Pork pepper Jack sausage
Janaya M.

We had the Jack Ripper Po' Boy and Cajun Fries (fries, boudin, cheese, insanity sauce, ranch, green onions) The employees are very friendly and helpful. Everything sounded amazing! Our food was super good and hot. Had some jalapeño ranch on the side which was just the right amount of kick. We will definitely visit again! They also have freezers and fridge of sausages and sauces and other meats.

A must stop if you are traveling along I-10 from Lake Charles to Texas!! We made a stop and are so happy we did!! My husband and I were able to share some of our Cajun roots with our now Arkansas girls and they are hooked! The boudin balls and crawfish pistolettes were a favorite!! They have a refrigerator section that you can pick up some items for the house or gifts for friends! Everything we had was fantastic and if we are ever in the area again we will for sure stop by!! Items we had include: Boudin Sausage Crawfish pistolette Boudin Balls Pictures are a little fuzzy since we are in the car... oops! This 10 hour drive is getting to us! The sweet gale who helped us out was fantastic and cared for this tired family well. Great service, great place to visit!

Cajun fry po boy

We stoped here as a dinner option during a major reck on I-10 and I was surprised. Right when you walk in you are greeted and taken care of quickl. The staff are so nice and helpful, and the food is a true representation of Cajun food. I got the Cajun Fry po boy and I was not disappointed. Great food and great people while remaining pretty cheap. Great option for a quick meal.

Cajun Hangover Po'Boy

Wow. My first time here. First off, the place looked very clean. Secondly, all of the employees were incredibly friendly. Third...the food was delicious. I had the Cajun Hangover Po'Boy, and it was great. Boudin balls were piping hot & flavorful with just enough spice. And the Cajun Fries were just as good. Then, the pecan praline bread pudding was the PERFECT finish. Don't leave before you hit the freezer cases and stock up on their wide variety of sausages, boudin, frog legs, quail, etc. I can't wait to try some of the sausages we bought.

Shrimp Boil (half)

I should have taken more photos, but we were too busy eating! What a little gem of a place. Best sausages I've tried in as long as I can remember. We came late on a Sunday and so the bread pudding was sold out already, but people kept coming in and asking for it so it must be pretty good! Highly recommend this place for deliciousness and friendliness. AMAZING!

Angry fried chicken sandwich

First stop at new little gem! A friend from Galveston recommended this place, which is maybe a mile North of I-10 at the Delta Downs exit. First up was the Boudin Ball, which I inhaled after the first bite & forgot to take a picture. Only $1.59 each! Next was the Angry Fried Chicken Sandwich with jalapeño sourdough bread, jalapeños, their own insanity sauce with what had to be at least 2/3 lb of perfectly fried chicken Breast. Damn spicy, damn good! Round two tomorrow on the way home!

Boudin sliders, smoked jalapeno cheese sausage, cajun fries.

I drive from Beaumont and I loved all the sausages I have bought from there. Their Boudin is also out of this world.

The restaurant was decorated as you would expect a good Cajun restaurant to be decorated in. Service was nice and friendly and you order at the register and they bring your food to you. Service was great even after we got our food. A server asked us if we needed refills and if we wanted them in to-go cups, which scored bonus points with me! Here's what I had on this lunch visit: The crawfish pistollette (8/10) which was a small appetizer that was bread with some crawfish etouffee on top. Bread was nicely cooked and the etouffee on top was delicious. Solid starter! The Cajun Cooking Sampler (9/10) - this was a sampler with 3 amazing dishes. I got the shrimp and crab gumbo, which is classic Louisiana gumbo and it was outstanding! The sampler also had a bowl of crawfish etouffee which was good but felt it needed a bit more etoufee to mix with the rice. Lastly, the special of the day was fish courtbouillon which was a fish in tomato based sauce over rice. I really enjoyed this as the fish has a great texture and there was a lot of flavor in the sauce. Overall, solid lunch meal in the $ to $$ range depending on what you order. Recommend you trying it for a great Cajun experience!

The interior is also big and very tidy! There was a small welcoming staff there to greet us. The grilled oysters were topped with chopped peppers and bacon bits - came out hot and the oysters were plump and big! Very very tasty! It was about 30$ for a dozen oysters - so quite affordable for the size of oysters. Great bite and starter. I ordered the Atchafalaya, which had fried catfish and crawfish etouffee gravy smothered on top. The rice was a bit underdone which made the over taste of the dish not as cohesive. The crawfish pieces were abundant, but slightly mushy. The sweet potato fried side dish that came with the dish was perfect though - soft interior and slightly crisp exterior. The portion size was huge and I wasn't able to finish the dish. I'd definitely recommend trying the oysters on the menu, and next time, I'll need to try the fresh oysters!

The quality of the meal definitely met our expectations. However, the service on the bar side left some room for improvement. We were told that the bar was running behind, but that explanation did not sit well considering the length of the wait for drinks. It seems that having a dedicated runner to help deliver drinks from the bar could greatly improve service and keep things moving more efficiently. Additionally, our appetizer was forgotten and wasn't offered until halfway through our meal, at which point it no longer made much sense to bring it out. Overall, the food and atmosphere were excellent, but improving drink service and communication in the kitchen and bar areas would make the experience even better.

A massive variety of seafood... I want to come back to try the other menu choices…read more The fish tacos were perfect and can be ordered blackened, grilled or fried. I chose a large order of the boiled shrimp appetizer and my husband ordered the fish tacos with charo beans. We shared and it was plenty of food (maybe too much) for lunch. The shrimp was clearly fresh but seasoned with a taste I didn't care for, however my husband liked it fine. I covered up the taste with cocktail sauce. It must be a local preference. Our server was the very best! She gave us great advice on what to order. She was friendly and attentive without being interrupting. Her name is Hillary and she is a real credit to the restaurant.

We gave it a shot when we first moved from the NASA area four years ago, so it was about time. I loved the fact they were open on Memorial Day, and they didn't seem to be too busy. Mostly golfers and their ilk. Our server was Kaitlyn, who was very fast. She reminded me of Mary Lou Retton. Very fast. Almost too fast? I asked a question about the amount of breading in the crab cake, and she said there was none. Seems unlikely, since crab cakes need a binder. I am intolerant of the gluten, so when she said the crab cakes had no binder, I was hesitant. I took the safe road and ordered the cucumber snacker and a boudin ball. My BF ordered a ribeye, and (because he thought he was super hungry), ordered chips and salsa as a starter. Kaitlyn brought out my wine and our chips and salsa straight away. The chips were very stale, the salsa was tasty but a little spicy for my taste. Everything arrived at our table at the same time, even though I ordered two apps as my meal. Kudos to Kaitlyn. The cucumbers were good, especially with the jalapeño ranch. No one can mess up a cucumber, but the jalapeño ranch was tasty. My boudin ball was meh. My BF ordered his ribeye medium temperature, and it arrived rare. Kaitlyn checked in on us a couple of minutes after the food arrived. He told her about the steak and she quickly whisked it away. ~5 minutes later, someone delivered the new steak. My BF enjoyed the new steak, baked potato and salad. When we visited four years ago, we felt rushed. I felt rushed this time as well. Obviously, Tia Juanita's is doing very well. You can't swing a rope without seeing another TJ's in SETX. It's probably just not our jam. I like a nice meal without feeling rushed. I also prefer to eat with a proper fork and knife. I would, however, like for the manager to respectfully respond to negative reviews. They seem to respond to positive reviews only.
