They did some miracles on my teeth today, after 5 days of intense throbbing and grinding pain from one molar I had that got infected. It was one of the few times I was excited to go see Dr. Singh as I knew that he and his staff would take good care of me, and I would have traded my arm and leg to get rid of the pain I went through on my own punching walls in my house to relocate it, even if it was just for a few seconds. Their staff if very professional and friendly, and their office is very large, with plenty of parking space and Hcap access, and you will even have a choice of media entertainment as they work on your teeth. I have no complaints at all for the cost as the Doctor and his team do such excellent work. Never short change yourself, especially when it comes to your teeth and body. Come see the good doctor here, you will be in good hands and you will be satisfied once you see and feel the results of the work they can do.

Got a recommendation from friends, and I can honestly say it's a pleasurable experience, despite my fairly significant anxiety about dentists' offices. I went yesterday expecting to have my regular hygienist, Kathy, only to find she no longer works on Mondays. When I tell you I was completely freaking out inside at the thought of seeing someone new...well, I was freaking out. I was also irritated they didn't let me know about the change so I could have rescheduled with Kathy on a different day. Larhonda was my hygienist yesterday, and I just can't say enough about her. She was gentle, kind, and she empathized with me that Kathy wasn't there. She got me all the comforts I usually need to get through a cleaning - a soft blanket, nitrous, and a neck pillow (I'm a baby about these things, what can I say). She was very reassuring and customer service skills were just off the charts. So in hindsight, this situation actually worked out well. Now I have two kind hygienists at this practice, instead of just one. Larhonda is an excellent addition, and I'll look forward to seeing her again. She's lovely. All the more reason I will remain loyal to this practice and continue to recommend them to people like me, who have severe anxiety over dental visits. I truly appreciate how the entire staff is so kind and validates my fears and helps me to stay regular with my appointments. Thank you all!

After I entered the Marietta Dental and Implant Center, it was at that point that I decided to go…read moreto Yelp to look at the reviews. I am not sure why I didn't look here first, but I suppose it was due to what was considered in-network with my insurance coverage that made the decision for me and it was not to far from where I live. I was impressed that the office entry was very cozy and comfortable. The decor was simple, yet elegantly placed and it had a sophisticated design. There was a coffee and tea station available and the receptionist seemed very welcoming and friendly. While I waited to be seen, I decided to look at the reviews. Nothing too startling about the negative feedback generated any concern because I always look at who is providing those reviews. A few things I use to make my consideration for which business I select are (1) Is the review completed by a YELP elite? This matters to me because there is a reason we earn that distinction and it matters to me when I see that they have taken the time to make a careful review of the business. (2) How many friends the person has on Yelp? I know that if there are zero friends and no photos then it is highly possible the review could be fake or generated from a competing business who desires to tarnish the reputation of the competitor's business. (3) What the does the actual review SAY about the business that matters most of all? This is important to me because I need to know what the business did or did not do that they should be doing under the guidelines of what they are in business for. Back to the review... Once I was called back to the space where I would have my cleaning procedure completed, the young lady told me that she would take my ex-rays and then the dentist would review them to recommend what I needed and if I agreed they would proceed with the cleaning. She was not a touchy feely personality for her approach is very matter-of-fact and assertive. I was not sure how this would pan out if she was the person to clean my teeth. Her comment about the dentist's recommendation was a little off-putting to me and it raised a red flag in my mind because I did read someone's review that they believed they were overcharged or felt that they were being duped into coming out of pocket unnecessarily for something they believed was intentional to generate more revenue in addition to the insurance claim. In the past, I have always had my cleaning first then the dentist would come in and check the work. I have to mention that I am ashamed to admit that it had been a long while since I have had my teeth professionally cleaned, but I have always had great teeth with never any cavities so I was not too worried, but my suspicion was charged and by the time the dentist came in to meet with me I was already on high alert. Dr. Johnson seemed nice enough. He explained to me my potential condition with a great detailed analogy, so I felt a little better and more trusting of what he told me. I felt a little ridiculous because I had garnered a cold attitude towards him due to those negative reviews in the back of my mind, but I remained cautiously optimistic. I soon discovered that a very kind person whose name that I cannot remember, but it started with an "L" I think would be the person who cleaned my teeth. This was a welcomed surprise because her energy is positive, upbeat, and she is more personable than the initial ex-ray lady. The dental hygienist knows how to engage people and is more interested in getting to know people which makes a patient feel better and welcome. The spaces where you are sitting in the chair has no closed door spaces. It is open and they seem to have the latest technology available as well. My dental hygienist had a lot of work to do, but she did it well and she also explained and talked about what she was experiencing inside my mouth. I appreciated her willingness to share her yard work and the community competition with me which made me take my mind off of the procedure and minimize the anxiety. Afterwards, I was given my little goodie bag and was on my way. I will be back in six months under this time will give me more of a rounded perspective of this practice. For now, I will give them 4.5 stars, but if anything changes that made it either outstanding or miserable, I will let you know.

