Don't buy your Kew Gardens tickets through Get Your Guide. You have to wait in the same line as purchasing regular tickets so it saves you no time and actually costs you more time than just buying them through their website. You're able to bring in food and water, which is fantastic if you're planning to stop by Ginger Pig and make a picnic out of it, which we did. The space is really pretty and their hot houses are delightful so make sure to bring your walking shoes and enjoy yourself!

Kew Gardens- yeah I know - Metropolitan Ave, right between Forest Hills and Richmond Hill/Jamaica and 22 minutes from New York city; well this is the original, the Kew Gardens 22 minutes from London in the United Kingdom with a 22 pound( that's 30 dollars US )admission for adults and $8 US equivalent for kids up to age 15 , which I thought was awesome and so worth it. What we enjoyed - 37 acres of nature- wildflowers, tall grasses and beautiful trees. Shaded walkways as we witnessed gorgeous butterflies and dragonflies in their natural habitat. Comfy shoes please!!!!!!!! Suggestion- hire a tour guide for 20 pounds for the group ( that's $26 US) - worth it as they know which sites are popular, busy and their knowledge about the history of the trees and flowers is precious. Maximize your time here!!!! Then on to the Alpine House where we loved seeing some of the most resilient plants in an Artic induced environment. The best part of the day - the Hive - a recreation of a real beehive with the real sound that is 63 feet high( photo) with over 1500 LED lights and music symphony responding to the sounds in C- the very key the bees buzz in. You have to also get to the top of the 160 feet Great Pagoda for some nice photos. Thank you Kew Gardens for being open year round and having so much for the grandkids who are still buzzing ( fun pun) about it. You will need the full day to experience every awesome aspect here. They are open from 10-7.( The Hive closes at 6). Please buy your tickets online to save time. Furthermore get the subway or tube day or 3 day pass to avoid the lines or US credit card processing delays at the machines at the stations. Public transportation especially the tube or subway here in London is absolutely stellar. Parking here is crazy and expensive. So yes take the tube or taxis are $68-70 from Central London. Great day here! Fully recommend Kew Gardens as a must stop.

My best friend and I were looking for a place to enjoy a delicious, fresh Italian meal in Richmond…read morewhile we caught up on life updates and strategized our plan for support as she was to run 100 miles the next day in Centurion Running's Thames Path Ultramarathon (TP100). I found Adesso on Yelp, we left our airbnb and were on the move to find it. After finding a place to park, we walked the few blocks over. Immediately we were greeted to be helped and since the inside smelled a little bit like cigarette smoke to us, we opted to keep our jackets on and sit outside in the brisk English air. The waiter who took care of us was incredibly attentive and kind. While he spoke Italian and we spoke English, we made it work and were able to order an amazing meal: garlic bread, burrata (for me, my friend does not love cheese), spaghetti pomodoro and a nicely breaded, thin, perfectly cooked and simple piece of chicken. Then, I finished the evening with a mocha for myself. While we have no science supporting this, we believe this meal was the most perfect fuel for her race the next day - as she completed the 100 miles in under 20 hours, approximately 7 hours before she anticipated she would. Until we find ourselves back in Richmond, we will take with us the fond memory; When we are next in Richmond, Adesso will be our first culinary stop. The excellent service and delicious, fresh, authentic food will not disappoint and we recommend this place to anyone!

The olives are amazing and the panettone for Christmas was delicious. To begin with, the service was very slow. From the beginning, even just getting wine and water seemed to take too long. Then we had to wait 30 minutes to order food and then another 30 minutes to receive our appetizers. By this time we had been at the restaurant for over an hour. The main course took about 30 minutes to arrive, as well, which would have been okay if we weren't already a bit annoyed with the slow service. I'm not sure if they were understaffed (it was fairly busy, especially for a Wednesday night) but the staff just seemed to disappear sometimes. The food itself was also subpar and a disappointment. Italian food is wonderful and full of great flavors - all the food we had was bland. We had fried calamari that was chewy and, although the calamari seemed fresh, the batter didn't taste of anything. It seemed like neither the calamari nor the batter had been seasoned. My partner's fish was okay but again, seemed under-seasoned, and my pasta was also just bland. Everything lacked any sort of distinction and, considering how good the items in the store are, this was a real disappointment. I think if we hadn't been there with a 50% promotion we would have been really upset. We were hoping to find a new neighborhood spot but this, sadly, won't be it.

I love that they stay open pretty late compared to other restaurants around because my group could only get together later in the night for dinner. The ambiance was casual and relatively modern. The space in the restaurant was a little bit tight and it was very narrow and deep. We grabbed a table in the back corner. It was pretty crowded which was a good sign, but also very loud. Our server was nice and checked up on allergies for our group as we requested. This restaurant is very careful with allergies. We started with one of their special starters of the day, "Buffalo Mozzarella + Langhirano Coppa." It was a plate with thin cold cuts of cured beef with fresh mozzarella, arugula, and tomatoes. I really enjoyed this. I loved the cold cuts and the mozzarella. It tasted so fresh and was a nice little snack before the meal. For my meal, I ordered the pizza with Gloucester old spot ham (home cured), mozzarella, buffalo ricotta, and extra tomato sauce. I really enjoyed my pizza! I really liked the sourdough crust and I liked the fact that the crust was not too thick. I loved the ham and cheeses on my pizza as well. They didn't skimp out on the meat which was good. However, I did want extra tomato sauce on my pizza and I felt that they barely put tomato sauce on it. I still really enjoyed the pizza though! I thought that the prices were also very good. Overall, casual ambiance, friendly and careful staff, great prices, and great food! I would definitely recommend Franco Manca.

There are many things I don't like and hospitals are one of them. The long chalky corridors,…read morefluorescent lighting and the odour of chemicals makes me feel like I'm in a sort of horror movie based in a laboratory... Not to mention the long and ever so boring waits. Kill me already! In this case, I felt differently. From the moment I booked an appointment with my GP to my first pre assessment surgery and following up to my surgery and recovery, I found the process to be very quick and efficient. The staff are as nice as could be in a hospital (or at least, in front of the patients until they talk badly about them in the coffee room). The follow up from visits is quicker than they usually anticipate. For example, I was told it may take 4 weeks until I get my surgery done but next thing I know, I'm back in 2 weeks after. If they are trying to set expectations low, they are doing it very well! There is a cafeteria area on the ground floor -with outdoor sitting area- and a restaurant not too far a walk from it. If you're hesitant about hospital coffee, don't worry there's a Costa Coffee. They also have a WHSmith right by the entrance which is well needed to buy books, drinks and snacks. No more boring waits! Speaking of waiting, I personally didn't wait as much as I have done in other hospitals. There is a self check in machine by the entrance and once I arrived at the floor, my name was called out before I could take a seat. Before the operation, I had two sets of Doctors come see me to talk me through anything and assist with any queries or concerns I had. They were very clear about things they would and wouldn't during the operations which may affect one. Despite being a very busy hospital, they seemed to be organised and aware of patients. The only downfall was that there weren't enough beds to accommodate all patients. I also had a phase of bleeding and discomfort and it took a while for the doctor(s) to arrive and check on me. I do appreciate its busy but at the end of the day, something else could have happened. Overall, it's the best hospital I've been to so far and can't fault them for anything. Thank you WMX hospital!
