The best yet for me was the viewing of Australia. Martinis at the Imax is a nice way to end a stressful day. The drinks are always really good I enjoy the live music that is played. I am not much of a dancer, but how fun to watch, and the band (a New Orleans based Jazz band, I think) were wonderful. You can look online ahead of time to see what band/DJ will be performing the night you are interested in. Their cocktails, albeit not big, were strong and well made. We ordered a "New Old Fashioned" (doc holliday rye whiskey, hum botanical liqueur, simple syrup, orange bitters, orange twist, cherry) and one of their seasonal cocktails (I can't remember the name) that was made with lime and ginger beer. Both were delicious and gone before our movie even started. We elected to see the "Galapagos" IMAX film and we both "oooh"-ed and "ahhhh"-ed the whole time through and gushed about "marine iguanas" and "blue-footed boobies" (yes, child-man date did laugh hysterically every time this one was discussed) to our uninterested friends the rest of the weekend. However, I think that any of the IMAX options would've been just as captivating. I know it sounds pretty awful, but I LOVED feeling a little smarter after a night out. The show was full of dancers and acrobatic acts; no animals and only three dancing clowns that did not perform in the ring so that the ppl who paid for prime seating (row three) could have e a perfect view without having to get a crook in their neck by turning to locate the clowns. The show also has not changed over the years; the same acts, performances, acts with fake ppl supposedly blindly selected from the audience, the dance contest where everyone wins etc... I was highly disappointed and ready to leave during intermission; only stayed for my grandson. Extremely disappointed; I'll never attend again but I wish the participants well. I must say that some of the acts were jaw dropping!

The venue is in an old trolley barn (where the streetcar line from Atlanta terminated back around 1915 - 1948. They also appear to have a series of live theater presentations as well as some sort of periodic cabaret signers. The theater and bar-area for the live shows looked interesting, so there is a chance we'll return for that. Worth a visit.

Healium is a small gallery and space full of charming people, music, art, and meditation. Upon arriving the owner warmly welcomed us and then explained what Healium was about: an atmosphere free to play and rejuvenate, essentially. For the painting sessions, you have a choice to paint on a canvas, bottle, or tile plate. To paint it was $10 for the supplies, discount or free if you donated wine or art supplies. The painting sessions aren't lead by anything, there is a base inspiration for the day that you can draw from, but the idea is really to have fun, try not to be overly serious, and just painting. Let go, sort of experience. There are also guided meditations and food toward the back of Healium. I don't go participate in a lot of meditation sessions, so it was really interesting to finally experience a singing bowl for an extended period of time. The open gallery showcases local work from staff and other artists all with either a fantastical theme or meditative spirit in mind. Healium seems to focus a lot on exploration of the soul and letting that blossom. It's also a safe atmosphere to do so. We ended up painting and painting til the place closed up, and still painting. So much for serious? Or maybe just having too much fun.

I visited here to attend a singing bowl concert. The owners are warm, welcoming, wonderful people; the Healium Center reflects the care they've put into this place. I was given a tour; I viewed the private art gallery, owned by the Family. I saw beautiful, vividly colored art featured by local artists. They also host meditations lead by Donna, in an exquisite, eclectic black light room. They also have open jam sessions on Wednesday. I felt so at home, it's unreal. This is an 18+ venue, and they also serve food and drink on certain days as well. Please check this place out. Will I be back??? Of course I will. I absolutely love the Healium Center and you will too!