Long HAPPY customer review. Skip to the end for the TL;DR…read more I unknowingly had a filling come out and another cavity developing after a regular cleaning. I was told I'd need the cavity drilled out and a crown put on as the tooth would be too far gone to repair. This particular dentist was out of network, so I'd need to go in-network for the work. I went to a local big box dental office where I was treated like both a number and a dollar sign. They confirmed that I'd need a crown in addition to several other upcharges. I didn't like anything about that office or dentist, so was determined to find a small independent dentist. I went to my dental insurance website and looked for any independent dentist within 25 miles of my home. It seems the only dentists in-network are big corporate offices with multiple dentists and bad reviews. I finally stumbled upon Dr. Mantique Johnson. The reviews were confusing because multiple dentists were mentioned at this address. The newer reviews were great, but some of the older ones were not so good. When I went to their website, there was only one dentist listed. I called to see if he was indeed the only dentist there and it was confirmed, so I decided to give him a try. I called to schedule an appointment assuming it would be several weeks out, but they said they could see me that very same day. I was greeted by the friendly receptionist and almost immediately called back. X-rays were taken and Dr. Johnson came right in. He asked me why I was there, I told him that I was told by 2 dentists that I needed a crown, he took a look, and immediately said he could drill out the cavity and fill the tooth without needing a crown. WHAT?! I didn't think this was even a possibility! He asked if I wanted to proceed, I confirmed, and then I was given the out-of-pocket amount after insurance. I approved and he immediately got to work. I was given numbing gel and even asked what I'd like to watch on TV. He came back a few minutes later, gave me my numbing injections (I barely felt them), and started drilling. He drilled out the cavity, filled it with porcelain, and worked on it until my bite was perfect. I was in and out in no time and was never once nervous or uncomfortable. Dr. Johnson has such a calm demeanor and was always letting me know what was happening and allowed for breaks if so desired. When it was time to pay the bill, it was only a tiny portion of what I was expecting. I truly couldn't be happier. Now that I was so happy Dr. Johnson and his office, I decided I wanted to become a permanent customer. I went in and was greeted by hygienist Lene. She was so friendly, informative, warm, and funny. She took all the necessary x-rays as well as my gum measurements. I told Lene that my previous cleaning was only 3 months ago, she said I didn't need one yet, but would be happy to do a cleaning. We decided to wait 2 more months just to be safe. You have to love the honesty of everyone at this office. As Lene said, she treats everyone as she likes to be treated and held true to that. One sidenote; the reviews online are for the physical Marietta Dental Center building regardless of who used to work there. Keep this in mind as Dr. Johnson has only been there since December 2022. Any reviews prior to that are not for him or his staff. Pay attention to the dates of the reviews. I've never been happier with a dentist and dental office than this one. TL; DR: Dr. Johnson is the best dentist I've ever encountered in all my years. He's passionate about what he's doing and isn't looking to upsell you. He and his entire staff are top notch. Make the switch; you won't be disappointed!

I had braces when I was in high…read moreschool but was never really good about using my retainers so my teeth are only mostly straight. Since then, I've also had 2 professional bleachings (3 years apart) and more recently, a deep cleaning for gum issues that are starting to become a problem. My point is, my teeth look fine and no one would ever have anything bad to say about them, but they certainly aren't Hollywood perfect either. I've always been intrigued by veneers and the way they can improve a B- smile to an A++ smile so after thinking about them, and saving up, for the last 6 years or so (I had heard that veneers were approx $1k each), I finally decided this would be the year to start seriously considering getting veneers and Googled my way to 4 cosmetic dentists with fantastic reviews. NOTE: I automatically crossed off the Atlanta Center for Cosmetic Dentistry because I knew it would be insanely expensive simply because it's a "name" everyone knows and thinks of first when it comes to veneers. Below, I'm going to review THIS particular practice for the most part and link you to the other dentists so I can keep these reviews as relevant as possible. Also, keep in mind that I'm reviewing these practices for COSMETIC dentistry only. If I were to guess, all 4 of these would be great choices for general dentistry. Dentist #1: Dr. Boulden (http://www.yelp.com/biz/atlanta-dental-spa-roswell) + spent 90% of my appointment talking to the Dr. - $1700 per veneer Dentist #2: Dr. Giesler (http://www.yelp.com/biz/dina-j-giesler-dds-magd-and-associates-atlanta) + spent 85% of my appointment talking to the Dr. + quoted me $1500 total for bleaching & bonding to achieve the look I wanted without veneers + $1500 per veneer if I really want to go that route Dentist #3: Dr. Patel - My appt was for 2PM but I showed up at 1:30 to fill out paperwork, only to discover that the entire office takes lunch from 1-2 daily. A hygienist who wondered to the front desk saw me & attempted to locate the new patient forms without luck so she suggested that I go to Starbucks. I thought it was a bit strange of a suggestion coming from a dentist's office but took her up on it anyway and went next door to stain my teeth for a half hour. + The waiting area is small, but comfortable. There's a big TV playing Planet Earth (yes!) and a smaller TV showing before & after photos of Dr. Patel's patients (kinda gross sometimes) and a chimp getting fillings (??) - Instead of "smile books" like the other offices I've been in, the table here had mostly pageantry and Jezebel magazines. This made sense later on when I learned that Dr. Patel did Miss Georgia's veneers. - At 2PM, Christina, the "new patient concierge" who used to work at "The Center [for Cosmetic Dentistry]", took me to a small office that seemingly had no other purpose except to host consultations. This was unexpected as I had gotten to sit in the usual reclining dental chairs at both Dr. Boulden's and Dr. Giesler's offices. And as the change in setting indicated, I did not actually get my teeth examined at Dr. Patel's (which, in my mind, equals a less accurate assessment of what my needs are). - Similarly, Christina only took 2 pictures of my teeth whereas Dr. Giesler's office got at least 4 and Dr. Boulden's office got at least 10. - I told Christina that I've been really bad with using my retainers so I would like my teeth to be whiter and straighter in general. She recommended that I look into Invisalign for $5500 + bleaching instead of veneers. Umm,...I really appreciate that you're providing me with an alternative to consider but did I not just say that I'm bad with retainers? If I can't even keep those in for more than 24 hours/week, does she seriously think I can deal with Invisalign's 24 hours/day for the next 365 days routine?! If I really had that kind of discipline, I would just use my current retainers for free and get the same results in a year... + Finally, Dr. Patel made his appearance and looked at my teeth pics on the big screen. From talking to him, he seemed very knowledgeable and I got the sense that he is very good at what he does. He said he didn't really think I need veneers but that he would do them if that's what I really wanted (this is a plus in my book because I tend to get riled up when people try to tell me what to do or what not to do). He also said I wouldn't be the youngest person he's ever done veneers on...as a matter of fact, I would be the same age as when Miss Georgia got hers. - I only got to spend 50% of my appointment talking to the Dr. and I found him to be overly nice and a bit fake (we just didn't click). - $2000 per veneer SUMMARY: Very good doctor overall, but I would personally choose Dr. Boulden for veneers based on his expertise, past patient photos, and price. Dentist #4: Dr. Flax (http://www.yelp.com/biz/flax-dental-atlanta-2)

