I was eager to lose weight for my wedding coming up and in a moment of insecurity walked into InShapeMD to ask some questions. I met with the guy selling the memberships (Jack) and was convinced this was going to be my "miracle" to lose weight. Luckily, I asked to split my fee into two payments... The next week I had an appointment with my primary care physician.. before I could even tell her the diet I was planning she paused and said, "oh no, not the HCG diet?".. which of course I had to admit, yes, in fact the HCG diet. She warned me that she had another female patient come in who had been on the diet and they had to call paramedics.. She also told me how she was on a board that researched this diet and yes you lose weight because you are only eating 500 calories a day but there is no proof the HCG hormone actually increases weight loss or decreases appetite. She did not want me to do it. I went straight to InShapeMD and talked with Jack and told him I no longer wanted to do the diet, as my doctor has said she didn't want me to do this diet. Please note, I had not received any services from InShapeMD at this time. I requested a refund. Instead of giving me a refund he attempted to sell me more products and insult my physician. I only needed to lose 10 pounds. He played up on the fact no other diets have worked for me. If they had looked at my lab results - my thyroid was not right and that was cause of my weight gain. If there was a way to leave ZERO stars I would!! This place is the most unprofessional, unorganized, and rude establishment I have ever been to. I found a Groupon deal for b12 shots that sounded really good so I bought the deal. I tried to get appt with the establishment by calling. For several days I wasn't able to get anyone to answer the phone or return my phone call. Finally someone did return my call and I chalked it up to "they must have been busy" and made my appt. once I got to my appt and after filling out the necessary paperwork, a man wearing jeans and t-shirt with tennis shoes took me to the back. I'm thinking he was going to show me to the room where a Dr. Or nurse will meet with me. To my surprise he was trying to do it himself. In the back of my mind, I thought maybe he just got to work and any other excuse I could think of. I should have at that point turned around and left. But again decided to give the place a chance since it was after all my first visit. This man did not even know how to use the scale machine to do a weigh in. He also did not know how to use the bmi handheld equipment. But I did get my b12 shot and further more I got somehow convinced to add additional service and I allowed them to up charge me for future services. I think I must have lost my mind. I was assured however, that in the future I can just come to the establishment for my weekly shots. The next time I tried to get service I had paid for, after clearing my schedule to make the trip, they tell me they are out and I will have to come back. Had they answered the phone I could have learned this. At this point I am irritated and ask for a refund. The girl in the front desk calls the owner (Mrs. Davis is the owner) and hands over the phone to me. I get an earful of excuses after excuses. I simply ask for the refund again since this is proving to be way more inconvenient than I thought. She starts screaming at me and says fine, her accountant will call me the very next day to process the refund. Well this call never happened. I called and left messages couples of yikes over the following few days. Finally when I realized they had no intention of refunding, I simply called my American Express and told them the situation and was refunded fully for the up charge. Groupon also gave me a full refund with ease once I explained the situation. Isn't it wonderful dealing with a professional establishment that keeps its word and one you can actually trust? I am grateful that there are diff ways of going about getting what you need. But as for InShape Med, I honestly don't know why their doors are even open for business. They simply do not know what they are doing. And from the other ratings, they probably will not be open for too long if they are scaring customers away like they did with me. This place is G-H-E-T-T-O! I purchased a groupon for place and regretted it immediately. I went in on my first appointment, and to my surprise the men who administered my B 12 injection was wearing street clothes! I was apprehensive of course, but but went to head and got the injection anyway. Less than two weeks later I get a call that my next B12 appointment has been canceled due to the fact that they ran out. They rescheduled my appointment to a couple days later when they should have for the B12 available again. Unfortunately when I got there at my new scheduled time I was told by the receptionist that they are still out of the b12 and are in the midst of possibly shutting down permanently. Naturally I was floored, but most importantly irritated that no one had enough common courtesy to call before my scheduled appointment to save me a trip. Needless to say I got on the phone immediately with Groupon and promptly received my refund. If this place decides to stay open beyond this point, I advise any and everyone to avoid at all costs! read more
