    Risotto Mare tasted delicious
    Svetlana M.

It was a one of these warm Friday evenings in mid spring when it felt like a sin to go for dinner somewhere inside after a long day at the office, so we decided to look for a place with a terrace in Richmond hill and came across a Sicilian restaurant Adesso. I liked the atmosphere, the service was efficient, the food tasty and the prices reasonable. We shared two appetizers: Parmigiana (claimed to be one of the best in UK and Italy) and Calamari. I preferred the calamari. For the main I had Risotto Mare, which tasted yummy. If you don't mind the nature (read: ants that would once in a while crawl on your table), you will enjoy dining at the terrace in Adesso ;)

Bruschetta is delicious!! I would also recommend the meatballs, but they were all gone before I could get a picture.

Genuine Sicilian cooking, try pasta alla norma for a true taste of Sicily. Desserts are great too.

She was rolling her eyes at us, huffing at requesting, and generally being rude. I am normally a very generous tipper(as I am from the States and we tip hugely on everything), but this was one of the few times I barely left a tip because the service was awful. The thing I hate about tipping terribly is that she probably treated us awfully because we were students and figured we wouldn't tip well anyway. Her terrible attitude put a damper on one of our few nights out. The food was mediocre, but not awful. I think I may have just been spoiled back home with incredible Italian food. My friends all thought the food was nice.

It was very much Lady and the Tramp, eating pasta and meatballs and why not share a piece of pasta with your date and end it up with a kiss. Ah , such a romantic restaurant. The service was not the best I have experienced. But the friendlyness of the staff and the atmosphere was compensation for the lacking of service. The food was absolutely amazing and there was a great selection of pasta on the menu. Pro's: Extremely charming, friendly atmosphere, friendly staff, amazing food Con's: No con's

What a delicious, off the beaten track, pizza find!…read more A very modest client of mine recently chose this as our lunch venue. Even though I was having one of those days where I wasn't sure if my brain could handle the small talk, my spirits instantly lifted when we got here. It's a family-run joint with stone-baked pizzas and your traditional Italian fare, all served with a personal touch. My curiousity was first piqued when I was told that all pizzas could be served gluten-free - which I thought was quite unusal for a small restaurant on the fringes of Kingston. So of course I had to try that option, even though I am partial to my wheat, and the result was delicious. The base was thin, crisp and light - if I wasn't told it was gluten-free, I certainly wouldn't have noticed or complained, which was helped by the plentiful and fresh toppings. Beyond the food - the friendly environment of this restaurant is what will make me return and why I'd recommend it to anyone. The decor is nothing special at a first glance, however there are some tables with glass covers and unusual - I want to say 'art' but I'm having a hard time categorising it...Basically there was a colourful arrangement of kids toys under the glass on our table, and a selection of kids stationery under a table nearby. It's slightly bizarre, and I'd be lying if I said I'd pay any money for one of my own, but it's certainly unique and our server was delighted to proudly chat away about them, which was all part of the warm environment. Now, to add to the tasty food, friendly service, and special furnishings - they do a broad selection of dishes for £5 on weekdays. This is an absolute steal and leaves you with no excuse to try it out when you're in the area. My one regret is that I had no change for a tip - I'm now contemplating popping in and giving them one when I'm next in Kingston, even if I'm not dining. That's quite an impression to leave on me....

We were not disappointed, they have a gluten free menu and were very knowledgeable and flexible catering for a vegan diner as well. As soon as we entered Carluccio's we were instantly greeted by our server. Throughout our 3 course meal we were constantly looked after which was amazing. I ordered the ricotta ravioli which was okay, not amazing. My wife ordered the chicken and mushroom risotto which was out of this planet. This authentic Italian caffé has been a favourite of mine ever since it opened a few years ago…read more Still true to the ethos of owners Antonio and Priscilla Carluccio, it runs smoothly and is a pleaser - for me - on several levels. It's in a great setting, just by the scenic river Thames; in decent weather you can sit outside and take advantage of this. Whether you just fancy a coffee, only a drink or a light one-course meal, you'll still be welcome. The service is good and friendly and in the rare event that there is a problem - like a corked glass of wine - (as happened to me on one occasion) it will be readily changed, without a fuss. When you want some take-out food you'll find many of the menu highlights available at the deli. For a gift or personal treat there are true tastes of Italy, appealingly packaged, in the shop.