DO NOT GO HERE. I was originally referred to this office by…read morea friend, so I trusted that they would handle my dental care properly. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. Last year, I spent over $5,000 out of pocket at this dental office. At my first appointment, I had a full X-ray done and told the dentist that I wanted to take care of everything necessary to improve my dental health. I was told I needed multiple procedures including a root canal, several fillings, cleanings, and other treatments. The total came to over $5k. I was hesitant, but because I wanted to prioritize my dental health, I trusted their professional opinion and paid for everything in full. I even purchased their in-house dental insurance, hoping to build a long-term relationship with this practice. A few months later, I returned for what was supposed to be a routine cleaning. During that time, I had been extremely diligent about flossing and taking care of my teeth, so I expected no major issues. Instead, a new dentist came in and told me that I had four additional cavities and needed two more root canals. This was only a few months after completing thousands of dollars of dental work, so naturally I questioned how that could be possible. The new dentist then explained that my previous dentist was no longer employed there, and that my original X-rays actually showed the issues she was now recommending treatment for. She also stated that my previous dentist recommended procedures that were not a priority or may not have been necessary. On top of that, the new treatment plan would cost nearly another $5,000. I was completely overwhelmed and literally cried in the chair hearing this information. It felt like a huge betrayal of trust after investing so much money and believing I was doing the right thing for my health. Afterward, the case manager told me she would follow up with me and work with me regarding the additional services, since there were clear concerns about the previous treatment plan. But no one has ever reached out. What's even more frustrating is that I continue to receive calls from the receptionist asking me to schedule another cleaning, yet no one has addressed my concerns or attempted to resolve the situation. I've explained my experience to the receptionist multiple times and was told that management would be notified, but still no one has contacted me. It is incredibly disappointing to spend thousands of dollars in this economy only to feel taken advantage of and ignored. At this point, I have zero confidence in their recommendations, especially after being told the previous treatment plan may have been incorrect. Patients trust dental professionals to guide them honestly and ethically. Sadly, that was not my experience here. I would not recommend this office unless you're comfortable risking your time, trust, and money.

When it came down to correcting this mistake Karen Mills attempted to but was literally unable to perform routine Root Canal. She had me come back and forth to her office for over 3 months! I missed so much work(3 months) because I was in so much pain and had to keep taking off. Then after 3 months Karen Mills finally decides to refer me to someone who actually knew how to perform a Root Canal. I didn't even know that was an option or I would have ask her to do that after a few weeks. Why did I have to go through all that pain for all those months for Karen Mills to experiment on me knowing she didn't have the skills to do a routine /basic root canal. I finally got the problem taken care of in a matter of minutes by an endodontist. After speaking with him I found out that a lot of dentists(including Karen Mills) don't use a Dental Dam(mouthpiece in mouth) when performing root canals and is suppose to prevent materials from going in area where tooth is. Karen Mills didn't use a Dental Dam and that's what caused me all that chaos. After I found this out I had no choice but to report her to the Georgia Board Of Denistry.
