Also while waiting for the dye to settle in they gave me a nice soft donut pillow to hold my phone up and offered coffee, green tea or water with a little chocolate cookie snack. It's the little details that really up the quality! Jina did such an amazing job with the cut color and styling--very meticulous and professional--and the girl who washed my hair (I think her name was Iris) was great too. Then my hair dresser Winnie, felt like I was talking to my aunt. So sweet and gentle with me. She heard my concerns and gave recommendations. They kept going back and forth, two stylists kept switching turns while doing my hair so idk if the timing was off or what but my hair is brittle now. And so I contacted them on Instagram they told me to come back and that they'll be able to "fix it", I did, and they just straightened it with some solution which still got washed off revealing original texture afterwards. And when I complained now this is what they said "Hi dear, based on your hair's condition and texture before the service, this is the best result we could safely achieve while still maintaining the health of your hair. The straightening helped reduce frizz and smooth the hair a lot, but very resistant or previously treated hair may still have some natural movement after washing and won't stay completely pin straight." Now they're blaming my hair for being weak. So I said Japanese straightening is supposed to fix that no? And they should've just told me if hair couldn't handle it. And now they're plainly ignoring me, leaving me on seen. I liked the salon before but seems like I expected too much, I'm done.

Dominique answered the phone and told me she was happy to take me in as soon as I arrived. I communicated what I wanted: to cut off at least 15 inches of hair for me to donate then just have her add layers so that my face would be framed nicely. I explained that I have naturally curly/wavy hair and that I don't want my hair shorter than my shoulders when curly. She listened intently and very clearly understood the assignment. I let her know that I didn't really have an "inspiration photo" for what I wanted my hair to look like, but she told me not to worry and I trusted her. Throughout the entire process, she communicated EVERYTHING to me! She knew I was nervous about having short hair again, so I truly appreciated her transparency with what she planned to do while cutting as it made me feel at ease. The outcome is PHENOMENAL!
