot water through it to clear out a few pieces of food particles, he hit it against the divider of the sink splashing water all over my clean dishes and counters. As he started the dishwasher, I told him it does not dry (heat dry). He made his conclusion the dishwasher needs a new pump. He stood up, asked for a credit card and told me the warranty company will have to order the parts. He charged my card and was out the door at 3:58pm. From this experience, I would not call on Sonny Appliances. The disregard for common courtesy was loud and clear. I'm sure he wasn't having his best day today; I'll give him that. Choice Warranty owns some of the blame here. I would not use Choice either.
