I'm appalled by the way he rudely treats customers and gets away with poor workmanship. He did not honor our contract and is refusing to not only finish the contracted project, but to refund half our deposit that was to go towards it. He dragged this out over a year and left us in dismay. I would NOT recommend hiring him. Per our contract in 2021 he did 2 out of the 3 jobs he was hired for. We paid a deposit that was to be split between the 2 main jobs. He completed the first main job with poor workmanship, but did not return for the second main job. Despite numerous patient and polite attempts to reach him since then, he failed to respond. Finally he responded, calling us a difficult customer and that he refuses to do the work to fulfill the contract. Furthermore he threatened a restraining order if we continued to try to contact his business. After now reading other reviews, he has done this to others and will continue to do so. Please beware.

We are VERY satisfied with his groups performance. His quote was detailed and competitive with two other quotes. He said the work would take a full week and was completed on time and on budget. The workers were professional and polite. The owner, Jeff, was on site during the whole job! In my experience, having the actual owner of the company present and actually doing much of the detail work, is highly unusual. Jeff takes pride in his work and that shows! I would strongly recommend Word of Mouth painting to anyone who needs a quality as well as honest painter. DTK Penfield ,NY

I'm stunned by how the final product matches the original renderings so accurately -- this was our first construction project that had no unpleasant surprises! The team was like part of the family, and we were on a first name basis with everyone who came in to work on the project. Our home was always left clean and secure, making it much easier to be here while the construction was taking place. Through temporary walls and a dining room magically turned into a temporary kitchen that the team set up, we had a somewhat normal life as this was all taking place. We absolutely wouldn't hesitate to hire Hometown again or recommend them to anyone seeking a team that will work closely with you and truly care about your home.

These guys came and took measurements and were able to show me several different design options rendered on the computer. I chose the one I loved, and they advised me on every detail, right down to the trim, appliances, cabinetry, flooring, and backsplash tile, helping me to make my dream kitchen a reality within my budget. I could not be happier with how my kitchen turned out! I'm amazed that they were able to see the potential in what I thought was a lost cause and then make it a reality for me. I just wanted to clarify my experience -- short and simple- you confirmed an appt you didn't keep and then decided not to accept a project/work further because my tone of frustration (of which your lack of communications was the root cause ) was not acceptable. You say you "value mutual respect and clear communication in every client relationship. " Unfortunately, you didn't even communicate until I contacted you to ask if you were still coming. You left me waiting without notification so that's already contradictory to what you value. Management then chose not to continue to work with me because they felt the tone and nature of response was not acceptable after an apology The truth is...No one called to apologize or acknowledge the no show until after I called. You can't expect to gain respect if you don't give it. Although you had an emergency at 7am (our scheduled appt was 10am), it doesn't take more than 5 sec to send a quick message to cancel. You had 3 hours to cancel an appt you couldn't make. So it is for the same reason that I prefer not to work with your company. I also value respect and clear communication which did not occur with your tone and lack of accountability in how you handled the matter. Hopefully this feedback will help future prospective clients.
