This time, my girl was vacationing- so I was seriously left in limbo trying to find a Dominican hair salon last minute for picture day with my class. My TA had mentioned D'Johanny in Castle Hill and RAVES about her girl here. That's all it took. Sporting a chandelier and 'wood' plank flooring, D'Johanny Salon sits in a cramped plaza-ish space. Entrance has a natural welcome with plants adding color and livening up the narrow salon. As soon as I walked in, the stylist instructed the hair wash person to use Shimmer Lights on my greys- without me even telling her I wanted that. That to me said two things- observant and quick on her feet. A 10-minute hair treatment was applied with soothing hands, my stylist Aracelis took over with rollers, had me sitting under the dryer then ready for a blowout. To wrap things up, she used her small straightening iron and took care of all my pesky edges- front and back. Be mindful that if the iron gets close to your forehead, temple area and edges in the back, speak up and let your stylist know to be careful and avoid getting burned. Despite that hiccup, this is where you'll hear all the gossip and stories you DON'T even wanna hear- but it's all good. There are other services to be had here- so do inquire. My stylist understood my hair from the get-go and how tough greys can get. The price was right and $60 for all that was done, I was a happy camper with my hair being the softest it's ever been in my adult life.
