We walked in, asked the clerk at the register if she had the supplies we were looking for (precut ATC blanks) and not only did she know what they were, she was able to point them right out to us without hesitation, and they even had a nice variety to choose from! Even big stores that regularly carry them tend to only have one or two varieties. They had at least 6 different choices of weight, color, texture, and the like! McDee's isn't huge, but after some quick browsing it became obvious they had everything I need for drawing and painting, along with a smattering of a few other crafts (paper crafts for the most part). The prices were surprisingly good too! It was clean, friendly, well lit, and I'm told they host classes! I can't wait to see what sort they offer. They are also (obviously) a framing shop, and I've already heard from several people that they are the place to get things framed. They share a big open area with another retail store, and we were informed they do all sorts of things other than just the classes, like weddings, receptions, meetings, and the like. I was very impressed. They had what I needed, when I needed it, at a good price, with helpful and courteous service. Perfect score!

Their service center at the north end of town Is clearly set up to serve the public. I walked in with an urgent delivery to Bogotá, Colombia, holding some small metal parts with no packaging in my hand. This wasn't my first rodeo--I had my commercial invoice with four copies already filled out for the customer in South America. The counterman knew exactly what to do. He found the cheapest method and best protective packaging for the fragile metal tubing I was shipping. I watched him wrap the parts and he did an excellent job. He scanned my ID, took my card payment, and returned a receipt with all the tracking information required to notify my customer. I was in and out of there in no time. Although I was in a hurry, I did notice racks of related products that make shipping effortless. I was there at 2 o'clock and the last pick up for air shipments is at 4 o'clock. This experience gave me a very positive attitude toward (FedEx).

Only star down is for their hours, they run fairly typical banker's hours, generally closing at 6pm. That is frequently highly inconvenient for me, since I work until reasonably late in the day, and would greatly prefer to be able to do my posting later in the evening, even if the packages would not actually ship until the following day's pickup. I have every intention of continuing to use this UPS store for my general mailing needs for the foreseeable future.
