Dreamweaver Ice Cream in a Cup
Nayra B.

VERY sweet cookies. I went to Insomnia around 1:40 in the morning and though the store was completely empty, it was clean and the two staff members were very kind. I ordered the Chocolate Chunk Blondie and White Chocolate Macadamia Cookies, and a scoop of Dreamweaver Ice Cream. There was a mix up with the cookies and I received a Peanut Butter Chip Cookie instead of the White Chocolate Macadamia, but when I went back in they gave me the proper cookie at let me keep the bonus one. All three cookies were pretty good but, as mentioned, they were exceptionally sweet. I was more a fan of the Dreamweaver Ice Cream. I thought the white stars in it were very cute, loved the purple color of the s'mores ice cream itself, and enjoyed the Double Chocolate Chunk Cookie mix in. I can't say Insomnia Cookies is anything special, but if you're craving sugar they'll definitely do the job.

Crumbl competitors. Excellent service. They serve ice cream also. Cookies are expensive so be prepared. Had the oatmeal chocolate walnut deluxe. Opened late too!!!!!

Undercooked cookies that I had to bake.

They are beautiful and everything we've tried was fantastic. They have some I think maybe gelato there as well. Seating indoors and outdoors. I forgot the exact flavors I got, but I remember trying pistachio, Dubai chocolate, and one other flavor. They were all really good. Since I was hungry, I also grabbed a chocolate croissant, which was delicious as well. I forgot to ask them to heat it up, but it was still very enjoyable. On the side, I tried their ice cream, and it was honestly some of the best ice cream I've had in San Antonio. I believe I got pistachio, taro, and coffee on the bottom, and they were all great. At the end, I also got Turkish coffee just out of curiosity. It's not in the picture because I purchased it after I finished my dessert. The coffee was very strong, with a unique flavor that made it fun to try. One small suggestion: the coffee was very very hot and nearly overflowed the small cup, so it might be helpful to add a "cup sleeve", use a slightly bigger cup, or offer an option to make it a bit cooler (adding an ice or two). Overall, this is definitely a cool place to hang out, especially if you enjoy sweets, coffee, and trying different flavors. Highly recommended and will be back for more!

There were very limited fresh selections available, and many items were still being baked during opening hours. In my opinion, a bakery should open with the shelves fully stocked and ready for customers, especially those of us stopping in early. The prices are reasonable, ranging from about $2.50-$4.00 for both sweet and savory pastries, but price doesn't make up for the lack of availability. I expected to have more options to choose from instead of empty or partially filled displays. For consistency in early morning breakfast items, I could have easily gone to Krispy Kreme, where you know exactly what you're getting when the doors open. That said, 85°C is convenient and their mango smoothies are great. Overall, it's a decent spot, but I wouldn't recommend going first thing in the morning if you're expecting a full pastry selection.

My sister & I bought milk toast, a berry tart, hokkaido custard bun, matcha red bean bun, jalapeño cream cheese, milk tea, & a chocolate bun before going over to the Tesco mart to have some shopping fun. Everything was good & if I did have one near me I'd be 100lbs bigger from binging my favorite Japanese style pastries all the time. The selection here is unmatched.

We were given menus to look at while we waited so by the time we got to the counter, we were ready to order. The baked goods aren't on the menu, so when we walked by the counter filled with croissants, kouign amann, bear claws, apple pie, cheese cakes, it was hard to choose what we wanted!! We ordered: the Alamo Burger: a 8 oz wagyu beef smash burger , served with a fried egg, caramelized onions, cheese on a crispy croissant bun. It was incredible and worth the 15-20 minute wait! Almond croissant - a monster sized, flaky croissant with a generous almond filling. Guy Fieri highlighted this croissant on his DD&D show. It's probably a million calories not worth it! Tequila strawberry tres leches croissant - a small, cream filled croissant with strawberries. This was our least favorite. My husband didn't like the filling, I didn't like the sogginess of the croissant. Coffee - really good brewed coffee with free refills. We plan to go back a few more times while we're in town!!
