Apparently wasn't something they really wanted to take care of. My appointment was between 2:30 and 3:00. A few minutes before 3:00 they called to tell me that their truck had broken down in the morning and because now they were stuck somewhere else they couldn't take care of my job. I had been waiting all day and they could have called me this morning so I didn't have to stay home. But they didn't and when I tried to get them to come first thing the next day they wanted me to do another mid-day appointment. It didn't work for me. Staying home 2 days and plus what would I do if again they had an issue? They had trucks out but they were more interested in making sure they got to do their install jobs and said they would have to come after those were done. So yes, those jobs as far as money goes are more important. But what I got from this is they don't care about servicing their customers once they're done with the installation. I found another company to come and take care of it. They were happy to come early in the day.

Finding that 1/10 gem in this industry is not easy. Nick Haddock of Irrigation Pros was that 1/10 gem. A few things that stood out about him: -PROFESSIONALISM/RELIABILITY: Unlike, any tradesman I had dealt with, he was very prompt and organized in his communication both by phone, email and text. In fact, Nick probably had the most sophisticated automated electronic appointment booking and correspondence system I had seen. All appointments and correspondence was automatically logged into his electronic calendar. He always arrived to appointments on time (an usual trait in the trades these days). -ATTENTION TO DETAIL: Nick quickly picked up that I'm very particular about technical details and worked hard to bend over backwards to customize the irrigation system to our needs. His team spent 2.5 days fighting through some extremely difficult clay soil conditions to ensure our yard was 100% covered (no bare areas) which included cleverly angling one of the sprinkler heads to create a water arc to prevent our external HVAC unit (several feet away from our screened porch) from coming in contact with the water path. I also appreciated how he made sure 100% of my wife's 4 gardening areas were completely covered by drip lines. The WIFI controller unit he installed was the Hunter Hydrawise X2 which is currently the most popular controller unit in the market. -LONG TERM COMMITMENT: After completing the install, he immediately sent me electronic calendar invites to schedule my 6 and 12 month periodic maintenance. With most tradesman, you have to hunt them down to ensure they honor their contractual maintenance and warranty policies. Nick was already a step ahead of me in this area. -PROFESSIONAL REFERENCES: Nick was one of the few who was willing to provide immediate references. I highly recommend calling them as they'll provide their own unique story of how remarkably reliable Nick was. Thus far, Nick has blown away every tradesman I've met and worked with. But they came by and examined our very tiny yard (cookie-cutter neighborhood in Moncks Corner), gave us a very reasonable quote and told us to call when we were ready. Instead of disappearing as many companies do (especially with "small" jobs), Jeff worked with our schedule, regraded our yard, installed 2 French drains (Moncks Corner = clay soil), and re-sodded with thick, lush grass. It's been about two weeks now and everything about our yard is perfect! They even installed a dog run for Daphne--and the estimate was the price--no unpleasant surprises when everything was said and done. So don't be afraid to call them--not only do they show up when they say they will, they work hard and stay until the job is done. (Of course, it may have helped that my husband bought them a dozen donuts the morning they started the job but somehow I know they would have worked just as hard.) I was told the technician would arrive today between 11 am and 1 pm. When no one had arrived or called me at 2 pm, I called the office to see what was going on. I spent 15 minutes talking with a lady who after making me wait forever on hold told me I was not scheduled. Then she proceeded to tell me that I must have spoken to some sort of AI. When I refuted this and told her that I had a full conversation with a human who acknowledged I had done business with them, and we discussed my needs at length. She still would not admit that they had made a mistake. At this point, I was beyond exasperated and hung up. I will never call this company again, and while I normally don't take the time leaving a negative review, they have certainly earned it today.
